| Maryanne, That's cool how you did all the boxes with the colors and all. Great job! Carol, |
|
| Okay, I'm not real sure I understand. But I am guessing I am to pick someone else's box?? I will pick #6 Deb |
|
| I know which one I want...giggle,giggle..... Maryann you did a fabulous job with the posting, thank you so much. And Carol, you deserve and award for organizing this swap. I just can't believe how much planning went into this. Anita and Susie, praying for you and we lifted you both up at my church this week. You both are loved. Sassy, hope your brother is on the mend and praying for him and you also, hugs to you. This has been THE FUNNEST swap I have participated in! Is this the last round? Who picks next? |

| Great job on the list, Maryanne. I would have no idea how to list it the way you did. I think I am number two. Oh, it's hard to be at this point in the stealing part... will I get to keep what I steal? I really want the Highland Lord daylily so I'll pick Box #3. Be kind, ladies, go for a different box. Okay? Jeanne Jeanne |
|
| Carol, Congratulation, to the new member of your family Gale |
|
| Can I ask a question. If someone steals a box from someone that has already picked in this round, what does the person get that just had their box stolen? Do they get the box that the "thief" was just holding? I just want to be clear. -T |
|
| I'm so bummed I had to step out of this swap, so many boxes I'd love to have. You girls make some good boxes! I apologize for having to run out the back door, but can't concentrate on boxes right now and I would want to send a good box. Susan, thanks so much for your prayers, thats really sweet of you. Unfortunately, I'm afraid it too late for that. But please don't stop. You girls have fun stealing from each other:)) Sassy |
|
- Posted by brittneysgran z6NC (My Page) on Thu, Mar 6, 08 at 21:58
| Actually the way this game is played is any box can be stolen from the ones who have already picked. The higher the number you have is the one who has the last choice and can take any box. Boxes 6 and 3 can be taken from Momcat and Jeanne and they will have to pick another box. Sassy-We miss you Anita, Susie, Maryanne and all the others in this swap. Maybe someone else will do another one when it comes their turn. Anita posted on the traveling daylily thread and is doing well for all she has gone through. Maryanne-You outdid yourself on the outline above....thanks you computer whiz. Do you give lessons? Shirley

| Here's a list we can copy & paste. Each time a player chooses a new box, just state so on the list. Like, Deb had 15 from last round, but wanted #6..which Melinda originally held from round 1. So, now Deb has #6, and Melinda has #15. I hope that makes sense!! 1) momcat- holding #15...traded for #6 |

| Hi All, The snow is coming down here! I'm not sure how much we'll get overnight, but it might be a foot or more. Spring is never coming, lol. I thought the box picking would be farther along. It will be interesting to see if anyone keeps their box or tries to, lol. April, Sassy, |

I will have to look up Murrayville and see where you are in Georgia. I used to live in Atlanta and go there often to shop. Shirley |

| Where's Marie? She's probably remodeling a room ripping out sinks or something, lol. I stayed home from work today because it looked so awful when I got up. The news said it was suppose to stay bad, but it hasn't snowed in awhile now! Well, I got paid for the day. |

