| Hello everyone! I am still in the swap and excited this being my first traveling daylily swap! I am going to send to MaryS, but will wait to hear from her when she gets back! We got a great rain yesterday and really needed it. Been pretty hot and muggy lately, but it is summer!! LOL! Actually though we have had a lot of rain here for the year for us. My weeds are growing faster than my plants! Haven't done much this year with new things, as my knee had been in a brace until the 14th ! So it is taking me a little to get back into doing things and not wanting to hurt it again! 10 weeks was long enough! Took away most of my spring! I did order 2 daylilies I had been wanting though. I ordered Eleonore for my mother's memory garden. It is her middle name and her fav colors! And I ordered frosted vintage ruffles. They should come this fall when it is better to plant them. But I never seem to have any problem with them whatever time I plant. I have to force myself not to order alot! I could buy forever but would be in debt forever!Lol! But there is always another one I want, or two, or a hundred! And of course, I am thrilled to be getting from Debbie. The ones I traded for with her last year outdid themselves this year and were gorgeous! Haven't heard from you Paul. I thanked you for the brugs cuttings and they are actually doing really well! No blooms but gorgeous leaves. I wanted to know if you had a preference as to what you might like of mine for them, but I never heard back. Then I hurt my knee and haven't done much at all. I will try and send you something for them. Hope all are having a good summer and looking forward to the surprises in the swap! Melinda |
|
| Hi girls:) Shirley I'm here, this has been a crazy month for me and I'm not sure when the ship deadline is but I'll probably be running into the 1st week of Aug. Hope that will be okay, I'll try to get it out before that but I don't want to make promises I can't keep. Jean would you please look at my trade list and see if I have anything you'd like, I'll have to be honest, some of them have not multiplied enough, but just let me know what you like and I'll fix you up the best I can:) I was gonna send you some hosta too, but I don't think there's any you don't already have. lol Just email me and I'll try to get this out for you soon. Marea, I've just decided, I love everything you have so just pick for me, wow, what beauties you have and your iris are awesome too! You don't have to worry about pleasing me! Night girls |

Melinda, you can send anytime it works for you!I will not be going anywhere now except the lakehouse, an hour away,on the weekends. I am looking forward to the swap! Ellen, I may have to wait till next week to send yours now. It is real wet outside today. I will let you know for sure. It sure has been real quiet around here for awhile! What ever happened to the TD trip to the Smokey Mts (I think) Did anyone go? or did that get cancelled? Off to clean the house! It has been ignored too long!!!Mary |

| Hello everyone! I am still here, just MIA. I've had an awful lot to tend to over the past few months. I've thought of each of you quite often, especially since the Daylilies started to bloom. A few from Anita, several from Marea, some from Mary, .......the list goes on. I can't believe what a show we are getting this year and it's thanks to all my TD friends. My gardens are filled with more Daylilies than I even realized. They are shining through the weeds like beacons and i'm soooo very anxious to move them all over to the new house once they have finished their marvelous display. : ) I'm going to try my best to get on and give you all an update and post those pictures of all the amazing things Jo sent that I was supposed to do a while back. The blanket for the baby is just so gorgeous and he loves to cuddle with it. Speaking of baby.....he is now 14 months old and is walking all over the place. How time flies! I need to do some reading to try and get caught up.....I'm kind of out of the loop and haven't read anything since Paul's fabulous vacation. I loved all of your pictures Paul! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the Summer. Hugs, |
|
| Dear friends ~ so glad to read your posts tonight! Carol, the technology i have can handle tv screen size photos. Glad you are up & posting again & sending good flower thoughts my way.. I have been wildly busy with my daylilys during this hot spell, getting them relabeled, watered, photographed, crossed with each other, watered, fertilized, watered... |
|

| Jean-Yes it is nice to see a few more posting. Maybe our swap boxes will arrive soon and we can ohhhh and ahhhh over them. I love reading what each one gets in their boxes. Mary_s-Good to see you back from Vacation. We all need those Vacations although sometimes I come back as tired as when I left. I Vacation with younger family members and it is go go go. Gloria had planned our great Smoky Mtn. getaway but haven't heard anything since she proposed the offer. It sure would have been nice to meet some of you. Dawn-So good to see you posting..looking forward to your pictures. How far along are you on the house now? Jo was posting quite regular and she is MIA again. Probably busy with outside things. Carol-So good to hear you are feeling better. Night All Shirley |

