Hey Veeja, not sure if everyone is out on vacation or what. I think we should still do it with the three of us if no one else signs up.

I see we still have a week if anyone wants to join in. It's simple too.

My kitchen is a light blue. I don't have a theme but love florals. I hope a few more join in.

Another storm blew through here yesterday. No tornadoes but high winds and a lot of rain. We had three nights straight where tstorms came in and made quite a mess. Yesterday, the wind blew several things off our deck and just about leveled my tomato and jalapeno plants. I uprighted them but not sure how they will do. The farmers around here had a lot of crop damage, mainly corn and some won't be able to recover from it. Luckily, the worst of it went south and north of us. After almost 14 days in a row of rain, we have a five day break from it. I can get out and do some gardening over the weekend.

Thanks for hosting Carol and have fun. Margo

I can do a dishtowel swap as well. I'm not picky but I like something with dark green in it as one of the colors.

I am ok with Zackey joining in. I know her name from seed exchanges, especially the Secret Santa one last year.

Last day for joining in everyone. It is a simple one that doesn't involve any high cost in postage. Like I said, who couldn't use a new dishtowel?

    Have a good day. Margo

Zackey, I understand your confusion but here is a quote from an above post.

"dish towel will be in your partners colors anything that reminds you of them, a christmas card and pic of yourself or your favorite family member"

Most members have posted what their kitchen colors are so you might want to look back to see if your partner has posted. You could email them if not. Hope this helps.

Annie, I have your address so will be working on your package asap.

I guess I spelled the coming baby's name wrong, it should be Brayden. I was chastised by my other children, LOL.

Hot, hot, hot but the weekend will be cooler, thank goodness. Margo

Margo, I still love the name....Brayden! Take your time on the package. Do what is convenient for you!

Maryanne, I just sent you an email confirming your mailing address. I am not sure if your email address is current. There is not one listed here on your member page so hopefully the one I have is right on.

    Happy Friday!!

I received my package from Maryann today and I couldn't be more thrilled. What a thoughtful package.
First, there was a lovely card with a congrats on the coming grand baby.
Next, she sent a dishtowel which has been crafted into a gift bag, very, very clever. The dishtowel has a recipe on it titled, Grandma's special sugar cookies. If you prefer the towel, you simply rip the seam out and it becomes the towel.
Inside the dishtowel gift bag was a package of baby announcement cards where a pic goes in the front. Will be proud to send these out in October.
Next there was a Christmas ornament tin that contains a package of a substance that you smooth out into the tin and then get an imprint of baby's hand or foot, once it dries it is an ornament. I can't wait to do this when I visit once the baby is born.
Next, she included some little note cards. Very pretty.

Maryann, a lot of thought went into your package and I just love it. Thank you so much for helping make the coming event of a new grandchild so special. I am going to try to post a picture in the next couple of days.

Annie, picked up your towel today and will be working on the package in the next couple days. The owner of the gift shop in on vacation and I am in charge so I am working five days this week. We are getting in all kinds of new stock including Christmas which is getting priced and put up in our attic. With only two other employees and both being newer, it has been a bit crazy.

Rain most of the day here today which I happily welcomed. Helps my day that I don't have to go out and water.

    hi everyone.

margo, so glad it arrived. forgot the Christmas card and picture, well, actually, I probably never saw that until I just read an update. imagine Fiona from shrek, just less green LOL. glad it arrived and I was so thrilled to send to you and loved picking those things out - way too hot to send plants, so this was a real welcome change. i'm a sucker for anything grandmom myself. have you decided what you will be called by the baby?

annie, thanks, just read your emails, i'll be back in town on Friday, so hopefully things will be there when I get home. i'm excited :-)

it's raining like mad here in the mountains. started earlier today. we were out and about and you couldn't see in front of you, it was like a sheet of rain. rushed home because all the windows were open. got lucky, as heavy as it rained, not too much wet inside, but we were soaked through and through.

hope everyone has a great day tomorrow. i'm thinking of going blueberry picking, but haven't decided for certain yet. looking forward to hearing what everyone receives (and i'm especially intrigued by my being shipped from a store LOL)

Here is the picture of the things Maryann sent me. I thought they would be understood better. I just love the towel/pouch idea and plan to copy it for myself. (Future swap idea, lol).

Maryann, I didn't really want to be called grandma because I didn't want Brayden, (love putting that down) having to say grandma Smith or grandma Woodruff. I feel it should be more personal if that makes sense. I was trying to decide when my son requested I be called Nana. I was thrilled to say the least because that is what they called my MIL who is now gone. They were very close to her and thought a lot of her so that made me feel pretty special.

By the way, I say go do the blueberry picking. I love to pick blueberries and there is no where around here to go. So fun and yummy at the same time.

Such nice gifts! It has rained here every day since I can remember. I'm enjoying the cool down after the rain. Very unusual here. It used to just make it balmy. I've had my windows open most of the summer. Enjoying the fresh air.

    Good morning everyone.

I received my wonderful swap box from Annie. It arrived sometime during the week, but I was not home until yesterday (if only for the day) to pick up mail, etc. So excited when I opened my package.

I just LOVE this set, the feel, the color, the design. They will certainly be put to great use. Thanks so much Annie!!!! And thanks so much for sharing the pic of your beloved pet, what a beauty. It's so tough to lose one, my heart still aches sometimes for my beloved Hazel - maybe they are both running around in doggie heaven to. I also received a star ornament, which we hung up on our picture wall along with your baby!

    Thanks again Annie...I love everyone.

Carol, great idea for a swap. Hope we can do something like this again.

I have been working on my package for Annie and need to finish it up tomorrow. In the meantime I realized we were to send a picture of ourselves so I decided to post a picture of myself and my daughters taken last year at my oldest daughters wedding. This is Elizabeth (bride), Emily, and myself. I haven't had any developed to send to Annie so thought I would share with everyone. Elizabeth and I wish we could do a redo as she and I have been doing Weight Watchers and she lost 15 pounds and I have lost 23. (I also do not like the way they did my hair).

We helped move Emily out of her apartment today and cleaned it all up. Last weekend we did the same for Elizabeth and her husband. Next week, we move our son to Indiana and the follwoing week, we move Emily into her new apartment, (her stuff is stored at her brothers house). Needless to say, life has been crazy and the gardens are suffering for it. Once everyone is moved and on their own, I will have more time for myself. :)

Annie, will be getting your package out on Tuesday and will post the DC at that time.

I did it. I finally got my package ready and will be mailing it tomorrow. I love being able to print postage at home but with three other family members on the internet, it took forever. Once I get the package in the mailbox and off to Annie tomorrow, the dc will be traceable but til then, here it is.

Margo, I would love to know how to print postage at home. I'm thinking about selling on E bay.

  • smitties

Zackey, it is easy. Just go to the United States Post Office website and register. Then click on mail a package and follow the prompts. Once you enter the info, you just print the label from your printer. You do need a scale though. It doesn't have to be expensive, just accurate. If you print from home, you get a 5% deal off the post office price. The website only does priority though.

Annie, not for the face, you are right, it is for scouring. LOL Can you imagine your face if you were to use that on it?

Glad you enjoyed the box. I had a hard time trying to figure out what to include.

Weather is almost perfect here these days. Temps are low and rain is just enough. We have been in the 70's and a customer of ours at the store was complaining it was too cold. Would she prefer we be back in the 90's with high humidity? I don't think so. I will take it and it can stay this way for a long time.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Margo