| April-I go right by you when I go to the Mall of Georgia. We do go to Gainesville sometimes to shop also. You won't see much snow where you are believe me. We live in the mountains and don't see much here either. When I was growing up here it snowed alot in the winter months but not anymore. The sun is now out but the wind is bad. Marie-Where are you? | good morning everyone. perhaps storms in the last few days have been keeping people away? sure hope it's not my breath! we had ferocious winds last night. at one point i thought there was a plabe hoovering over the house and when i looked out, the trees were bending every which way. i thought for a minute they would announce on the news that we had had a tornado. it's still rather windy, but nothing like last night and the rain finally subsided. the old addage "in like a lion and out like a lamb" sure holds true for the month of march! i too thought this would be moved along much further.well, perhaps by tonight, more players will come out of hibernation and chose their next box. maryanne |
|
| I am here! but I am confused... It isn't my turn yet, is it? Never mind - I get it ! I am 3rd to pick but I thought it referring to the order we signed up - I was #3 then.. . I pick #6 - can't resist all those Iris! Remy - yes, I am redoing my bathroom (needed a breather from the other house!) LOL Almost done - had to take a break, as I cut one piece of trim wrong ~ grr! | thanks for the explanation, carol. we have done something similar as a christmas pollyanna type thing, but if the person took your gift, the person loosing then had the option to take another - makes it really cut throat. everyone seems to be coveting #6. so carol, how is the baby? i sent you an email, did you get it? i want to hear all about her and can't wait to see pix. when will you be home? maryanne |
|
| Hi all, Ok here's the deal. I assume Momcat will get to take the last turn after Shirley being she has her own box. I assume that if she has the choice she would want box 6 back, but I'm under the assumption she can not take back a box she already took and had stolen. Because if she wants box #6 back I would want box #1 back, and I can not take box #1 back. So I want box #6. Now if it is ruled she can take back box #6, then I want box #9. Lol, did that make sense? Carol or anyone want to rule on what is the correct thing to do? |
|
- Posted by brittneysgran z6NC (My Page) on Mon, Mar 10, 08 at 21:01
| Yeah its my turn finally..that is if we get an answer to Remy's question. The way the original game started is like Maryanne said when your box got taken you picked any box you wanted. The way this one was played is you got the one the new chooser had. When Momcat's box was taken if she had picked another box she would not have ended up with her own. Anyway now what to do????? Shirley |
|
- Posted by earthlydelights Z6 PA (My Page) on Mon, Mar 10, 08 at 21:28
| so remy, if momcat gets to pick after shirley and you get #9, what does gale get? does she take your 7? this is a big reason i didn't play this time, i have NOOOOOOO clue. isnt' it funny how there was no movement whatsoever for a day or so and all at once, we are at the end of the picks? carol, come on out and make a ruling on how this should work. are all the boxes accounted for at this point? everyone's has been spoken for? maryanne |
|
| Wow!! After a long lull in the action, everything was wrapped up quickly. I didn't think I'd still have my box at the end, but those Iris were just too tempting!! If it comes down to it, I could just keep my own box, save on postage, and I won't have to go out and pick up another pack of Stargazer lily bulbs for myself, and the other stuff, well I'm sure there will be other opportunities to use it in other boxes! Just let me know what happens with me and my box!! I won't be back online until after work tomorrow (around 5 or 6pm). Deb |
|
- Posted by hazelnutbunny 7A (My Page) on Mon, Mar 10, 08 at 23:58
| Okay...Umm...I think I'm confused by Remy's question! LOL But I think she's asking if she can steal back the box she had in the first round?? Yes?? Uh...if that's it, then, Miss Remy...the answer is...YES. You can take any box you want in the second round. That's the fun of it. It wouldn't be any fun if you couldn't steal like everyone else has gotten to! So...if you want box #1, then by golly, swipe it back!! I think that, yes, we should give Momcat the chance to choose another box, if she wants. Or let some one NOT playing (like Miss Earthly) choose a player to trade boxes with her. That way it's nice and fair. :O) Um...so, Remy?? Which box was it that you wanted?? LOL Melissa |
|
| This is still not resolved? How about if everyone just sends their box to me and I will keep them all! :) -T |
|
- Posted by earthlydelights Z6 PA (My Page) on Tue, Mar 11, 08 at 18:29
| carol, where are you? busy with the baby? travelling back home? a ruling is warranted. shirley, did you pick a box yet? momcat, if it winds up you still have your box and want to play (as opposed to your post about keeping your own box), why don't you just act as the last "picker". i can't imagine anyone would have objections, but if they do, please post them here. i'm sure since this is a march swap, you all want to wrap it up so you can pack your boxes and get them to your partner by the end of the month. just my 8 1/2 cents |
|
- Posted by hazelnutbunny 7A (My Page) on Tue, Mar 11, 08 at 18:46
| I am officially past the confused mark. Yep, I'm at 85 degrees west of confused, and closing in on "What in the WORLD?!?" territory. LOL Um. Where are we?? Melissa |
|
| It doesn't look like Shirley picked a box, yet. If I get to choose again, and I can choose a box I already had, I would choose #6. If I need to choose one that I haven't had before I would choose #3. Let me know, |
|
- Posted by brittneysgran z6NC (My Page) on Tue, Mar 11, 08 at 20:09
| If it helps Remy decide on her box I will pick #9. Shirley |
|
| Melissa, Lol! I'm going to try to explain again for you : ) In round one you pick a box. In round 2 your box can be stole, but you can't steal your original box back. Once your box is stolen, you end up with other person's box. So lets say I'm number 7 and I was holding a box and number 4 took my box. When it comes to my turn as number 7, I can't take my box back from number 4. Now, I have played like Shirley/Maryanne said above that once you box was stolen, you picked another. So the next player took a box after you replaced yours. But we just swapped out the boxes. So one a player stole a box, they gave the box they were holding to the player they stole from. Now Momcat should become the final turn being she is holding her own box that she constructed. You with me so far. Ok. I know Momcat wants box #6, and I would like #6, lol. If Momcat was allowed to pick one more time and take back the box she already picked( #6.) I'm not going to choose it, because I know Shirley doesn't want it, it is her own box that she constructed, so Momcat would get it. So if that is the case I'll take #7 since I know it won't probably get stolen from me(well, Shirley could still steal it,) lol, but that is my second choice. I obviously, like a bunch of others, like #6, and also though I've sent 2 boxes to Shirley, I've never received one from her. Does it all make sense now? : ) Remy |
|
| Clear as yesterdays coffee!!! I can fix this, I TAKE #6!!!! :) |
|

