http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/sassygirl/New Gifs/New Funny Gifs/DebesuesGifs/petalpusher3.jpg

This is a Perennial Trade Group that was set up to be a safe and fun place to trade. We trade Hostas, Daylilies, Bulbs, Cannas, ect... We also trade non-plant items, tall tales, wonderful friendships, and shoulders when needed from time to time. Through the cold months when trading plants is out of the question we will find other things to trade. Anyone wishing to join this group has to have traded with one of the active members, you will need to email that member and ask them to recommend you to the group. The Petal Pushers are a SAFE TRADE ZONE!!!

Hello Beth and all you other ladies this morning! I wish I could send everyone some of our rain. Seems to rain almost daily. Then the sun comes out and it's like a steam bath, but still lots of rain. Weeds are growing faster than the plants!
Beth thanks for the nice wishes. I too am hoping that things work out. Still having faith until I know for positive. With my strong family hx of breast ca, I do my mammograms faithfully. Well this one showed some things and so went the other day and did ultrasound. Dr. seemed concerned and is sending me to do MRI on Monday. He didn't say much just that we weren't wasting anytime! Since then I have call after call from different places (at breast care center in Fayetteville, his office, etc. for this test, checking on funding, etc.)! Well, that bothers me more than what he said. Seems they definitely think something is amiss! So anyway if they need to do something will be doing asap. So could use all the prayers and best wishes I can get! Especially so soon after what went on with my mother, who I miss dearly!
But I am still hoping to keep digging and planting and enjoying my gardens!!
Have a great day everyone! Melinda

    Hello Ladies,

I thought I would drop in and see what might be going on. Seems its pretty dead around here. I hope everyone is having a great summer filled with lots of blooms.

Melinda, Hope all is well and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Please keep us informed.

Now to the rest of you ladies, If any of you are interested in a Swap let me know and we will get one together. I don't want to post one if there is no interest.

Ok I have lots to do today so will check back later. Have a Great Week!!

Melinda, I'll be thinking about you and asking for prayers from people I know. Serious health issues are so beyond our control that it is frightening. I'm sending you a hug.

Melinda-Sorry to hear you are having health issues but we must think positive and pray daily for you and hope the MRI turns out ok. I'm a strong believer in prayer, keep the faith and I will be thinking and praying for you tomorrow. Sorry you lost your Mom to cancer. Big hugs coming your way.

Beth-The rain situation is still not good here, we have had a few showers but not any really good rain. We need days and days of rain right now. Yes a nice tired hurricane with lots of rain would be nice.

Deni-I would love to be in the next swap. At this point in time I guess we should wait until after the daylilies are through blooming.

Hope everyone has a nice July 4th week. I got married on July 4th and the Justice of the Peace told DH and I that we gained our Independence on July 4th and we were losing it on July 4th. He was right

Thanks to all you wonderful ladies who are praying and the kind words! I am staying as positive as I can until they tell me different. Will hopefully find out something tomorrow.
Hope everyone's gardens are lovely! We are getting so much rain! Don't have to water but some of the stuff is rotting! Terrible. Some of it loves it! Wish I could send some of it to you that need it so bad!
If I am able would love to do a swap! Melinda

Melinda, I pray everything works out for you. You have a fantastic attitude and my money is on you, no matter what lies ahead.
I would love to do a swap, but it is too dry for me right now. I am participating in a houseplant swap while my garden waits for relief. We have had .38 inch of natural rain since April 30 and I am losing plants because of water restrictions. If someone has a glass of water in their hand I follow them around asking "Are you going to finish that?"
Any day now, this hex is bound to lift and the rain will come.

Melinda-Please let us know as soon as you hear from your MRI tests. Still have you in my thoughts and praying, praying, praying. LOL Send Alana and I some rain.

Sounds like some neighbors are celebrating the 4th a little early. Keep hearing firecrackers going off.

Susie-Would love to get your box out this week if you will LMK what you would like from my plants. Everything you sent is looking great. I will send you some lists.