| Hello everyone. I'm here :). Just returned from vacation... went camping to Zion and Bryce National Parks in Utah with the boys, then met up with the girls in Las Vegas. It's been about 5 years since the last time I was in Vegas... and I remembered why I hated that place. It'll probably be another 5 years before I forget and agree to go again... LOL. I hope everyone has fun with the swap. Too much for me to handle at this point. Shirley, no worries on the irises. Whenever you get a chance is fine. Dawn, I don't think you posted any photos of the special quilt. Would love to see the final product. Take care everyone, |
|

| Paul-It was so nice to do what the girls wanted in Las Vegas though. You're a good man. LOL You may have received your box from me already but wanted to explain about the irises you chose from my pictures. I had a tag made to go on Pink Magnolia and found it after they bloomed still laying on the table...have no clue which one it is now. In your dreams got attacked by an iris borer and I have one small piece left. I did remember you asked for spider daylilies so sent you some of those. Hope you like what I sent. Woke to a rainy morning and almost decided to stay home and not sell at the market today. The truck was loaded so we decided to try and sell anyway. It started off really slow with a steady rain for almost two hours then the sun came out and people came and bought and bought, was glad we went after all. Trying to decide what to cook for supper I'm cooking green beans out of the garden but don't know what else to have. I came home from the market and made 13 pints of bread and butter pickles. The only way I like potato salad is to put these pickles in it. YUM YUM Shirley |

Also sent me these--pink bergenia, pretty polly heuchera, pink phlox, rose campion, hardy glads! Debbie, bless your heart! I love them all!! Thanks so very much! | Our new ladies should be receiving their daylilies that I promised to send as a welcome and because I missed participating in Marea's swap. I also included the special daylily that I was to send Roxy which was Oceans 11. It bloomed beautifully this year. It was still just 2 fans but it seemed to bloom on and on. I'll try to get a few pictures posted soon. BTW as Shirley mentioned...who would be up for a Gatlinburg TN trip in Sept/Oct? Let us know if you're interested. Hugs to all, |

| Debbie-Yes I would love to meet up with any or all of the ladies who want to join us in Gatlinburg (Paul you to..bring Shirley and the kids). Gloria may still be interested let us know what she thinks. Shirley |
|
| G'morning every one! Shirley, you are quite welcome for Going to the End of The Line. It always makes me happy. I'd love to hear more about your Sat Market sales - will you email me about it? Everyone, remember that our ol' mamabear is constantly at her email 'cuz of eBay, she never remembers to come here but answers emails quickly! I won't have the funds to make a trip this Fall, but please promise me ya'll will take dozens of photos? My daylily bloom season is winding down now & I am coming up for air. It was a late one this year, more like zone 4 than zone 8 because of the looong cold Spring i had... I am mailing Sassy's Perennial Swap box on Monday. She said she's had a hard time getting on GW the past week. |

| Hi - I did receive my daylilies from Debbie. I am very happy with them. I check in here ever few days, but somehow I have missed 2 swaps - Shirley's and Anita's. I have had a virus for a couple of weeks, sneezing, coughing, chest congestion. Miserable! Miriam |

| Update regarding the Gatlinburg get together: I have heard from Gloria that because of some family stuff going on, she has not been able to sponsor a paid trip to Gatlinburg as hoped. She still cannot. But she has no problem if someone else wants to set it up. I would suggest that first off, we wait until spring to do this...it will give more time for planning and saving money. Second, we should share the cost of the cabin equally, depending on how many end up going. Lastly, decide on someone to put this all together. I would rather not...I have a 1st grandbaby due anytime now...plus there are others that know more about Gatlinburg. So who wants to volunteer? I will help if you need me. I hope our missing members wander back soon. They are sure missed. Who will I brag to when my grandbaby is born? Posting more daylily photo. Big Hugs,

