Welcome to the Petal Pushers!
This will be a monthly swap. Everyone is invited to join. I'm not adding alot of rules and regulations to this group, I want this to be a fun swap that people will want to join in and enjoy themselves. If you sign up in any given swap , you're considered a member. Now with that said, I'm not putting a number on how many swaps you have to be in, its your choice. Life happens and we can't always be involved. Alot of us girls have been around a good while and know each other but we welcome new people. I do ask that you understand, if you're new and your swap partner for that particular month does not know you, you are REQUIRED to send your box first. And we all know that we need to post when received. Very important, your partner is patiently waiting to hear from you. You should use delivery confirmation when sending, it could save your bedonkadonk! (Anyone that doesn't know what that means, email me, I'll be happy to explain! lol) I will ask for the ones that want to be more involved to host a month, just let me know what month you'd prefer. That will take alittle of the load off of me and make it lots more fun having different ideas than my little brain can come up with. When you sign up I will send out a small questionaire, not to worry, I don't need your great grand-mothers maiden name! lol (JK) Just a little info about your likes/dislikes to help your swap partners. I figured alot of you girls are already committed to Sept swaps so lets start this off in October! If I think of anything else I'll add it later, but I'm just trying to keep it simple for all of us. Hope it sounds good to you girls.

Ok, for now, this is our October Halloween Spooky swap! I'll be hosting and please if you want to send plants try send something with a halloween themed name. One year I received a daylily named 'Witches Brew' and loved it! Other than that send what you want, but if you're sending decorations, etc, we want our partner to receive in time to display for the big night. You can alway just use a fall theme, but hate to pass on a holiday! Thought we may use the fall theme for Thanksgiving, but that up to whom ever wants to host, and if no one else can, I will, no problem.

So, I get a surprise gift for signing up first.....Love surprises.

My DD is laid up with a broken foot. Did anyone's mother ever tell you to wear clean underwear just in case you got sick and had to go to the hospital????? When my DD fell she crawled to the phone and called me when she couldn't get a hold of her DH. I called an ambulance....... My DD was none to happy about that because she lives on the 2nd floor and her door was locked also she was wearing a ripped up tee shirt and no bra... Need I say more?

Weather here has been strange. Have had 2 frosts-last week-end and was walking around in jeans and 2 sweatshirts. Now the temps are back in the 80's again and back to shorts, etc. Temps inside the school building are hot, hot, hot! With all of those darling little sweaty bodies. But they are just all as precious as can be. Gosh, I do love working with this age now. After 28 years with middle schoolers who'd a thunk it!

BTW, Tracy, great pics of the carrots. I've grown those kind before, and they are a HOOT!!!

Emma was saying "I watie De flowies!" She always does because she is so excited to help! And yes Ma'am that would be my Autumn Sunset Echinacea that you spy with your little eye! I had 2 but traded one for a Multi Blue Clematis that I was drooling over. I recently picked up a sunrise one as well. I saved a few seeds from the sunset so far and am hoping for a few more before the season is done. I pinched the carrots off of photobucket, they cracked me up, so I had to throw them at my bunny friend! LOL!

Oh, yicky, you are stuck in a classroom with stinky preteens after gym class! I bow before you, you are superwoman! I have a friend who teaches 5th graders. Her first year back to teaching was eye watering with all of those boys on hot summer days. She finally sent home a letter requesting that the parents introduce the children to deodorant.

Do I give you my name and address and then you give me the name and address of whomever I'm sending to?

Do we have the same person every time?

Monica, I will assign partners and try to have it posted on the 1st of Oct. I hate to put deadlines, life gets busy, but would be nice if everyone has their box by the last week of Oct. for sure. We don't want this running into our next month. I will be sending out a questionaire I'm working on, I want everyone to fill it out and send it back to me, but keep a copy for yourself, its up to you to send to your partner for a particular month. You can also check out they're want lists on their gw page. No you will not have the same person each time. It will be a package of gifts, not that you need to go spend alot of money. When we can we also send plants, but we're coming up on that time now that not all can send or receive plants.

