If you would like to participate in this swap please join.
The rules are simple.
You sign up here and POST here your Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds.
If anyone has those seeds they will send them in and I will put them in your stash.

1. Sign up
2. List your Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds.
3. Please send in FRESH seeds nothing older than 2012, if it is a seed that must be kept fresh please make sure it is from 2013 or a fresh harvest from your garden.
4. Sign ups can begin now. BUT you will have until September 20th to get your seeds in. I will begin mailing them back out September 30th. ANY seeds which arrive late will be returned to you. YOUR SEEDS MUST BE IN NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 20TH! NO EXCEPTIONS.
5. Include your Top 10 Most Wanted Seed list IN YOUR PACKAGE.
6. Include the amount of postage INSIDE your package that it cost you to mail to me, DO NOT INCLUDE CASH.
7. Make sure you send your seeds inside a bubble mailer. You DO NOT have to send another bubble mailer inside your package. The mailer you send to me with your seeds inside IS the one I will mail back to you.
8. You DO have to include a shipping label with your address on it. Make sure you put this inside your mailer.
9. Make sure the seed envies are packed in secure envies. Sometimes homemade envies break and the tea bag envies do not seem to hold up well. If you have to use either of these please make sure they are well secured.
9. Clearly label your seeds packets you are mailing in.
10. Participants are welcome to mail in ANY amount of seeds. I will try to send back as many to you as you mail in, this is not always possible and IF YOU DO NOT WANT THE AMOUNT RETURNED TO YOU WHICH YOU SENT IN PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF THAT AS WELL.

Please do not send in a bunch of Marigolds, Purple Coneflower these get included in EVERY seed swap and I am sure most people have them.

LAST DAY TO SIGN UP FOR THE SWAP IS SEPTEMBER 14th. This is so your package will have time to get to me.

I will send you my address through an email. If I do not send it to you please send me an email to remind me I didn't send it to you.

Thanks, HAVE FUN and I hope you will join this fun swap!

I am not sure if you can even get seeds for some of the ones I want. Like some of the Thymus/Thyme, Ajuga Burgundy Glow, Bergenia Lunar Glow OR Achillea ptarmica Ballerina but I thought it was worth a shot to see.

When you put up your list, you can add a note with yours as well. I was going to be really specific with my list, but then I started thinking,,,,hmmm might not can get some of the seeds you are looking for, so maybe I should go sort of general.
At any rate, if you know you can find your specific seed the ask for that BUT you can sort of do a general too.

Hope everyone is ok with this, IF not, let me know I will make if more specific.

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

The amount of the seeds depends on the size of the seeds and I would also say how much you wish to share.
Big seeds I would say 5-6 depending on the type, like if it is pumpkin for example and you have the amount to share then please put in about 10.
Small seeds just guess on those but use your judgement and give the amount you would feel comfortable receiving.
On the other hand, I would say if it is something on our want list then we'd be happy with any amount, more or less right?
If you want to check peoples want list and share something on their list with them, please feel free to do that.
I only chose the Top 10 because I figured it was an easy amount and most people could come up with 10 things they really wanted and if they only have 10 packs to share then that's all they have to worry about.
I am not making this a rules only swap, just wing it folks.
Most of you are seasoned traders you know what to do and as long as you are fair with the seed amount you send in I am happy too.

mastergarder2003 that is so nice of you...I LOVE poppies! I haven't planted any in a really long time and it would be cool to have some again. Thank you.

wonky, glad you decided to sign up, this will be good for you. If you can make it to the 10 to send it that's great, if not then send what you can. I am sure there will be folks who will take you under their wing and make sure you are happy with what you get back :)

I am SOOO happy we are getting folks to sign up for this swap. I hope everyone who has joined so far stays with us. I know so many times folks back out. I have done it too, life gets in the way. But hopefully we will have all with us til the end!

I will update the list and all later......I just came to check on it and thought I better answer zackey's question.