| Just wanted to pop in and say hello! Also to let Mary-s know that I haven't mailed her box yet! This past week has been over 100 and just too hot and too tired to get out and dig. But will be sending, sorry for the wait. Also my computer crashed and I am at the libray right now. I will try and check weekly until I get my computer fixed or buy a new one. So Mary S could you please send me your addy again. I had all that stuff in my files and I can't get to them from this competer. I can check my mail here but not get my folders and files. I will try and let you know for sure when I mail as I hope to this Monday or Tuesday, it is suppose to rain and cool off! Thanks, melinda |
|
| Hi everyone, I wanted to pop in and say hello. I know I've been a little quiet the last couple of weeks. DH had an accident a couple of weeks ago. He got hit by a flying piece of metal in the face. He was lucky, it came close to his eye but didn't take out his eye or his ear or jaw or noose. But on Thursday, he had to have surgery to replace his cheek bone and the support under his right eye. I wanted to thank Mary S for her wonderful box. I got 8 different, wonderful daylilies and the hosta So Sweet. I will followup tomorrow with the list of daylilies. I gotta say though, my easy favorite is the one named Matt. Not only is it a beauty but it reminds me of my nephew Matt who just joined the army and will be going to Iraq soon. Once it gets bigger, I'll be sharing it with my sister-in-law - his mom. Marea - your box is packed and will be shipped tomorrow. I hope you like what I've selected for you. Ellen |

| Ellen and Sassy...I am so sorry to hear about your dh's accidents. I wish there was something we could do to help both of your families. I know this must have been just awful. Please know that your are in our thoughts and prayers. Miriam and Melinda...I am glad you enjoyed your boxes. Besides Shirley and myself, does anyone else think they might be able to make the trip to the Smokies? You don't need to committ now, just help give us an idea if there is enough interest to get this thing going. Debbie
|
|
| Ellen, I'm so sorry as well to hear about your DH's accident! OUCH! My prayers that he heals fast & can tolerate pain meds... Thank you so much for bothering with my box with that going on in your lives!! I bet I will love your choices. I grow 'Matt' and it's a true beauty, both you & your SIL will love it for that reason, too! I don't know where to read about Sassy's DH's accident - but my prayers are with her & her DH in the hospital, too. Debbie, realistically, I won't be able to fly out there to party with yall, as much as I want to. Our only income right now is my eBay sales |
|
| Ellen I'm so glad to hear your dh is okay. Mine had a 'emergency landing' with his airplane a few years back that went bad. He had a broken cheekbone, broken jaw, 2 broken ankles. They had to put a plate in to fix his cheekbone, is that what they did with your dh? Lol, he gets so mad when people said he crashed his airplane. Hes always said, if I had crashed it I would be dead! Anyway so that you all know, I've been with him 22 years, married 20, this is his 2nd mishap. For those of you wondering what the heck, my dh had an accident at work on Wednesday. He was using a grinder saw, it got in a bind and he lost control of it. He was in a corner, lying on the floor, not a good position to get away from anything, when it jammed it hit his arm, severing an artery and then hit his chest just under his ribcage. Thank God no organs were hit in his chest. The jobsite was over 10 miles from the hospital. (He has been a firefighter for over 30 years, he's been firechief for 20, so he knew he was in trouble) He told my stepson they didn't have time to wait for an ambulance. He gave my stepson the direct line for the ER and they were waiting for them. Thanks goodness. Anyway, hes had surgery, hes fine now. Sorry, didn't mean to blubber on, just wanted you to know the deal. and I want to thank Marea for the awesome box of plants she sent me and my mother got them all planted for me Marea. And also, Deb!!!!! I so apologize that I didn't post getting yours before this. I did get them and and they are planted also, thank you so much. What an awesome person you are to do that for us newbies. Please forgive me, (both you and Marea) for not listing everything, I have it all written down, but just trying to catch up here. Jean/DirtPig pleaseeeeeeee know I have NOT forgotten you! I'm going to do my best to get your box out this week and I so apologize for being late for my first swap:( Deb....send me more info, I love Gatlinburg! I've never been in the spring. Sassy |
|
| Oh hurrah, Sassy, so happy to hear you were pleased! I am pleased as punch here ~ the box from Ellen arrived with 7 awesome daylilies and 2 beautiful hostas! Thank you VERY MUCH Ellen! Back out to do more happy dancin' ~m' |

| Hi all, My DIL is to be induced Friday...so I should be a Grammy either Friday or Sat. I am so excited, this is our first grandbaby. We have plenty of time to get ready for a Gatlinburg trip so anyone thinking they might like to join us, can start saving a little back now. Sassy, Melinda, and Miriam, I'm glad you are enjoying your boxes. Annette and Roxy did your boxes arrive safely? Karen...I have been to your photo album...what a beautiful landscaping job...have you done it yourself? I have absolutely no talent in that area. Luckily for me, daylilies are beautiful where ever you put them. Shirley...I am posting a picture of the iris "Mt. Cook a "Dawning" that you sent me last year. It bloomed beautifully this year. Hey Anita...where have you disappeared to? Big hug to Marea. |
|
| Big hug back, Debbie, and to yall... Life is odd here - professional roofers are reroofing this big ol' warehouse where my office/computer is & it's noisy & dirty & the electricity is disconnected occassionaly... I'm starting to harvest seeds now - not 1/2 the amount of last year's daylily seed. I had a long cold Spring and then a VERY hot sudden Summer, it was hard for me, too, so I'm not surprised. I ASK Anita on the phone why she wont post & she wont answer me... HEY -YOU SWAP PEOPLE ARE S'POSED TO LIKE TELL US WHAT YOU GOT! |