Glad you're still in Nancy, not counting you in for Oct. I completely understand girl.

My DD spent a few days with us. Still using crutches. She is getting Xrayed this evening. Her DH is bringing her over tomorrow morning and she'll be staying until Monday. We are taking her to the Dr's to see how she is doing.

Weather has been great here and the leaves are starting to fall from the Silver Maple.

Just kind of passing through here. I've been out for a haircut this morning and some shopping for the swap. After I do some clothes folding from hubby washing and drying them, I'm heading out to go visit my parents. They moved to a college town about 35 miles away from us last week-end. Sold their house of 50+ years that they had built, packed up, and moved. I am LOVING it! They're still in the process of unpacking, naturally, and I have been helping as I can. My parents are 76 and 81. Don't know if I could move at that age, but it's what they wanted to do.

Still having great weather here. Have been pulling some weeds out of the flower gardens so it isn't so bad to work in next spring. I still have a ton of coop plants to get in the ground--at least I have had them growing in pots--but now DH is helping a neighbor with fall harvest along with doing his regular job. Maybe when the first snow flies he'll get the tractor and disc out and make a spot for them. :P

Who's got the runny nose???? Sassy do you have the sniffles?

My DD had Xrays yesterday. The radiologist compared this one with the first one. He told her that they both look the same with no healing taking place. She was in tears when she called me. My DH and I are taking her to the Dr on Monday so we'll see what he says. Did I mention she doesn't have Health Insurance? Her DH company doesn't cover families. How unfair is that?? I'd better not get started on that subject.

I am so sorry for your DD. That is terrible! I am going to keep praying for her. Tell her doctor that you have heard about the electronic bone stimulators, this may be an option for her before a surgerical procedure becomes necessary. My mom broke her foot over a year ago and it was not healing. She had to have surgery with pins and plates, etc. After surgery no new bone growth was appearing so they ordered the stimulator. It sits on the outside of the cast and sends electronic impulses to the bone causing new growth to appear. It definitely helped and now she is finally cast free, no cane, no more crutches. It took some time but now she is better.

PS- I'll be putting lots of prayers out to you all tonight! ;)

Hope the doctor appointment goes well for your DD today Mariann. I am saying some prayers for her that things will improve more quickly.

We took our DD to the Dr.'s today even though the Radiologist said that no healing was taken place her Dr. disagreed. He said that there was a small amount of healing and that hopefully it will be only another 6-8 weeks. Tracy thank you for suggesting the electronic bone stimulator. We did ask about it and he said that since she doesn't have Health Insurance it's probably not possible to get one. He also said that it was to soon for that type of treatment. If need be he will look into it in the future.

I don't know if anyone suffers from allergies but I'm all stuffed up.

If the need comes up, I will ask my mom for hers, she is through with it and it was completely paid for through Medicaid/social security. Say the word, I know she would happily have me send it along. That is great news that the doctor sees some improvement. I am happy for her, I will continue to offer my prayers in her recovery.

Sassy- I hope you are feeling better soon. My entire family has been sick for going on a week now, and with 5 kids...this tummy bug thing is NO FUN!!! And hubby has a horrible cold/flu thing ...he took a half day off of work today, he felt so bad..nearly fell down some stairs, he got so dizzy & winded. He must be in pretty bad shape, cuz this is only the 2nd sick day he's taken in 10 years!

Anyway..... REST REST REST!!!! Get to feeling better!! We miss our sassy!!!!

When they were first born, they fit into one bouncy seat...

Mom came to stay and help...

They were only a few days old here...

One day I noticed their feet were mangled together...it was too cute!! McKenzie still had her hospital bracelet on until we could tell them apart...

We decided to give Kailey a manicureand Pedicure so we could tell them apart..after all, she was the oldest...