Happy Fourth of July everyone!! (Don't know how to do those cool things!)
Well, I am still waiting to hear from my dr. Did the MRI on Monday afternoon. The dr. there said that he saw a few things but didn't seem too concerned. Said he wanted to do an ultrasound. I told him I had done that and that was why I was there! Then many discussions about type of cancer mother had and he was going to look at her MRI's again and they would send the films to the breast specialist the next morning and they would call! Well NO CALL!! And today is a holiday!! So guess I won't know anything until tomorrow! But I feel good about the outcome and am hoping all is fine. Maybe they will just check every 3 to 6 months or something!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day with family and all! Melinda

Melinda-Thanks for letting us know. It's good they are keeping such a watchful eye on things. I remember your Mom trading and posting on GW. She was an outstanding lady.

Happy July 4th to everyone......I love this Country and oh soooooooo proud to be an American.

    Hi All,
    Just checking in.....

    Shirley~

Melinda ~ Hope all goes well with you! Sending positive thoughts your way!

Hope everyone had a great 4th!

Deni~ Would love to do a swap but nothing in the garden faired very well this year with the drought and all....hardly anything bloomed like it normally should....just amazing what the lack of rain water will do! Makes us appreciate the rain...... Only have seeds, brugs, hostas, daylily's right now. A lot of my beloved ferns have dried up along with several of my favorite hostas and let's not even talk about the vegetable garden...I've tried to keep them watered but with restrictions it gets a bit challenging.
Maybe we can come up with something creative for the next trade? Maybe an end of summer/R&R pamper, houseplant or garden art theme?!

DH got bit by a spider last week and couldn't walk and in a tremendous amount of pain, he had to have the poision cut out...he's was bit by a brown recluse. So he's off from work indefinately.....ugh!
Then I had to go out of town for a homegoing.... lost 1 family member and a good friends mom last week...but all is well!

We need a good soaking around here.....this has been the worst drought here in 50 years....

Off to keep cool, everyone take care!

    Big HUGS to ALL!

Good Morning everyone! Hope some of you are getting some of the rain! Still getting plenty here! Slowed a little but got tons yesterday and night before! Can't keep up with the weeds!
Update on the MRI-will be going to the surgery clinic on the 20th! Taking out the lump and then some tissue around. If that is good around then won't do anything else. If not then will worry about it then! But I think we got it in time and am staying positive! Please continue the nice thoughts and prayers! Appreciate them.
Next, Hazelnutbunny would love to join our group. I definitely recommend her, but if anyone has a problem please let Deni or I know and if not we can let her join! Thanks alot!
Jaye-sure hope your husband is better now from his spider bite! Those can be horrible things!
Have a great day everyone and thanks again for the comforting words and thoughts! Melinda

  • brittneysgran

Melinda-Thinking about you and so glad to see your post. WE must think positive and know the surgery will get it all. I wrote it on my calendar and will be praying for you on the 20th and every day.
Hazelnutbunny what a cute name. I'm sure if she comes under your recommendation she's in. I say yes.

Jaye-How scary about the spider bite, I've heard the brown recluse is a nasty fellow. Sorry to hear about your family member and all. WE are getting some good rains here hope you are to. Thanks for the congratulations.

    Where is everybody?

Finally, a little less than half an inch of rain here today! Not much in the face of an 18 inch deficit, but I am hopeful that it is an omen that more will follow before long.
Best wishes for Melinda that all will be well.
Hazelnutbunny get's a thumbs up from me, too.

Welcome hazelnutbunny (Melissa) great to have you here.

Melinda good thoughts coming your way.

I went up to my garden this evening with Q-tips...thought I'd have to hand pollinate all my melons. To my surprise there were melons all over the place. Don't know how I missed them. All my veggies this year are heirlooms. I sure hope everyone has gotten some rain. We have been so lucky here. It rains at least once a week. Heat has been a problem though 98 degrees yesterday. My garden is loving it tomatoes 5 1/2 to 6' tall.

My little sister lives in Tucson, AZ. They discovered a mass on her thyroid during a routine CAT Scan of her spine. She'll be having a complete thyroidectomy within the next few weeks. Problem is she also has MS and is in a wheelchair. I'm really worried about her, she is out there without any family to take care of her.

    Take care everyone,
    Mariann

Melinda-I have not forgotten you...Special thoughts and prayers for you today...Today is also my Son's Birthday, he will be 32 yrs old. Gosh that makes me feel old.

Mariann-Sorry to hear that news about your sister...I wish her the best...It's tough when your family is so far away.