| Hi, all,I am going to jail in september for md and may be hitting some of you up for help with bail, sorry but it is a good cause and I don't wanna be in jail. I feel bad but ya gotta give back every once in awhile and sitting in jail will be my chance to help out some of those beautiful lil children.otherwise I am designing away and raising pups. kids have teeth now so I got tiny puncture marks all over me. most of my days have seed pods but it is open pollination so no planned crosses. if you want some, just ask, should be ready in about a month. sorry to run on. hugs carol |
|
| Jean, I'm so happy you were happy, I hated to send all iris, but had to. I had done way to much damage to my days...I don't have as many as some of you girls, so I'm so glad the iris were ok:)) Anyway hope it was all good:) Anita...God is good! Yes she is! Don't forget it! (We) love you! Jean, have fun planting! I'll be doing the same, just got a new box in today! All iris! And new ones at that:) Carol always know, I wish for you exactly what you deserve. Have a good nite |
|

| Thankyou Sassy, does this mean you wanna contribute to my bail ? I actually feel honored it is a muscular dystrophy fund raiser and someone turned me in for having a big heart, so the 18th I get aressted and taken to a fake jail by a fireman, if I have bail I get out, if not I get fed their version of bread and water. I will have a web site soon and will post it then. It is at a steakhouse so could be pretty good. friends may be hearing from me, hope you don't mind. being eaten by puppies is enjoyable. hugs carol |
|
| Yes, you should! I feel honored for you! I'd rather see you sit there awhile 'with your BIG ole heart'. I mean, it is for a good cause as you said. So why do you want to escape so quickly? Did you say they're going to feed you or the puppies? I really think you should let the puppies eat first, but thats just me. I wish you the best, I'm just curious, do you honestly think I worry about you talking to your friends? (Remember what I said in my email about your mental health?) I say this with the best of intentions, you really need to see someone and I'm not talking about a fireman or a vet:( |

What a busy day I have had. We are still looking for a bigger truck to pull our new camper and have had no luck. Looks like we will be borrowing our Sons truck again to pull it to the campsite Labor day week-end. The car dealerships want a fortune for the diesel trucks and want to pay us nothing for our truck. Sassy and Ellen hope your DH's are still doing well. Carol-My grandson got a new puppy about 3 months ago and he was jumping with it on the trampoline. Somehow it fell off and got it's foot hung in one of the springs. He tried to rescue it but it was in such pain it bit his hand many many times. He has all these little pin size holes in his hand. I told his Mom I could not believe he was that tough. The first time it bit me I would have went and got help. DD said such a commotion like you have never heard. Many of the neighbors came thinking he was being attacked by some wild dog. I was concerned about rabies but the Vet said no it was to young to have rabies. Debbie-Please let us know when that little grandson makes his appearance. Sure hope Audra, Son and Baby are doing well. I do hope I get your box out this week. I will send you a list of some daylilies you can choose from. My irises have not done well this year. The iris borer wiped out quite a few for me. Next year I will definetely spray for those pests. I actually found one in a Siberian iris also. I know the bearded and the Louisianas are susceptible to the borerer but was surprised to find one in a Siberian. Miss all the ones who haven't posted in awhile. Gloria, Anita, Paul, Canna, Jo, Dawn, MaryB, Mary_s, Karen, Sharon, Dianne, Cindy...Sure hope everything is ok with everyone. Shirley |
|
| Shirley, I'm very sad to hear that you got borers in your beautiful Iris collection! Dang! I thought I had it bad getting leaf spot this Spring... Let me know if you need to replace any that I have. I'm fixing to divide daylilies this coming week & have Jesus Arose coming your way, I could tuck in Iris, too. Didn't you stragglers get your Perennial Swap boxes YET? Anybody have daylilies blooming? I've got some of my fav's blooming today, giving you a link to a slideshow of 'em in case you're interested. |
Here is a link that might be useful: 7 daylilies blooming today

