| Denise, I think there is a little too much stealing going on in round one! These girls need to get to picking new boxes, don't you think? I've been looking up a few things from your box and I love the Esther Reed Daisy. Mariann/Galium sent me some that look a lot like it last summer. They had the most amazing blooms this year. I really like the edging on the leaf of Heuchera Ring of Fire. I don't have that one yet! You solved a mystery for me with posting NZ Brass Buttons "Platt's Black". A lady from GW sent me some in a swap when I first joined, it was my very first round robin. she didn't know what it was called but thought it would be great for my shade garden. | Denise - I know it's hard to be patient but eventually, the early traders will use up some or all their chances to keep a given box. The result is that people who come later get to use their 3 chances when it counts most. |

| Tracy - I started to post that same question to Shirley. We (my family) always play that you can only have a given item 3 times, including if you pick it from the pile originally. BUT, I've played it other times where you can actually "steal" the gift 3 times in addition to the original pick. We'll have to get Shirley to clarify that for us. |

| Tracy-The rule is a box can be chosen by someone 3 times and it is frozen-meaning that person has the box and no one else can steal it. So keep up with how many times you have had a chosen box. Say if Sassy chose box #5 and someone took it and she chose another box but somewhere down the line someone takes her 2nd box and she re-claims box #5 the second time. This could even happen a 3rd time so when she chooses box #5 for the 3rd time it's hers....its froze. Pat-E-mail me a piece of that Cinnamon Apple Bread....YUM Years ago I had a guy that quit where we worked and actually called me and asked me if I could fax his check to him. | Shirley - I'm glad we asked! That's a lot different than we play the game. We play that if you've had it 3 times and you lose it, you can't have it again. About 180 degrees opposite! So, the girls at the end could end up precluded from getting a specific box? (Theoretically, Sassy might have box #5 locked up by then!) They're not going to like that! Well, let's just enjoy some apple bread and one of Tracy's drinks. The sugar and the alcohol will take the edge off the wait! |

| Lovely Iris Shirley! Turn your back for a few hours and all heck breaks loose-boxes flying from one house to the other, threats of bodily harm, crying, stealing, and a fair amount of drinking. Can someone help me understand the whole maximum steals concept a bit better. For example, since Sassy got my box (5) first and it was stolen from her by Lisa (steal 1) who lost it to Deb (steal 2) who had to relinquish it to Sassy (steal 3), is it now off the market? My understanding is that if someone steals my box & I want it back, I can't steal it from the one that stole it from me. BUT if someone ELSE steals it from MY perp., then it's free game. My son as two, and guess who gets to babysit them........yep! me. They leave for vacation on the 27th, and I get to drive up to Wisconsin to get the little devils, I mean babies. Then take them back on August 7th. Their names are Zsa Zsa and Kingston. Fran, not a iris person? Hmmmm, Well Shirley I think we have converted another. Carmen, thanks for the info on the colon cleanse, I really like Fran's suggestion of drinking beer every day much better, but I think at this point I am about to try anything! AND, maybe that would help me loose a couple pounds! LOL Fran, I hope you start feeling better soon! Hmmmm, I guess I should start thinking stradegy too! The box(es) that I want are still available, I need to keep them that way! :o) But, I would also be tickled with ANY of them! | Hi All-I apologize for not posting that I wouldn't be participating this month. I had actually planned to and was looking forward to my first White Elephant Swap. Unfortunately when I walked around my gardens I was dismayed by the damage done to my plants due to deer, slugs, insects and all the rain we had. I do spray a deer repellent that I make up but it rained every day in June so it washed off. Didn't matter how many times I sprayed. I was so disappointed and upset by the damage. Slugs where the worse I've ever seen. They chewed a new Toad Lily, I bought last year, right down to the stems. Picking them off and using salt was no help what so ever. I encountered fungal diseases and mold everywhere. Needless to say I was to upset to even post. I hope everyone has a great time this month! |

| Hi Mariann, sorry you couldn't play and your garden is suffering, I know what you mean I'm having the same thing. I'm almost afraid to play and get plants because it's too hard to keep them alive in this heat and rain. I read in another forum that coffee and coffee grounds will keep slugs at bay, so I tried it and it seems to work real well for me, see if that will help with the slugs at least. Everyone else HAVE FUN STEALING, OOPS! I mean swapping boxes today. |

| Good Morning Ladies! I went to a Lia Sophia party last night. I saw people that I haven't seen since high school,that's 27 years for those of you who don't know. I posted the minute that I got in the door! I really didn't think that that theiving Deb would steal another box from me. What's wrong with stealing a box from Tracy,huh huh! And, I'm sure it's 5:00 somewhere! lol Mariann, so sorry to hear about your gardens! I know the rabbits did me in this year too, it is depressing isn't it. I do have them under control now with some spray and the neighbors got a new cat the thinks she lives here. I hope you don't loose a lot and that stuff comes back for you! Hopefully the sun will start shining for you and get rid of some of the pests! Shirley, this is a GREAT game! I'm sooo glad you did this, even if it is driving me CRAZY!!! :) I've gotta go shower, I'm sure the ppl I work with would appreciate it! I WILL be able to check in today, my docs in surgery. |