Everyone must really be busy out in those gardens.

Just a note to say hello to everyone! Hope all is well with everyone and gardens are doing well!
I am doing fine! Thanks for all the great thoughts and prayers! They worked! I just had a small lump and it was all encapsulated and tissue around was good! So now just have to do a mammogram in 6 months and doing fine! Little sore but not bad. Doubt it'll even leave much of a scar!! I am definitely doing the happy dance!! LOL!! Melinda

Melinda, what wonderful news!!!So glad to hear it.
Hope other folks are doing well too.
I have not been around much as I have had sick turtle at work . Medicating and force feeding him every day every few hours was a two person job so another co worker and I volunteered to go even when we were not working. Not a big deal compared to all the other things in the world but it sure was important for the turtle.
    Has anyone heard from Deni???

  • brittneysgran

This group is oh so quiet. I know how busy July is though. We are finally getting some much needed rain. The grass is getting green again and plants are thriving.

Beth-That sounds like you nursing a sick turtle. The best thing that ever happened to that turtle is you finding it I'm sure.

We should get an August swap together. I will e-mail Deni and see what she thinks. My daylilies are almost gone, just a few late bloomers left. It's always sad when you see the last ones finish blooming. Then of course we have dahlias and cannas that bloom until the frost gets them so that is refreshing.

    Take care.

Sassy-You would make a great supervisor....I'm sure if Deni has time and sees this post is alive again she might be back. This group really took off and then kinda fell behind.

Sept and Oct would be great months for swaps before our plants go to sleep.

    I'm in.

I, for one, was not unhappy to see this group lose interest. I started the "Make New Friends" group because all the swap groups forming were excluding new members. There was this big need to be "exclusive" which goes against everything I believe in. Please consider making this group more friendly to new people if you decide to continue with it.
    Just my two cents.
    Thanks. diene

how does one join this group? thanks for any info, vickie

  • brittneysgran

Actually so many of us were getting taken on plant trades that groups began to form with known traders. Some groups come and go with each new post but these groups have been active with members for years. Most groups have a leader and you have to ask permission to join and have traded with someone in the group. Since Deni has supposedly given up on this group we need a new leader. Hopefully Sassy will take the group.

    Shirley

  • galium

Sassy I think it would be great if you took over this group.

I emailed Deni about 2 days ago but haven't heard anything back. Hope all is well with her.

Looking forward to this group restarting.

    Tidewaterlilly,
Check out the Make New Friends Group. Newcomers are not only welcomed but encouraged; no references necessary. To my knowledge, there has not been a single bad trade.

  • sassyd

Not a problem, I'll be happy to host the swap each month. No one will be excluded that wants to join. But I will ask that any new people we're not familar with to send their end first. I don't think thats unreasonable. Let me re-group so to speak and I'll start a new post asking for signs ups. And thanks girls for thinking of me.

    Sassy

Glad to get the ball rollin' here AGAIN! YEAAH!

As I stated......I wanted to SEE what would happen...It IS a safe place to trade. I agree with the "send your part FIRST" idea for all newcomers.

Sassy I think you would make an awesome SUP. Should we vote or just go with it?

    I'm In.....either way!

Great to see all the responses....

1 other thing, I know from hosting them, NO WAY do you want to be responsible to keep track of every month, keeping track of the people will be hard enough on 1 person, but I think hosting should be a shard thing amongst us all? JM2pennies..:)Anita

    Hello Sassy;
I am thrilled to hear that this will be another group that new people can join. That is great. Good luck with this group it is a big undertaking. If you do need help at any point, hollar!! diene

  • sassyd

Thanks diene! I feel better having your approval and I think I'll have lots of girls willing to help. If not, I'll handle it. I may have to walk outside once in awhile and yell but what else is new! lol Well I'm off of here for tonight, got to spend the night at my daughters, they're leaving a 3 am and I have to stay with the baby, so gotta go sleep while I can, though she always sleeps through the night. But this may be the one night she doesn't, lol. I'll check in tommorrow. If I'm doing this, I will come up with my own rules, and it will not be limited to 'no newbies' but it will be fair to everyone. I want everyone to feel welcome. Anita, thanks for the advise and believe me, I heard you and know what you mean. Thanks girl!

    Goodnite!
