Forwarding e-mails to members

Good Morning All;

I have been a member of GW for years and have used the same e-mail address for responses. This has been successful because I have always sent multiple messages as a BCC. I also have not forwarded any questionable e-mails to GW members.

This morning I received an e-mail that was one of the original spam messages ever sent. It talked about Bill Gates sharing his fortune. I deleted it and would encourage anyone else who receives it to do the same. There is a website to check the veracity of e-mails with promises in them. It is www.snopes.com.

My real concern is that the person that sent it to me listed my e-mail address for everyone who received this spam to see. That generally causes much more spam to arrive in ones mailbox sometimes to the point of making it unusable. Please be more careful when sending e-mails to people you have met through this website. We are intereted in plants and gardens, not get rich quick schemes. Thanks. diene
