| Yet another beautiful daylily, Shirley. One of these days, I just have to visit your gardens! What a great memory you have - I do remember that swap and now I have to wonder why Carol would never have repeated it in OBF! Great concept. I am going to guessd 40,000. I love all these boxes - how hard to make a choice. Vina, you are in the absolute best position!!!!! Boy did I luck out at the big orange do it yourself store. I went in looking for a tiller, which they didn't have, and went through the garden center. The worker was putting a pallet of all the ripped bags of mixed things like mulch, soils, rocks. walked by just as he was shrink wrapping the stack. had no clue what was underneath what i could see from the top. asked him what he was doing with it and he said taking it up front to sell. told him i would buy it, then i ask the price...he tells me $10. i say $8 would be better. So he holds it for me and charges me eight bucks and then loads it in my car. not too shabby. i got one bag of black mulch, two of brown, three bags of white rocks, two bags of pine bark mulch, one bag of manure/humus and one large and one medium sized bag of scotts garden/vegetable soil - heck the large bag of that is 8 or more. each of them had some tear or rip in the bag, but they were all full. i hit definite paydirt being in the right place at just the right time. i've never seen that in all the years i go into those type stores. spent saturday gardening my mountain cabin and everything got put to great use. weather was fabulous today, even though most of my day was spent indoors, i did get an opportunity to be out and enjoying it! have a great tuesday! |

| Maryanne - I love finding those kind of deals. Lowes charges half the price if the bag is torn and I love to find those bags. You really got a super deal. Will see who is the closest on the guesses when I get home this eve. Shirley |

| Wow, terrific deal, Maryanne!! I wish I had your kind of luck! :) Shirley...I will guess 33,475. |

| Sue you remind me of a cleaners down the street from where we used to live, they had a sign that said we clean weeding gowns. do you have one |
|
| Carol, I do appreciate your kind words. That is what this group's original philosophy was and still is, I believe. It's all about giving...not seeing what you can get. Giving is fun. Shirley, rain? You can HAVE it. My sister in SE Iowa got 4" on Monday night and 5" last night...yes, a total of 9" in almost a 24 hour period. Hubs and I bought plastic barrels 2 years ago to make rain barrels. Have not even set them up as we have had more than enough rain. Hurry up! I want to steal a box! |

| come on Faye poor Mellen and poorer yet miss Vina need a turn and poor carol needs an address to send her box to. funny while out there digging I found lav pixi is gone but raspberry pixi is there, I also promise none of the noids will be orange ditch, don't allow her in my yard. got two guppies about a month ago along with 4 plattys. had to set up another tank for females only must have 50 now gotta stop the breeding, thought it easier to move one male platty to female guppy tank rather than 7 females but found out male platty will breed with female guppy creating pluppys. how do I get into these messes ? hugs carol |

| I don't think anyone is worried about it, Big Sis! We all know you wouldn't send ditch lilies. :) Now that my dl's have started blooming, I'm able to ID most of them. So I know I'll be sending these in my box: Lazy Summer Days, Strawberry Candy, Fairytale Pink & Tang. A few of the iris I"ll be sending are Jurassic Park, Whoop 'em Up & New Snow. Too little, too late to add to the box description, I know. loL! But I thought I would also say I'm not sending ditch lilies....in case anyone was worried about it. :o) |

| Faye, it turned out that others had to reshuffle after someone stole a box. Now that you chose box 9 from Sue, now she has to choose another box/steal a box. So stay tuned, you may not end up with box 9 in the reshuffle and you may have to choose again if that happens. Hope you can check in fairly often now. No pressure, LOL, since I am next. :))) |

No matter what I do I cannot grow columbine from seed to save my life. It starts out ok, but then it dies off. Does anyone have any advise. I feel so frustrated! Sue N. |

| Good morning. Just checking in to see what's happening. I wonder which box Vina will choose. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Shirley, thanks for the tip on growing columbines from seed. I have some seed left over that I will throw on the ground and see what happens. I hope everyone has a great day. The sun is shining and the birds are singing here today so I will try to spend as much time as possible outdoors. Oh, and tomorrow is Father's Day so I have to prepare for that as well. DH just wants me to grill him a steak. Luckily, the fire station is right across the street, lol, since grilling is not one of domesticated skills. Sue N. |

| Wow, the game is still going on! You ladies sure are having fun. Just my comments on columbine seeds - I always winter sow them and they never fail to come up. I leave them in the winter sowing jug for several weeks before transplanting them. (I cut the top off the milk jug once it gets very hot and sunny here... doesn't take long.) Then I plant them in the ground. Mine are in a location that gets morning sun. I water almost every day, but that is what I need to do for nearly all of my garden. I never grew columbines until about 5 years ago, but now I wouldn't do without them. I love those interesting flowers and they come in so many colors! Have a good weekend, everyone, and Happy Father's Day to the dads. Jeanne |

