NEW: Craft box Swap #2

Debra Andruska

I would love to host a craft box swap again.

The last one I hosted went very well.

Please sign up on this thread directly, plus send me your GW name/real name, address. Also, I need a brief description of your craft items. I'll do my best to pair you up with someone that doesn't make the exact same crafts.

Please be generous, include several of your items. The general rule is- prepare a box that you would love to receive.

Homemade items are the best! Soaps, candles, jewelry, handmade teddybears, etc. Any craft item is fine to include in this swap!

Also, please post when your box goes out and arrives. We would love to hear about all the neat things you received!

I'll take signups for the next week *March 24th*

Mail all boxes out the second week of April-- 16th deadline.

    Hi Deb,

I'm also going to try my hand at some decorative painting on a picture frame and a wooden trinket box, besides the teddy bears and the ornaments. We'll see how much painting I get done in the next couple weeks (the 2 teddy bears are already finished). Now that the weather has turned toward spring, I can spend more time outside. Hooray!

Heather, your family sounds wonderfully talented. I would love to take pottery classes someday. My great grandparents were underglaze slip artists for the Weller, Roseville, Cambridge, and Owens potteries in Ohio, around the turn of the 19th century, so I have an interest in learning to decorate pottery myself. I'm just curious: what kind/style of pottery does your family like to create?

Laurel dont get too excited lol the girls are only 10 and 11 no they do a nice job. they mostly make bonsai seed starters, doll house pieces excuse me Bratz house, beads to paint, figures/statues depending on which one you ask Thay have both won some art awards at school though. With winters as lond as they are here we try to keep busy. I had the box in my thoughts today as I was working on the master bedroom walls and came up with a project for the girls to make to add to the box so everyone here is excited about the box

Hey, everyone starts somewhere! LOL, your girls must have fun with the pottery. My daughter (5) loves art and crafts. She's participating in a kids garden gift exchange via GW soon, and she's very excited. I remember making beads from a kit when I was a kid, trying to create "pottery" from clay near our house, and I LOVED doing ceramics in art class. Some things never change - dirt is still one of my favorite things to play with.

The swaps much smaller than I expected. Everyone must be busy catching up on yard/garden work. Still, this can be fun...just a little more cozy!

    Heather,

Your box arrived today! Thank you for the great items you and your family made. The cutting board is beautiful as well as useful - please thank your husband for me, I really appreciate his contribution to the box. I'll be using it a lot, since I love to cook. The macrame plant hanger is PERFECT, and I'll find a place for it right away. The large crocheted doily is pretty, and I really like the blue/cream color. It reminds me of the lovely crocheted items my great grandmother used to make. The scrapbook frame is perfect for my daughter's bedroom, too.

My little girl was delighted with her special bracelet (especially the kitty cat bead on it), and I gave her the blue/purple crocheted amulet bag to keep it in. She's carrying them around right now - thank you for making her day. And, last but not at all least, I just love the lapis lazuli bead bracelet. It fits perfectly! What a lovely surprise.

    Thank you VERY much, Heather!

Glad you liked it. The lapis is my fav I call my bracelet my little piece of the earth because the beads remind me of pics of the earth from space.

    Heather,
You did such a nice job on your craft box! Good variety of items!

    Jenn,
Please contact me ASAP. I need your email address (to forward Heather's info to you), plus your personal info so I can mail your package out.

I worked on the cutest wooden birdhouse today! I whitewashed the house yesterday and embellished it with greenery/vines today. I'll finish it tonight (after going to Michael's craft store and picking up a few birds to add). It's turning out so cute, I'll have to make one for myself! I'll see if I can post a picture tonight! Plus, I want to post a picture of Laurel's bears!

    This is so much fun!

I'm glad the box arrived on time. With priority you really never know. ;) Did the wooden bunny survive the trip? Just checking. I had my fingers crossed that he wouldn't break. Let me know.. Plus, I used a little extra hot glue around his steel hanger/arms.
