Erica and Alana, I have your packages ready to go and will mail them later today. Peggy, I dug your irises yesterday and they are very wet, so I am letting them get some air before boxing them up. If they're looking okay after lunch I will box them up, too, and add some shredded paper to the packing. I don't want to put any plastic around any of it because it's just too wet. I think they are Immortality because the tag stuck in the soil read "white" and I believe those are the only white Irises that I have.

I've been busy and not checking in for a few days. It looks like I missed a lot.

Not applemint nor borage, altho the borage does grow right next to the crack, in a pot. Surprising that it has never sprouted there!

I thought Cannibas was considered an herb....maybe not! One of these days the gardener in me is going to try growing a few plants....Of course, I will grow it outside in the yard or canyon behind me and probably get busted...I have nothing to hide....LOL!

Well, it's gone from cloudy and rainy to sunny and COLD!!

And I've read where the governor of our dear state has declared a state of emergency for the area directly north of me-saw some pics of the flooding, those people are really going to need some assistance!

Well, no one guessed the right answer for the last guessing game, which was Chamomile! I'm going to put the games on hold until Sunday, have lots of "busyness" ahead of me for the next few days. Look for more games on Sunday!

Jayeanne, I received my Lionheart Lily and have it planted already. It's right out our bedroom window where we look first thing in the mornings. Open the curtains and there it is. Had a great time at State Park today, sunny and VERY windy. Saw loads of Egrets, Swans, GB Herons, the Osprey and an Eagle. I'm 90% sure the pic is of a Least Sandpiper, a female or immature. I know it isn't a Dunlin or a Sanderling! These little sandpipers aren't very common around here, glad to get the shot!

I received a wonderful package of seeds on Thursday from Erica! Sorry I am late in posting this update but I have been running around like a chicken with no head! And btw, Erica, the little seed packet taped to the outside survived the trip thru the mail. Amazing!!

Well, Erica and I have solved the mystery of the package. Hahaha. Seems like the USPS was rough on the bubble envelope and busted it open at the seams by the stamps. A couple of random staples later, and a package of seeds taped to the outside.... which survived the rest of the trip, amazingly! Here's a photo for everyone to chuckle at. I can't imagine why the PO didn't just tuck those seeds back inside and then use tape to seal it back up. They also didn't bother to cancel the stamps. Overall, it was a WIN! LoL!

Now that the initial trauma of what the USPS did to my package is over, I have to say that the stamp situation is super hilarious! You gotta love those mailers that get to your place uncancelled. Ironically, besides those two 21cent stamps, which I added, the rest were sent to me, also uncancelled (although I probably shouldn't be saying that)! Anyhow, I do have replacement seeds for the ones that were lost. They will be in the mail on Mon.

I think angels were watching over that package! What a great story. If seeds could talk...we'd hear the REST of the story!
My daughter graduated from boot camp at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. She's standing with her younger (and taller) little sister! It was about a 13-hour drive one way. My husband left the GPS in the garage, missed his turn in Kansas and we almost got all the way to Oklahoma before he figured out he better turn east. The car limped home the last 30 miles and it's toast (the second car this month to die). I made the family take everything to the Laundromat BEFORE we went home because my daughter had lice at Basic Training. Now I have 7 plastic bags of clean laundry and a clothesline full of what was clean, but not yet dry. So of course I'm on the computer. Makes perfect sense to me! I'm exhausted and an emotional mess, but everything is good.

Ruth, thanks for the info. I just googled it and it is native to the Southwest and parts of southern California, Nevada etc. Won't be seeing it up here in Michigan! I'm so glad you attracted one to your gardens! It is truly beautiful!