SO here I am.....:)

:) Aqua

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

I just didn't want to end up getting like 3 or 4 packs of seeds because most of my wants are quite unusual.

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

Mine was too zackey, I was very specific when I started the list. Then I changed it to a slightly different one, then I thought well I better do more general and wider or I will not get anything LOL.

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

This is going to be alot of fun. So far I have a few of peoples wants on their top ten. I will check everyones lists too because I may not be able to send in ten people are actually requesting lol.

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

I thought I would mention that I am adding things to my trade list right now. I'm not picky so most of whats on my lists (both here and my trade list) are all even as far as what I want. Yarrow and lavender being the the highest on my wish list.

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

OK, I'll admit it, I'm confused. Do we just send in seeds that are on the wish lists? If so I only have like 4 kinds of seed to send in. And only if they ripen on time. I do have lots of fresh seed from my garden that isn't on the lists I can send. Some are quite unusual if I do say so myself, LOL.

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

It is supposed to be our 10 Most Wanted Seeds BUT I personally am flexible.
I am sure whatever you have to share will be great domehome, plus there is still PLENTY of time for others to sign up so you might just have what they are hoping to find.
Again, share what you can, someone I am sure will want what is sent it.
If you can send in something from someone's list that's super fantastic but I am not going to tell anyone no you can't participate. Gardening is about sharing, so share what you have available.

Remember, this is a simple swap, nothing complicated now worries, JUST HAVE FUN...

Do you know how hard it is to type with a dog on your lap?

Hi Aqua, I have a question. If we have something on someones list, do we put their name on the pack or just send it in? Thank you

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

Hi Aqua,

I am new here and new to seed swaping. I want to get involved, I like others do not have most of what is on the want list at the moment, perhaps as more sign I I will feel like I can fill the wants!! As we get closer I assume you will give us what we do next, because I do not have a clue. Here is my list: lettuce, climbing cucumber, red salvia, italian kale, any low growing annual flowers, turnips, poppy, yarrow, creeping thyme.
Thanks

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

Yes socalgardengal, just put their name on it I will know it came from their actual trade page. I will not be checking the list on the trade pages once the seeds start coming in. So they will need to be marked somehow.
Remember folks INCLUDE a copy of your 10 Most Wanted List in your envy to me.

forgetmenot_orlando good to have you join us :)
Hope you have fun with this swap. Share what you can.
If you have question please ask. I will help you :).

I will update the list later.

Thanks again everyone for participating.

:) Aqua

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

I'd like to join. I'm growing 50 types of heirloom tomatoes this year that I've already started saving seed from. I also have early moonbeam watermelon, and I just harvested some Chesnok Red garlic bulbils. Not sure what I want on my list yet, though :)

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

I just wanted to say I think this is going to be a great swap. I have found a bunch of seeds to send in, not all on the top 10 but some are and the rest are on the wish lists. I'm labeling all of mine as to who they are for, I think this is going to be a big enough job for Aqua just getting them all sorted into the right mailing envelopes.

 o

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

Hey Miss Vina,
Did you try those Knautia seeds I sent you last year? I was hoping I would have had some volunteer from my plant but I didn't.
Glad you joined us.

domehome, Did I tell you I'd like a few of those Sunflower seeds? I ordered some from a seller on ebay but I really don't think that is what I got. So disappointing.

Hi, cmwsquirrl thanks for joining. You're new to me, I don't remember seeing your name before BUT I don't come here as much as I used to either.

I will update the list a little later, I just buzzed by real fast to get a link for a new person.
:) Aqua

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

Hey all!
Yes, aqua I tried them. Didn't have one sprout? It has to be me, lol. Oh Well! Try, try again I always say, lol. Some plants are just hard for me to start, even when they are easy for pretty much every one else. Kiss Me Over the Garden Gate...not at my house...hahaha. I've tried to wintersow that darn plant for 3 years. Nothing. So many nice GW's have sent their helpless little seeds to my house on a suicide mission, lol.