| Marea, your Possum__ (4 names long)... DL is very unusual. Makes me think of finger curls! Budsnblooms, well I do my landscaping but my hubby has assisted with tractors, etc if it involves moving loads of dirt or boulders. :) I don't feel like watering. I'm going with 'tough love' except for new transplants. It is getting down in the 50 degree range at night. My elephant ear will go dormant before ever hitting their stride this year. Caught 15 monarch butterflies which are now crystalis. We are getting to let them loose in our room for a while and have a short term butterfly house like the one we enjoyed so much in Seattle! Have been riding horses with the kids about every sunset. Very fun and so lovely in God's great garden! Is anyone else watching Psych? It's a crack up! Later! Karen

| John Gunner (we're calling him Gunner) was born Friday, August 22, 2008 in Louisville, KY. He weighed 8 lbs 9 oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long. Baby and Mom are doing fine and were released from the hosp. today. The other GM is staying with the happy couple this week to help out and I will be staying the following week. This should give us a chance to start the spoiling process. Thank you everyone for your well wishes on the birth of our grandbaby. Marea, my daylilies are all gone...They didn't do too well this year...first it was too cold, then too wet and for the last 2 months it has been too dry. I checked out your pictures on photobuckets, not only do you have beautiful plants but you really do well with your photography. Shirley...I'm in no rush for the box, send when you can....I have a box of named iris that I got in the mail while I was in Louisville that need to be planted. When they spread, I'll list them. They are all fairly new cultivars (2000-2006). Anita...I am so sorry to hear that you have lost loved ones. Is there anything I can do to help? Hi jumpin4joy!!!! Ellen and Sassy...I too hope your hubbys are still on the mend and are doing well now. Hi Jean...thanks...good to hear from you. I too miss all our MIA's. Off to post baby pictures. |

| Thankyou Sassy, you have the Best graphics, I love them, your cats were the first thing I liked about you. Debbie, enjoy and spoil him rotten its us grannys job. my oldest grandaughter brought her daughter for me to spoil in july. all she asked is that granpa didn't tell her things he told her when she was little, like all the speed bumps in the road were turtle shells and frogs were turtles without their shells, said other kids at school made fun of her for believing him. Anita you know you are loved and in my thoughts and prayers. Marea , I loved my bed of lilies from you. they are right by my front door and bloomed their lil hearts out. you are so very generous, e-mail chatted with mamma bear, she's still not feeling well but loves us. Dawn is Talon driving yet ? hugs to you all. carol |

| Good morning everyone, Have been real busy lately and have not posted here much. Debbie, thanks very much for the daylilies you sent, got them planted and they are doing great. Congrats on first grand, remember how it felt when I had my first. If you need daylilies let me know. I will be dividing some of mine in pots in late Sept. and would love to share with you if you need some. It has been hot and humid here but we have gotten some rain and I had daylilies that rebloomed that have never done this before. Thanks again for the daylilies. |
|
| Oh boy... looks like I missed a bunch. Debbie, CONGRATULATIONS! Will look forward to the pictures. Dawn, should I draft Talon for my fantasy football team? Shirley, I received the plants you sent several weeks ago. Thank you. Marea, How do I love thee... let me count the ways.... or better not... don't want hubby coming after me :). Seems this group has really dropped off... perhaps it's time for some new blood? Just a thought. My yard is filled to capacity, so I'm not really trading anymore. Feel free to remove me from the group, but I'm sure I'll still pop in to check up on you ladies. Thanks, |
|

| Well, I certainly don't like Marea. I LOOOOOOOVE her! Debbie, that first grandchild will never stop thrilling and amazing you. Did you ever think you could love another human being like you love that child? Good to see you again, Gloria. Now that the weather's cooling, maybe more of us will return to the roost. Dianne |
|
| Just checkin' ~ y'all usually just ignore me & I was doing a reality check. I LOVE you all right back. You have seriously helped me through some VERY difficult times just by listening. As long as I know you're listening I will keep talking. *grin* m' |

| Where is Joy? Can anyone contact her? Is she OK? Jean has her BOX READY!! |
|
| Paul, my take on "US" is that we are about being online friends first and active traders second. I love hearing & seeing your experiences of nature/daylies/plants and would be very sad if I didn't know that eventually you are gonna treat us to another one of your fabulous plant experiences/photos/if we are REALLY good maybe even your art... ~m' |