McKenzie's first finger suck was Kailey's pinkie

Kailey last week...they're now 6 months old...her first hairdo...

McKenzie in my favorite position....sleeeping... :) Awww my baby....

Tracy-We can't thank you enough for your's and your mom's generosity. My DD is very thankful for your kindness. You folks are among the truly selfless.

Whoever asked, yes, ALWAYS use delivery confirmation and post the # here when when its shipped/mailed. We need to do this to cover our butts at times:)

Well jeez, thought I was feeling a tiny bit better yesterday, woke up early this am freezing to death, took my temp and it was 102, so had to get my Mom to keep McKenzie. My God has that woman has been in pure heaven all day! lol I kept calling and checking on them, wouldn't be worried, but Mom had surgery on one knee and its hasn't healed well, and she desperately needs it on the other one but they won't do it till they get the first one fixed. Ok, I'm rambling, must be the drugs, sorry.

We had Strep throat hit our house last week, my oldest came down with it on Thursday, now my 2nd oldest is coming down with it too. Well, I'm currently preparing a huge sale at my parents storage units for the weekend. My mom's got the girls tonight so I can get a good nights rest...YIPPY!

I am SO exhausted. I just also made a floral arrangement with fowers made of cantelope, honeydew and watermelon for my step mother's friend in the hospital. It looks really nice. I forgot my digi cam for the trip so I'll borrow someone else's tomorrow and take a pic of it.

HOW RUDE!!! REGARDLESS of crazy humor or being silly HOW FREAKING RUDE!!! Not only was she mean she did the major NO NO of online swaping, there was no need for you, Carol, regardless of your sense of humor, to post a thank you like that. First of all WHY IN HADES did you have to post her hubbys name (first and last) when you knew good and well who the box came from? The last name is most definately the worst thing to do anyways! I am sorry but Sassy if you condone this kind of stuff then I would be shocked. As far as a dark person, no Carol you are not a dark person, you are a not nice person and Mellen if you think this was one bit funny then you are not nice either. Carol, I am sorry if you were disappointed with your box, I packed it carefully with you in mind. I shopped for a few specials for you because of your candle making interests. Along with a book of the special relationships that ladies have with their dogs. A very nice book that details ladies throughout history and their best friends. I am sorry if dark colors do not suit you. The Black Hero, Blushing Beauty and Angelique tulips that I sent along with the Moonlight Masquerade Daylily and the Superstition Iris are being shared between myself and the 3 groups that I traded with this month. The sentiment that I had was that it would be so nice to share a small part of each other in each of our gardens. I am saddened and I am offended, truly offended that you posted my husbands name on this thread. That is inexcusable to me. There is a very good reason that we use GWID's, and that is to protect our privacy. If I had wished my personal information to be online I would have posted it myself.

This has been a very negative experience for me. I am sorry to say. I had hoped to develop positive relationships with the people in this group. I will not be back.

Just to be sure that you have not been misunderstood- are you not familiar with "internet protocal (SP?)"? FYI- It is very dangerous to be posting personal information on the internet; not just on this site, but any. To post the personal information of someone else- especially without their permission is practically spitting in their face. These days it is very easy to get SS #'s, bank account info, etc..with just a first and last name of an individual. I REALLY hope you have learned your lesson. Personally, (I'm sure you're an adult and I don't have to tell you), I really think you should apologize.
Few of us seem very upset in these last few posts- Just please lets all keep in mind that reading what someone wrote does not always protray how they feel. Tone of voice cannot be read.
Well, I just had to get all that out cause I felt this thread REALLY going in a negative direction. I really hope "The Petal Pushers" don't fall apart and can stick together for a bit.

Sassy- so glad to hear you're feeling better. Give your Kenzie BIG hugs and kisses from my Kenzie too...they're just about the same age. My McKenzie has just started rocking on her hands and knees. It is sooooo cute! I'll post pics as soon as I can. Mom's been busy making them clothes out of fleece since the weather has gotten so cold up here.
