Hello Everyone! We're all in various stages of planting and enjoying our gardens, so I thought we'd make this month an easy one. Instead of swapping blocks or charms, this time we're going to exchange fat quarters of fabric!
What's a fat quarter you ask? I'm glad you asked! If you cut a half-yard length of fabric (18" x 42") into two pieces along the narrow dimension (18") instead of along the 42" length, you end up with two quarter-yard pieces, each 18" x 21". Those are called "fat quarters" to distinguish them from the less useful 9" x 42" quarter yards.
We will all be mailing out (2) fat quarters (18"x21"), and anything but a solid color will do. Yep, that's right, NO SOLID COLORS! After all, we can get those at our own local fabric store, right? The objective for this month is to hopefully receive fabric which you possibly couldn't find locally. Some examples of what to send are florals, novelty prints, batiks, etc. Use your imagination.
You can choose to mail to one, two, or three people.
For each package you send, you will receive a package of two fat quarters.
We'll take sign-ups until June 3rd, I'll announce partners on the 4th, and we should get those packages out by the 10th.
If you would like to include something else with your fabric quarters, you may do so. Examples would include seeds, bobbins, a card, etc. These are optional though.
So, who wants to get some new fat fabric quarters?
-Dan
p.s. If you'd like me to send you a reminder a few days before I choose partners, drop me an e-mail and I'll be glad to do so.