| Hi all, it's nice to see so many of you here now. I stopped by to see what's going on and to say hi and found out it's "Luv Marea Day", well, gosh, who wouldn't love Marea? She's the best. She tries to talk to everyone and let them know they all count and is just a terrific, loving person so I'll say, I Love you "Rea!!" Take care all, Nancy |
|
| Morning all, Sorry, I too have been guilty of not checking in very often these days. Life here continues to be crazy with a very heavy work schedule and three needy teenagers. So much new going on with everyone, where do I start? Well, you know I love you all, BUT I LOVVVVEEEEE MY MAREA (and yes, I do think of her as MY Marea). I've said it so many times before and will always think of her as the heart of our group. Marea, you are one of only a very few here that are always holding us together when we all seem to stray. So even though many of us aren't around as much as we should be - DON'T EVER DOUBT THAT WE LOVE YOU - YOU'RE AWESOME! Debbie, Congrats on the new grandbaby. What an exciting time for everyone! Will go on over to the picture thread to see if I can find the new pics of little Gunner. Big hugs to you! Gloria, so nice to see you posting. We miss you. Dawn, miss you as well. Hope when I get over to the pic thread (if I can find it) there will be some new ones of Talon too. Wow, 15 months already. I remember that age all too well. They certainly keep you running after them don't they? And Brooklynn is 2? How is that possible? Please let us all know how you are feeling too. Paul, oh no you're not getting away from us that easily. The trading is so secondary here and you know that. We all love to hear your stories of your trips and your wonderful pictures. So no, just forget it, you're not going anywhere. Anita, hope you're feeling okay these days. Not really sure of all that is going on with you - don't know if I missed it somewhere, but I think of you often and wish you would post and give us an update. We love you, Anita. Jo, hope you're still reading and know we love and miss you too. Hope you come back to us again. Shirley, thanks so much for organizing this last swap. Sorry your box hasn't gone out yet. I've looked at your list several times and thought what in the world am I going to send this woman that she doesn't already have????? Oh well, you know I'll come up with something.....good thing you're a hosta lover too. Hope to get to it at the beginning of the week. My daylilies are finally just about done blooming and I did very few crosses this year so I think I can safely dig some now. Need to get a box out to Sharon too so it could be a day of digging. I'm hoping with school starting next week to finally have some days to myself. It has totally been a summer of transporting my kids and their friends around all day every day and pretty much working every night. Where has summer gone? I would SOOOO love to do the trip in the Spring. Just can't really commit to anything right now. Will have to be on the fence for awhile on this one. Hello Nancy, Jean, Carol, Dianne, Annette, Sassy, Melinda, Miriam, Ellen, Karen and MaryS! Better get going on something today. Lots to do before work. Did I mention that I LOVE MAREA? |

| Sharon, bad girl !!! you were in washington state and didn't come to see me, I can only forgive you if you promise if you ever come again you will stop at my house. Paul one of the cuttings you sent me this year is full of buds, I know I owe you something but can't remember what, please remind me. the one blooming is charles grim. I waited about two months before I potted them, so surely did not expect a bloom. We all have Mareas smile in our gardens, and in our hearts. I for one count myself blessed to have her as a friend, so why not have a Marea love fest. my delphinums are putting out a second bloom, I finally got a pink one growing, this is about the fourth time I"ve tried, but first success. Remy please tell me how to tell when a green zebra tomato is ripe ? Hi to everyone. hugs carol |

| Sharon, I live in the Tacoma area, about 50 miles from seattle. I would have come to seattle to make sure you saw the center of the universe and the troll under the bridge. did you go to pikes place market ? you would have loved visiting my puppies, so now you owe me. if you don't mind a slight puppy odor I have a guest bedroom you could have stayed in. it is an open invitation to anyone of you who comes my way, but Sharon now you owe me. blooms are slowing down but I planted a bunch of mums last year and they increased nicely and are blooming now along with autum joy sedum. happy gardening, enjoy the cool fall. hugs carol |