Talk to you later...
vina

ps. I did have success with the hibiscus seed I rec'd. Lady Baltimore :)

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

Hi Aqua,

I have my package almost ready to go, but I do not have an address in which to send it to. Please send it when you are ready and I will mail out my envelope. This is my first swap and I am really excited.

Thanks
PS I forgot to put on my list that I also have a butterfly garden started and I an looking for more seeds that attract butterflies and bees

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

aqua, what is the deadline for sign ups for this swap? I don't want to prepare seeds to send until I am sure I have seen all of the posted wish lists.

Thanks, Alana

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

No Vina, it isn't you, I can't get KMGG to sprout either. None of my Knautia came up from that plant either, maybe it's sterile? I don't know. Oh well, we tried right? I haven't seen that plant again anywhere either.
Love that hib! I have got to try to get some started. I love them and I don't have any at the moment. I did start some seeds last year, they came up and got about 4 inches tall and something ATE them!

Alana, I guess since the seeds have to be to me by the 20th the cut-off should be Sept. 12th, you think? That should give everyone time to get them in.

domehome, that is so sweet of you! Thanks.

forgetmenot_orlando, glad you are excited, this is addictive :).

GarynJeanna, glad you joined us :)

OK, I will update the list when I post this. I didn't realize we had so many more to join.

I would prefer ya'll hold off on sending your envies to me until closer to the mail in time, BUT if you know you are not going to have anymore seeds to send in then if you need to go ahead and mail them that's fine.
I need to start a holding box :)

Again, I am glad to see this swap shaping up so nicely :)

I will send you a hibiscus when I send my seeds ;)

I started some seeds several years ago and they just don't quit (they are like zuchini I think) I keep giving them away and they just never seem to end. I even shovel pruned a huge one early this year and it is growing in the compost.

send me your address, I am still looking through wishlists.

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

senjanevada
Send me a list of the seeds you have available. There are a few people on here who do grow unusual things and they might be interested in what you have so you can participate.

Everyone I will start sending out my address tomorrow but PLEASE wait to mail me your package, again UNLESS you are absolutely sure you have NOTHING else to add or send in then go ahead otherwise there is still plenty of time for others to join and you might have something you could've added but you didn't and can't if you mail it before the scheduled time.

Thanks!!!

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

Can I join? I've never done a Round Robin swap before.

My top ten (I know some of these colors aren't true to seed, so if they come out a different color that's okay):
1. Hibiscus moscheutos (I have red, pink, and white, would really like a few other colors)
2. Canna (red, orange, or yellow flowers)
3. Clematis albicoma
4. Cyclamen Hederifolium--hardy cyclamen
5. Dicentra exima--fringed bleeding heart
6. Fushia magellanica (hardy fushia)
7. Schizostylis coccinea 'Major'
8. Clerodendrum thomsoniae--bleeding heart vine
9. Dutchman's Pipe
10. Jasmine (any from the Oleaceae family)
I'm trying to do a tropicalesque garden, so anything that looks tropical, especially if it has red, orange, or yellow flowers. Also interested in tropicals that I can overwinter dormant.

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

socalgardengal thank you I appreciate you offering those!

Thanks everyone on the congrats for the grandbaby.

Today has been a terrible day for me. I had a puppy I was raising her mama lost all but her because she had them 11 days early and although I tried not to get attached to her I decided I was going to keep her because she was teeny teeny tiny. Yesterday she was 3 weeks old and still small enough to curl in my hand.
I lost her today because I did something stupid and she ended up falling out of the cage, I got her and within a couple of minutes she died in my hand.
I am heartbroken, I have cried ever since it happened. I have cried so much my sinuses hurt so bad. I am having a hard time dealing with losing her, but I promised an update on the swap so I am doing it.

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

ooo thats so sad =(

anywho, i have already packed some stuff. got over 40 packets in there, most of them are from someone's want list.
theres a few near misses, like very close to what the person asked for....

some of the packets i packed are a tiny amount! i dont mean for them to be so...but i figure if i have only that amount its good?
most of them are a better size, but theres some wants here that i only have a few....and i figured its ok even though they are small amounts.

this has probably already been addressed...but just thought i would voice that.
i suppose i will wait and see who else joins in, but i have my envelope packed up awaiting an address...