| holy ^&@$#*. this is why i didn't play this time, i was confused from the door!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyway, remy, you sound like you have the rules all together and it sure sounds right. so as it looks now, everyone has a box that they chose and all boxes are accounted for, correct? everyone straight on who get's their box? if so, let the swapping begin :-) maryanne |

| Well, Carol...I jumped the proverbial gun, and have already shipped my box to Amy. I assumed (and you know what that means) that since no one else had tried to steal it, that she was the only one that wanted it. SO...Off my box went to her house! On the other side of the fence, I think having names of those willing to trade with her would be great. I'll slap my name in the pot for her to choose from, if she would like. So she could grab #11, I'll play fair. :O) But I KNOW she wants box #6. LOL Melissa |

Also, I'd like to mention to you (or sosmeone else that may end up with box 7) that I have found some additional things you might like to substitute for something in the box (which is FULL at the moment). Pixie, I enjoyed meeting you had a great time. thankyou for the great steak dinner. thankyou all for your comments on Devira, she is a real cuddler. | carol, my goodness she is just too precious and i know how hard it is that you just can't get enough. God bless everyone. how is clarissa doing since she gave birth? what does the baby's name mean? i wasn't involved in your swap, but it appears everyone had a blast getting to the end result. now that i know how it works, if you ever run it again, i'll be sure to get involved. i sent you an email, hoping you got it. speaking of grandbabies, i actually got a "senior's" discount the other night because she was with me. i asked the woman if i looked old enough to qualify and she said she didn't think of it as a matter of age, she did it because i was a grandmom. no argument here, i'll take the discount. hi to everyone - hope you are all well. maryanne |
|
| Thanks, Veeja, for offering your box. To make this easier, for me, at least. I will just hang on to my box. I was going to go out and buy some Stargazer lily bulbs for myself, anyway, and the other goodies, I will just hang on to for now. I'm sure there will be many other opportunities to gift those. This month was really interesting, Can't wait to see what Susan has planned for next month. Deb |