Sooooo...gonna beg hubby to pick up a shovel on his way home tonight (I hold no hopes of finding the other one, not since I know the kiddos had it last!! and besides, the handle was broken ANYWAY, so I figure I *need* a new one. I'm thinking a nice red fiberglass handled one...LoL!!), and I'll get to work in the AM. |

| Wow, the ground has to eat that many knives for you not to find them. I lose gloves ALL THE TIME. I'll take them off to do something, walk away, and then wander around looking for them for 10 minutes. Usually give up and go in the house to get another pair. In the fall when things are dying back, I usually find them, right where I originally left them, but they had been covered by leaves or a drooping plant. | When everyone has guessed I will let you know about the meal items. Oh Vine yes the gloves I lose those to. I buy extra knives at yard sales and thrift stores I lose so many. Shirley |

| Hi everyone. Glad to know I'm not the only one missing things out in the garden beds. Knives, mallet, scissors, gloves, my peace of mind!!!!!! and shirley, painting the handles another color really doesn't help either. Gosh, i remember one time hunting for hours looking for my uncle's brand spanking new hearing aid. what a pain in the butt that was. never did find it. melissa, it is tough digging with a spade, been there, done that, will probably do it again. i have several shovels, but only one that is really broken in, is the right weight, feels perfectin my hands, that i always gravitate towards. the others, well, they do okay in a pinch, but nothing i want to spend the day with! thanks for posting the remainder of the year. i think i should start getting things together now for the coming months so that i am ahead of the game and can play and play fair within the tmie frame. may absolutely killed me!!!! can't see the daylily you posted, shirley. for some reason at work, i can't get pix. but i'll guess anyway, although maybe it's not fair since i won in one of your earlier games. i'm going to say you had a hot dog and beans! hope everyone has a great day! maryanne |

| i stand corrected - i said daylily...i meant iris. still can't see it, but....... |
|
| Maryanne, hot dog and beans...that is what WE had for supper last night. Good job! LOLOL ME |
|
| I guess strawberries, spinach, chicken, bacon... Ok maybe that' s what I want for dinner. |

| I have a theory on items that go missing in my garden. I think it's either the garden fairies or the gnomes, most like the gnomes since the garden fairies are so tiny I don't think they can carry that much weight, or are they like the ants? lol! Ok...time for my medication now, I've been out in the sun too long! Have a good day everybody! Sue N. |

| Heidi's box is on it's way. DC# 0311 0820 0000 7216 1943 Still didn't find my shovel...but got it done anyway! :) If I lose my gloves, it's my own fault..I'd like to blame the kids or the dog, but I can't. LoL! Now...the dog LOVES hubby's gloves. She's eaten 5 pairs! I tell him it's because they smell like "daddy", and she just misses him. :P Guess she doesn't like me as much! For Shirley's supper, I'll guess salad, shrimp, bread & wine. It's too hot here for a heavy supper! :o) |
|
| Hi All, I got Sue G's bot on its way. I have a DC# just not on me. Maryanne, Shirley, |

| I'm making DH read these posts..he thinks I'm losing my mind losing all the knives. Sometimes I've thought maybe Hannah or someones dog finds them and carries them off, you would think I could find them sooner or later. OK we need to make it a little easier and everyone can guess again. Maryanne feel free to guess on this as well. Be more specific Shirley |
|
| Mellen, This is the clematis you sent a couple years ago in a swap. It is blooming on the arbor with the bench you liked so much. Remy |

|
| Oh, Remy, I LOVE that clematis. I really wish I had good luck with them. But I haven't given up trying. I will guess sirloin steak, pork and beans, green beans, and tomato. |

| Hi everyone. I am home safe and sound. I was gone longer than expected. Carol, I got both your boxes! and the plants are all alive and great! You sent so much in those boxes. I received 3 noid daylilies I am sorry about posting late. I am so far behind with my daughter's wedding details and going out of town and all. Sorry that I haven't sent your box out Vina. I plan to mail it on Thursday. I have to run. Talk to you all later. Almost forgot, April, I am so sorry about your house. I know you will have better things in the future. God bless you and your family. Sue N. |
|
| REMY, I sent your box out in today's mail...and it isn't even July(yet?) DC#0310 2640 0000 6712 6170 I'm afraid I had to do a couple of substitutions--the lavender, geranium-Carol, and hosta-Big Mama had bit the dust....well, actually, they drowned. BUT, I think you will be okay with what I sent in their place. I think I added an extra plant, too. Hope you like it all, and it arrives in good condition. I really pushed to get it out today since tomorrow we are to be in a 'heat advisory.' Hoping the box can stay one step ahead of the heat. Lots of craziness here, but we will survive! |

I don't know how you fit everything into the box! Thank you. The hosta and Geranium switches were fine with me. The one Hosta looks very cute, Golden Friendship. I wanted Purple Pillow Geranium so thank you!(I can't read the name of the other geranium that I wrote, but it looked very cute.) Thank you also for switching out the Strawberry Candy Daylily for Lady ?(I can't read my writing and now it is dark out there, lol) since you know I had that one. You somehow got a Weeping Forythia in the box! Oh and the Lilac looks great! Thank you so much!! SUE G.! |

| I am a little concerned if faye received her box. I sent it a while ago and it was confirmed delivered.... FAYE IF YOU ARE OUT THERE... LET ME KNOW :o) Heidi |
|
| Just got back from MO trip. No computer so happy to see here that you got your box, Remy. I believe the geranium was "Memories." AND, the daylily was Lady Eva. I bought a half-dozen of those as that is pretty close to the name/nickname of our grandbaby-to-be. We head to MN this coming week-end to help the 'kids' move into the house they bought. They just closed on it last week so they have been busy painting the baby's room and their bedroom. Can't wait to see the house. Of course, I will be taking plants to share. :) Nice boxes being exchanged! |

| I just received the most WONDERFUL box from Miss Sue! It was so big, it took 2 kids to carry it. :) And MERCY, I just about fell out of my chair when I saw how much it cost to mail! Prices are getting ridiculous!! I tried to keep track of everything as I unwrapped them, but I had 4 little helpers (the girls helped me...the boys couldn't have cared less- they know they're going to be recruited to help plant later on! LoL!) so I didn't get everything written down. But everything looks great, nothing is wilted! Which was SO surprising, considering the heat! Thank you SO MUCH, Miss Sue! You outdid yourself with a WONDERFUL box, and I absolutely LOVE everything! |