Thanks Alana, we only got to see her at the hospital. We haven't had time to go see her since she came home.
PLUS I hurt my back so I am kind of grounded at the moment. Pic attached is HOW I hurt my back, all hand pulled.

Yes, I was heartbroken about the puppy, I still am. Today is the first day I haven't cried so far. I am doing better with it. I know no amount of crying or regret will bring her back and what's done is done. THAT doesn't make it hurt any less.

SMALL amounts of seeds are fine IF it is something on someone's list. I think a small amount if better than no amount. At least with a small amount you have a chance at getting at least one plant and that is all you need to get started, right?

Again, let me state, the fun of these swaps are the surprise you have when you open your package and see what you received in return. Please try not to list what you have to share with others. We want the element of surprise!!! I do appreciate your enthusiasm over having stuff from others want list to share. THAT is also part of the fun of these swaps, is knowing you have something someone really really wants!!!

It is always amazing to see how diverse the list are, from the very unique sometimes rare to the very basic most simple request.

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

THIS is what it looks like now. I left my pitiful looking tomatoes I need some green ones to pickle.

It wasn't easy cleaning all that up. With all this rain we have been getting here in NC it is just awful trying to keep up with it all.

SWAP UPDATE COMING.

 o
how many seed?

PLEASE READ:

The amount of the seeds depends on the size of the seeds and I would also say how much you wish to share.
Big seeds I would say 10 depending on the type, like if it is pumpkin for example and you have the amount to share then please put in about 10. 10 is a good number because it gives you a good start on certain seeds such as beans. The purpose is not to make someone's garden but help them make a start on it. If they start with 10 bean or other plants than next year they should have plenty to grow.

Again I will try to send you back as many seeds packets as you send in, remember however, THIS will depend on the amount that comes in. You will get at least 10.
IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO RECEIVE THE SAME AMOUNT YOU MAILED IN LET ME KNOW.

Alana, from my understanding Darlene doesn't have a GW account at the moment because it will not let her login or anything, all she can do is read post.
If this is a problem for anyone please let me know and I will tell her she is not eligible to at the moment.

Good to see we still have folks interested in joining us.

I will update the list later.

:) Aqua

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

If she is a member she will have a screen name, regardless if her account is misbehaving and should contact GW for assistance. If she is trying to become a member and is having trouble, GW will help her with that too.

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

K...well I will tell her to contact them so they can help her.

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

I just harvested the dinnerplate Hibiscus you are looking for. They bloomed white with a red center and dark almost red. I also have watermelons and Dino Kale I see otherslooking for. Truly, the posts are too long and I would never remember who is looking for what. If this is supposed to be our 10 most wanted, are we supposed to send in 10 pkts?

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

Aqua,

I see that their a few people who need more time for their plants to finish going to seed, I myself am fine in waiting if others are to start this swap by a few weeks, maybe late september to give those a chance to finish harvesting seeds. Please let us know, I am holding out several more days before mailing my package to see if anyone else gets on board or if you push the date out.

Thanks,

Karen

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

I'd like to get this one off my plate so I'm going to mail mine to you this week. If someone else joins and I have appropriate seeds, I'll send another envelope.

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

I've had a large seed harvest this year, I plan on sending in lots of extras :)

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

I check the crape myrtle seed pods and roses seed pods if they are ready, not, they are still green. I'll pick and send out the seeds a week before due date.

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

I'm glad to say the bronze fennel is close to harvesting. It is the last of the seeds to go into the bag. I figure I'll try to be patient though in case we have some late comers.

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

oooh Bronze fennel would be lovely. The catapillar go wild for that. I have a hard time keeping it around. Queen Anne's Lace and Dill are also popular.... but they haven't managed to eat those to 'death'

:D

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

lindamarie you may send in any seeds you have others may want. IF you only send in 10 it is fine as well.
If you are having trouble with the list just look at the updates I post and you can see what others are wanting from that.