Remy tells me momcat has another box and is happy so everyone mail your boxes to your partner. thankyou all for a fun swap. hugs carol |

| Remy-I was hoping to get your things dug this week-end but they are calling for rain tomorrow and Saturday so we will see. So glad everyone had fun with box #6 and I promise if I get your name in any of the swaps you will get a box similiar to that one, especially momcat (Deb) who was so sweet about it all. Maybe whoever does the April swap will let me have your name Deb. Even though the April theme is Salad Bar you can eat daylilies right? Got to get my house straightened up, my brother is coming tomorrow for a visit and we are taking him out to eat for his Birthday. Shirley |

| Hi All, Nothing exciting going on here. Though I am going to the Rochester Flower Show tomorrow so that is exciting. I am going to remember to take batteries for the camera this time. I'm not sure if anyone remembers that fiasco from last year. I went to take pics of the gorgeous delphiniums and my camera died. Susie, Momcat, Carol, April, Shirley, Gale, |

| Hi Everyone, Been having a few bumps here at home, sorry havn't been able to get on. My car has been having problems, my husband may have to have carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and we are one of the unfortunate ones who has a flex rate mortgage and been trying to get our mortgage modified. There is the very remote chance we could lose our home, so thingsa have been hectic here. Amy, I received my box today, thank you it was wondrful. Jeanne, Your box is going out tomorrow, I just got my car back today and had to work so didn't have a chance to get to PO. I am very sorry to be late. Hope you all are having a great time gardening and getting your boxes. Susan |

| Carol, I have your box all ready to go. I decided that if I mail the book and magazines separately by media mail, then I could squeeze a few surprises in the box. Gosh, I just remembered that I forgot to label one of the plants. Well, it is a Rex Begonia. The other ones I hope you don't already have. Anyway, they will go out tomorrow. Will post DC then. Just thought I'd let you know why you might receive one before the other. Theresa |

The other 3 have leaves & are looking quite good, all things considered! One has even branched out, and is about 12" tall and 6-8" wide. I have them growing behind my laundry room, so pretty soon, I hope to have the backside completely covered by blooming pretties! :O) Melissa |

| Melissa, Too bad about the one LJS, but I'm glad to hear the others are good. They made it through one winter, so they are good to go now! Don't worry, not this year(though 12 inches already!), but a couple years from now, you will have a wall of roses. I do plan on rooting more this year. I'm going to try to get them going sooner, so they all have extensive roots, not like last year where some had more than others. I'm still baffled by that, but now I know. Marie, Gale, Theresa, |

| I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice for starting a craft and seed round robin. I was thinking about having a limited amount of people and starting the box out with crafts I made and some seeds. It would go down the line for each person to take what they want and then come back to me at the end. Do you all think that would work or would it end up MIA? Thanks for your thoughts. Amy |
|
- Posted by sandlapper_rose z7B-8A SC (My Page) on Wed, Mar 19, 08 at 21:56
| Amy, The only Round Robin like that I participated in was one that had a Victorian theme - Victorian crafts and flowers (seeds for those flowers that would be grown in a Victorian garden.) It went very well and people put in great seeds and made wonderful craft items. I can't remember who it was who was hostess, but she kept very careful control over it and we had to tell what we took out at each stop and what we put in. I think most people took a digital picture and posted it before remailing so eveyone could see what was being sent. I have not participated in one that ended up MIA but sure have heard of that happening... not with Our Bloomin' Friends! I don't want to suggest that... just in reading through various Round Robins have seen people post that it happened. Good luck if you decide to do that. Jeanne |

| Amy, (a little OFF topic) I have a tote bag that you hand sewed from a previous craft RR and LOVE it (palm tree pattern on one side/blue, brown pebbled fabric on the other side). Jenell (Lunamoon) hosted the swap. It turned out well, everyone exchanged crafts and Jenell seemed happy with the RR. I know I really enjoyed it! Netta hosted the Victorian RR (seed/craft) that Jeanne mentioned, and that went VERY well too! Everyone added such nice items to the box it was so hard to choose what to take! My only advice would be is to check the feedback forum for each swap participant. Also, make sure that delivery confirmation is mandatory. So you can track the box at all times. I know I'll sign up! My box went out today for Theresa! USPS #0307 0020 0003 4320 4954. Marie, Deb |