I dreamed nightly of those water hoses. Couldn't enjoy the blooms for watering constantly. Debbie-I will wait until next week to send your swap box since you left home to take care of that precious little bundle of joy. ENVY ENVY here. Anita-Wish you would drop by and let us know you are ok. Miss you terribly. Jo-Likewise hope you are ok....we worry about you when you are away. Sharon-So happy to hear your back has mended. My back pain comes and goes. Can't figure out why it does that either. I really cut back on ordering new plants this year. Have a hard time taking care of what I have. Loved all your pictures on the picture thread. Paul-Glad you received the daylilies. My brugs have not started blooming yet. As dry as it has been they look stunted. Dawn-It is hard to believe that Talon is 15 months old. He will be in school before you know it. He is a beautiful little boy. MaryB-Your list is likewise very long. | prayers needed, my little dog Tiyli is in the animal hospital, vet thinks she may have eaten some antifreeze. we let her out to go potty and she has been sneaking next door. vet is feeding her iv liquids and has her on a catheter in hopes of her kidneys resting and healing, This lil girl has her own bedroom, I love her lots, please pray for her. thankyou hugs carol |
|
| Oh Carol, you have my prayers for your little Tiyli! IV fluids can do miracles & I'm praying for one for her. Mirium, I didn't forget about you, either. Hope you feel well enough to join in this month's swap so you can feel the love, too *grin* Shirley, thanks for your support, my friend. That is too much work!! You & Cindy are in the same boat with that dedication to the job keeping you at the grindstone a zillion hours a week. But I know how it happens, I was working like 70 hours a week two Summers in a row at the vet hospital, with 10 hour days on the run that would turn into 14 before the last surgery case was stable and ready to be left alone for the night. Don't know where I found the energy for that! Anyhow, wishing you more than enough health & energy to keep at it until your mean ol' boss lets you take that week off. And hopefully THAT week you can tell me about the Farmer's Market... Anita dear, I was so HAPPY to see you post! I love you right back, you know it. And I'm happy to hear that you are feeling well enough to get some gardening and box sending done!! Hoping you can join in this months swap. Even though we aren't QUITE done with the Perennial Swap, I thought I should get this month's started so we can make Jean's Zone 4 planting deadline THIS year... **************** |

| Miriam you are in my prayers, Marea, thankyou for your prayers I felt bad asking for prayers for my dog, but I got my miracle her kidneys tested good today, after one 24 hrs of iv's so she came home, she dosen't go outside without me attached to her, I am always on the lookout for toxic items around my critters, but a renter next door moved and left cars, campers, bottles of chemicals, garbage, owners are in their 70's so haven't cleaned it up. Tiyli snuck over there on her potty break. I just love her sooo much and am so happy she is ok now. dh said he wasn't gonna pay for her to be on a kidney machine, that I would have to let her go, so I was a bit worried. thankyou for the prayers. I love ya. hugs carol |
|
| Least expensive? I guess there IS no way to judge that, never mind that part of the prize award qualifications. LOL Just wanted to emphasize that this swap is NOT to be a deluge of store bought gifts or a call for hundred dollar plants to be sent. |
|
| Well I sent out Mary B box on Aug 30.. 0307 1790 000 5178 3252 I checked the delivery con.number but get nothing so I have no idea.Hope she got it by now. Has anyone heard from her lately. Carol happy Tiyli is home now :) |

| Good morning everyone! I finally have a Saturday off! I too am on salary and have only had 4 full days off in 4 months!! Really sucks! But then someone has to be there to keep things going. Going to enjoy the computer this am and then out to plant, plant, and weed! Carol, I am so glad your little Tiyli is getting better! Will have to try and keep her home and away from the neighbor's. MaryS, glad you liked the box! Sorry the fan of little Heavenly angel was small, but only one I had on your wish list! Mareas-glad you are hosting and would love to be in on the swap for September. Debbie-I bet your new grandson is getting more grand by the day-isn't he!! And good to see Anita and hoping things are doing well for you. Everyone have a great day! Melinda |

| Paul Carol Jean Marea Anita Mirium Melinda Shirley I want to be in on this swap too. MaryB-Posted on August 29th. Marea-While I am thinking of it I will tell you about the farmers market where I sell plants in the Spring. It is held on Saturday mornings from 8:00-12:00. You can set up and sell there as long as it is something you grow, canned, made, baked and etc. WE have some of the neatest vendors selling there. One lady grows mushrooms, two other ladies sell goat related items. I could not believe the fudge they made out of goats milk, it was really good. Then they do several kinds of goat cheese. Then we have several folks selling bakery items, several selling fresh vegetables, and I of course sell irises, daylilies, hostas, crocosmia and other plants. I usually quit selling after the daylilies quit blooming. It only costs $20.00 per year and you make very good money. They use the money for signs and advertising. Carol-So happy your Tiyli is going to be ok. I know how it is losing a beloved pet. Melinda-I do get my week-ends off thank goodness. I really got alot done today. After DH returned from hunting he helped me weed a huge flowerbed. Miriam-I pray that you will get off that oxygen tank. I guess you have to go about things in an entirely different way when carrying an oxygen tank around. She doesn't post anymore but we did have a member (Barb) who was in a wheelchair and she did do gardening. I feel kinda lost since Brittney (Granddaughter) has left for college. It seems so odd that she doesn't come home everyday now. She thinks she wants to be a dental hygienist. Shirley