I will not be mailing the seeds packages back out until the last week or so of Sept. IF you have seeds that are not ready by Sept. 14 but WILL be ready by the end of Sept. then feel free to wait until they are ready. IF I only have a few packages to go through that is fine BUT I would like for the majority to be in no later than Sept. 20th.

Alana, send when you are ready. I appreciate you joining in on this swap so very much!

OHHHH, Vina, you gonna be doing some MAJOR swapping with all those seeds huh? LOL

I will be posting an updated list later on. I have been busy, can in for a little break now and thought I would come check on the swap.

Again, let me just say I appreciate EVERYONE so much who have joined this swap. I can't wait to go through the seeds. I am excited to see what comes in...I am sure many of you will have your wants fulfilled!

Ok, back to work. I will update this list later today!!!

:) Aqua

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

Hi all! Been meaning to post here for a while, but it seems there's always something conspiring to divert me anymore. If it isn't diabetic neuropathy and its minions, it's my MIL's medical problems, my SIL's frustrations, overall negative attitude, and lack of empathy, it's our autistic son's recent mystery gastric affliction with attendant vomiting and inability to keep down his meds (can we say "grand mal seizure") and yet another ambulance ride to the emergency room for IV meds, etc. - Yeah,...it definitely hasn't been boring around here lately, although we absolutely, totally wish it were otherwise. Anymore, Elly & I are thinking our son, Roy, may very well be suffering from constipation. Headache, stomach ache, nausea, lack of appetite, etc. Hospital tests couldn't find anything specific. No high temperature or elevated white blood cell count. --shrug-- To add to this, I have yet to properly acknowledge at least 4 wonderful individuals who have traded with me lately. OTOH, our container grown "Little Finger" carrots are doing nicely, and we've harvested some nice shallots, not to mention a continuous bounty of "Ever Bearing" and "Alpine" strawberries. So, I guess, it all kind of evens out, maybe, in a weird sort of way. - Looking forward to fullfilling the seed wishes of others! Totally jazz's me! :)

RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

Welcome to all who have joined recently.

WOW cryptid ALL that is rough, don't know how you manage to keep your sanity much less keep up with gardening too.
WOW is all I can say.

leilahamaya I got your package, it was open when it arrived. I don't think anything fell out of it but the tape looked like it had gotten stuck in their sorter and it was all bunched up and not sticky anymore.

I am going to start a new thread in the morning. I have been running all day Wednesday and I am so sleepy at the moment I can hardly hold my eyes open and I can't sleep either. I have to keep correcting so ummm yeah, I will be waiting til I am awake to do anything that requires thinking.

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

I am waiting on nasturtiums to dry out but probably will be ready around the 14th. I hope!

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

Trovesoftrilliums if the are not ready you will have time, as long as you can get your package in before say the 25 I will be re packing at that time so as long as it is here by then....
Ummmm, what kind of nasturtiums? LOL I planted a pack of the trailing kind this year, out of 32 seeds only 4 germinated, 2 got transplanted and 1 was doing well until day before yesterday when I pulled a weed from around it's base....
I am SOOOOO disappointed those are my favorite annual and they have just not done well for me the last couple of years!

DOMEHOME! I just got your package IT WAS PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU! It is so nice to open a package where the person followed the instructions well!
It makes it so easy for me!

Ok, I am going to start another thread with the update in it :)

 o
RE: NEW: Top 10 Most Wanted Seeds Swap

Cryptid - So sorry to hear about all the problems you and your family are suffering. I have had gastric trouble myself for over 6 months, the gastroenterologist just prescribed me acid blockers which have some scary side effects. So I ended up consulting my chiropractor / nutritionist. He did allergy testing on me and a barrage of other tests too. He seems to be helping. Consider finding a good homeopath, they look at things a little differently.
Aqua - Why thank-you. Just trying to be a good trader.