| Hey Everyone! Boy is it windy here today, but I'm not complaining, considering Missouri and other areas terribly hit by flood waters. I can't believe how much is poking out of the ground. I dug up so much stuff last year and put it in pots just in case I moved and it looks like I'm still here Remy, I look forward to seeing pictures. I forgot one other type of feeder, so one of these days, it'll show up at your door. I'll wait until I have some other things to send. I took my mother out to dinner last night for her birthday. She wanted to go to Red Lobster. I'm a real food snob and I'm not big on chain restaurants, but my goodness, what an excellent meal we both had - from soup to nuts. I even started with a drink (Brandy Alexander). That's not something people make well but dang, if this bartender didn't hit the nail on the head. If I wasn't the driver, I would have had a second. Carol, are you ignoring me? Amy, I used to do some of the different round robins. Some were good, some were absolutely excellent and some were a complete bust. You have to set the tone, be really involved and set the rules and make sure who you are playing with is a respectable player. I know everyone has to start somewhere, but like you've already been told, read the forums and I'm sure you will recognize names when people begin to sign up. I love the craft idea. Luna used to make great earrings and always included them in these type robins. I'm just looking over the themes for the upcoming OBF swaps and they sound like fun. Hope everyone is well, |

| A man was blissfully driving along the highway, when he saw the Easter Bunny hopping across the middle of the road. He swerved to avoid hitting the Bunny, but unfortunately the rabbit jumped in front of his car and was hit. The basket of eggs went flying all over the place. Candy, too. The driver, being a sensitive man as well as an animal lover, pulled over to the side of the road, and got out to see what had become of the Bunny carrying the basket. Much to his dismay, the colorful Bunny was dead. The driver felt guilty and began to cry. A woman driving down the same highway saw the man crying on the side of the road and pulled over. She stepped out of her car and asked the man what was wrong. "I feel terrible," he explained. "I accidentally hit the Easter Bunny and killed it. There may not be an Easter because of me. What should I do? " The woman told the man not to worry. She knew exactly what to do. She went to her car trunk, and pulled out a spray can. She walked over to the limp, dead Bunny, and sprayed the entire contents of the can onto the little furry animal. Miraculously the Easter Bunny came to back life, jumped up, picked up the spilled eggs and candy, waved its paw at the two humans and hopped on down the road. 50 yards away the Easter Bunny stopped, turned around, waved and hopped on down the road another 50 yards, turned, waved, hopped another 50 yards and waved again!!!! The man was astonished. He said to the woman, "What in heaven's name is in your spray can? What was it that you sprayed on the Easter Bunny?" The woman turned the can around so that the man could read the label. It said: "Hair spray. Restores life to dead hair. Adds a permanent wave. Happy Easter Ladies!!! |

| Hello ladies and happy every Holiday I missed. To those of you who do know me, I am back and mentally back on track (I think). To those of you who don't, well I was I am a member, love everyone here. Went away to do some great mission work and had some very tragic things happen. Many hours of therapy later, and actually returning to the Dominican I think I have healed, I am not bitter, sad, or frightened to leave my house any more. I am able to talk about it and I feel that I can share with postive feelings now. But enough of that. Am I to late for April? Please tell me that I can play in April? Max is 4 and we just looked at Co-op preschool. HE is a mama's boy and didn't want to go to big boy school yet. Maryanne~ I have a box for you that I need to send, but um lost your address.. | Laura-What a pleasant surprise to see your post. You just never know when an old friend will re-surface. LOL I guess that is why we should always keep an open mind about someone joining back in at some point. I thought Max was around 4 now because my GDS will be 4 in May and I knew they were about the same age. Please post a picture of him when you can. Are you still doing the beautiful jewelry? I know many of us have a piece of your jewelry. Remy-So glad you received your box, have fun with all that planting. I have one of the picture frames like I sent you and just love it. They were made in India. I have never seen such a cute butterfly. LOL Shirley |

| LAURA! I'm so glad to see you post! (It wasn't there last night when I posted.) Welcome back : ) I was just thinking of you. I don't think April's stuff isn't up yet so don't worry about being late : ) Yes, as Shirley said it would be nice to see a pic of Max now. I'm sure he's grown a lot. Has anyone talked to Susan about starting a new thread for April? |
