Melissa, I will be gone for a few days starting tomorrow, my brothers wife died unexpectadly (sp) today so we are going to Okla tomorrow. I STILL will get your box in the mail on Monday though, I am taking a "plant cooler" plus my Dad has such a beautiful garden I will probably get cuttings of things from him, if ya don't want them hmmm well either they go in the trash or ya just smile and shake your head and stick them in the dirt somewhere. J/K I will email you before and ask first.

well it has been sprinkling since midnight a whole 1/2 " of rain , the heavy rain was yesterday about 1 mile up the road & not a drop here :( I will be sure that my next home will be in a rain belt area :))

Dad's urologist just called they had canclelation for 8am tomorrow so will be taken him in tomorrow to set up the apt for his prostrate surgery .

Deb, I hope you got the email about the box. I really am worried about the stress I put on the plants as I packed them, you will see when you unpack the box.

Annie, Thank you and girlie girl you just tell me when you need barrels of rain water and I will ship you some from "Fox" Lake (our backyard!!!). We had 4" yesterday and 2" today, not that I am complaining, WAITTT yes I ammmm, tired of the rain here in Houston! I can say its helping the grass and my mud (not "MUD" my dog).

wow, how about that pipe that blew underground in new york. quite scarey. geeze,i take way too much for granted.

sassy, i've been waiting for the cookbook swap - cooking and gardening, right up my alley. so, cookbook, remy's idea of a local item and what about a plant that has a food name in it? like say root beer iris (that's the only one i can think of off the top of my head). it's your swap, do it your way! !!!!! oh and i sure hope you got my email about the coop left over daylilies. hope you got to order some.

i've had been spending so much time with the baby. she turned one on tuesday. having a big party for her in a couple of weeks. i'll have to post some of her new pix if i ever upload them.

my orientals are all coming into bloom. tom pounce is one i highly recommend. it's a massive bloom and the scent is ever so intoxicating.

well, off to check email. had problems with server for the last few days and there's a ton of them.

Hi All,
It has been a busy few days. Another one of my nephews had a birthday party. This one had the reptile guy come. I love that! I'm not squeamish about snakes, frogs, etc. In fact I was one of the kids holding a snake scaring the other kids when I was small, lol.
My friend at work's son got in to the top ten on So You Think You Can Dance. That is very exciting. He gets to go on a tour of the country when the show is over no matter what happens now. They do make a stop in Buffalo, but I think they are going to need a bigger place or a couple of nights here. Oh and if he makes it a couple more weeks, they will fly my friend out to see the show. She though they wouldn't do that so I'm so excited for her.

anyway he was all excited for i had gotten a box from remy :)) well my hands were muddy so yep I let dad use his jackknife to cut the tape,

when he got the box open he said theres another box so again he open the other box witch was wrapped in xmas paper hold tight remy & take in mind he's an old farmer

ihave the worst &*^%^&*( case of poison ivy, worse than i've ever had in my life. if you saw me, you would think i was from another planet, or a horror movie. i can't do a freakin thing, because clothes aren't all that compfortable, so i'm stuck in the house, staring out the window at blooms i should be photographing and scraping wallpaper off the spare room. it's been painted over, so it's a total PITA to get off. so far i've wet the walls and scraped what i could, i purchased a steamer, and that sucks and today i used DIF, and that's not working real well either. i've decided to totally remake my house, room by room and i plan on doing every bit of it and then i'll probably drop dead.

sad news in my family. my neice, who got married in april, her husband just learned he has a very rapidly spreading cancer - he doesn't have a long life ahead. my sister, who has had major heart problems, stents, angio and all that other stuff that goes along with it, was just hospitalized for chest pains and they had to do some other procedure and my BIL's mom is on her way out with lung cancer. when it rains it pours.

on a positive note, the baby just turned one. her birthday celebration is pushed ahead a few weeks until this grandmom's poison ivy clears up. and the fake dil is up to her mental nonsense again.

okay, enough blabbering, i'm itchy as all that and can't use anything to stop it due to allergic reactions to the ingredients in those products.

NEW GIRLS, get your Q's back as soon as possible.

Maryanne-I feel for you I get that stuff every year. One thing though it has never gotten on my face just body, arms and legs. The best thing you can do is take the hottest shower ever when it gets unbearable. The hot shower is the only way I can sleep without scratching all night. It helps to dry it up too. Sorry to hear about all the bad news with your family. Keeping you and your family in my prayers. God Bless you all during all this. I cannot believe little punkin is one year old. Where does time go. Sheesh, it was only awhile back that she was born. Post pictures of the party I want to see her.