| Oh Mirium! I didn't realize you were so limited! You have my prayers too. Shirley, thanks for the cool & mouth watering description of your farmers market. We have them all over here, too, but I was wondering about the business side: Just in case any of you have been looking for daylilies to purchase, remember to check out our BUSY Canna's website! What bargains to be had! |

| Just got back from spending a week with my new grandson. He is just the cutest grandbaby ever. I just can't stop grinning. I'll post pictures so you can share with me. Miriam, Annette, Roxy, Melinda, Diane (sassy)-Please know that new members are always wanted and loved. Unfortunately, the last year has been a transition time for the TD's. Now that Marea has agreed to lead our wonderful group, we are no longer at loose ends and you should see a big change in the TD's. If you have any questions...ask the person who sponsored/brought you into the group or feel free to ask Marea or me or anyone else in the group. If you're shy about posting your questions, privately e-mail any of us. I want to join the SSSSwap also. The list is now: Sharon I loved seeing the pictures of your beautiful/handsome children. Please keep posting. I've missed you. Jo have you disappeared again? We would love to hear from you. Karen I loved the butterfly idea. How are they fed/watered in the house? Cut flowers maybe? Houseplants? Happy anniversary Anita and David....Pics of Little 'D' please. I have a list of the rest of you that I will say hello in the next post. I don't want this one to go on too long. But I don't want to miss this chance of giving our old mamabear a big thank you hug and to let Marea know that I love her too and will support her 100% just let me know what and when I can help out. Off to post pictures and answer e-mail. Big TD Hugs to everyone, |

| Thanks, Debbie! I already sent you kudos on the bouncing baby boy, but forgot to tell ya he even makes ME grin. Had a computer disaster last night ~ windows caused a fatal crash & burn and the only thing my computer would let me do was wipe it blank & restore the original programs... Will draw partners on Friday 8/12 for the SSSS Swap, so c'mon everyone ~ just throw any 3 things from your desk or potting table into a box & sign up!! |

| I'm tuckered out. Just dug out a 100# iris pseudacorus. It bent my metal handled shovel. I fought the iris and I won! Butterfly caterpillers eat the butterfly weed. After they get their wings they don't eat- they just want out. They didn't flutter as I had hoped, they just glued themselves to the glass and begged me to open the window. My son has his drivers permit. We pray before heading out! Marea bless you! After a computer crash. We sent our HD to a guy who recovered the old harddrive and pics with some fancy computer stuff. Worth a try? I have no idea if it's too late. It costs. I think the guy was in Oregon. I'd like a new member with email list if we have one compiled. I need to go play with the kitties to fully recover, Karen

| Hello group. I'm feeling very embarrassed and ashamed at the moment. Joy (pnwjoy) |

| Hi everyone. I talked to our humble leader and she agreed this is an important topic and doesn't mind me posting this. We all love children so why would anyone mind? Right? .................................
I'm just going to cut to the chase, you need to contact both Senators in your state and you also need to email the Senate Majority Leader, its up to his discretion, Senator Harry Reid...Nevada, whether bills are up for being voted on. Please send him emails, he's 'the' most important along with your Senators. If he's not contacted, they might not get heard at all. If you have any questions please email me, I'll be more than happy to help and thanks Marea! You're awesome and I appreciate your thoughts! This is what I received from (1) of my Senators. Mind you, I also have a residence in NC and I've not heard from either. How dissapointing. I still say we need to also email the Senate leader. I hope you will, whether you post on here or not. I'm not asking for posts, I'm just asking that you act on it!
I admit, I'm not an elequoent speaker, thats why I need all of you! Maybe one of you will say it better than me, I don't care as long as it gets through to them. Thank you to everyone that helps! You can go to protect.com or oprah.com whichever is easier. Either way, please just do it! I've always posted pics but have never posted links, so anyone that can do that, please do it now. This is so important, session ends on Sept. 26! Think of how many children will be hurt and killed before they come back in session. Really, think about it:(

| I'm on my way Sassy. Thank you for the heads up. Joy |