Maryanne, I just emailed you for the questionaire, I will return it asap. Like Melissa, am also very excited to become a member of this group! Your family will be in our prayers also. I am also sorry about the poison Ivy YUCKIE, I am one of the fortunate ones that is not allergic to it by all my boys can stand far away from the stuff and the wind will blow it on them and they are covered bad in itchies! I feel for you. We use a stuff called CalaGel by Oaks-N-Ivy, its clear and really helps the itch and dries it quickly. Wal-mart carries it.

ANYWAY, nothing was working. I tried all the home remedies, EVERYTHING, and then a co-worker told me to try Jewelweed salve.
I did, and it cleared it up by the next day!! I am not kidding! I was amazed...I usually think my co-worker is full of bologna...but he knew what he was talking about this time.

There's a place on Ebay that sells it, it's $7.95 (includes shipping). The sellers name is Jewelweed44, Go to their store, they also have soaps. They ship out very quickly too, within a day or 2. (which feels like forever when you're suffering!)

It can also be used to prevent breaking out, just put some on before you work out side, and remember to wash it off and reapply when you get back in.
It works great that way, my kids haven't gotten poison ivy all summer, and they play in it all the time! (they usually get it horribly!)

Now that I've butted in...I'll back out. lol :O)

MELISSA : It is Not called butting in when any of our new & older friends can give us a few trusted & tried tips :))

I had sent earthly/maryanne some tansy plant to plant in her garden when it gets tall cut & hang it to dry .
then bag it up like tea . when you get the poison Ivy or oak steep this like tea then use a cotton ball to put it on the IVY . this will dry the Ivy up the same as those exspensive meds . some drink it also I don't care for the taste .

I have loads of it so let me know if you want any for your gardens .

That is horrible about getting blisters. I have gotten allergic blisters from being operated on so now I have to have the no latex thing when I go to the hospital. Funny thing is for all my allergies, I, like Trina, have never had a reaction to poison ivy.

Sorry i have been MIA. I thought the knee situation was fixed. it was for a bit. Now its both knees. I cant hardly walk. i spend most of the time sitting with them straight out supported by a pillow. and to top it off my stupid self tried to remove some brush 2 weeks ago from at edge of our woods. There went the back too. Dr did blood work today. I get results in coulple days. he thinks i have an infection in my joints or the rheumatoid arthritis is majorly flaring up.
Ive even missed some good stuff on the Co-Op!

Understated Elegance is a wonderful rebloomer, since the first bloom is hasn't stopped, still blooming its heart out here.

this evening so I have to go get ready :) but first I have to go get pooh bear 's ,lion kings mickeys & minies , out of my car just cleaned out a friends bedroom what a pack rat she is 3 boxes of disneys in my car to sort out for my yard sale . & ty & beanie babies . :))

DH went for an ultra sound on his thyroid this morning. I hate the waiting game, but got good news, the blood tests came back ok that he had done on Monday so that is a +.

today i'm catching up here at home after going shopping to fill the pantry once again :) i have my meats marinating for my kabobs tonight . dad does not like bar-b- que but he loves my veggie & fruit k-bobs .

didn't get much sleep last night the gals & i were out till 1 am we talked about all the old glass mates 40yrs
we have been out of school this yr & we all still look like tittty bobber I mean teeny bobbers hehehehhe.

i wrote on marshanne bathroom mirror with nels lipstick :))
but nel also did it marsha went in to use her bathroom came out & said oh how sweet i will never wash the mirror again ;)))

I did offer to wash it off but she said no . I hope that when you all reach my age you will still have your glassmates to chum with :) we have a ball when we get together without husbands or kids :) & sometimes with our family my dad is their dad as their parents we mine also & now we all have just my father all their parents have passed .

will i 'm sure you all know how much fun i had last evening so will shut up :) DJ's Comming for the kisses
so have to go put them up .

Susie, she hit me with those kisses too!:) and some gingerbread cookies, a dishtowel, that looks like a stained glass angel, very pretty Kim, love it! A cinnamon apple (red like christmas) candle, Yankee Tarts Wax Potpourri named Christmas Cookie, a cute little pail from Holiday Open House Dip Mix with receipe and dry ingredients inside, sounds tasty Kim. I just adore the little angel figurine, its so precious! And last but not least a daylily and a hosta named.......Christmas Cookies!
So love everything Kim and hope I didn't miss anything, just know I'm very thankful, and I am enjoying them!
