This round robin is an extension of a wonderful group of talented, generous and spirited traders, the Traveling Daylilies, who when at all possible trade Daylilies. The way into this group is to have traded with at least one of us and to be recommended for membership by one or more members of the group. We are not snobs, we just want to protect each other and you from any game traders... should there be any. If you know any of us, email privately and they will be allowed to get you in on their recommendation. We'd love to have you! Anyone interested in doing a THANKSGIVING SWAP? BIG WARM WELCOME TO OUR NEW MEMBERS, Rockyridge (Rox) & Annette_1964(Annette)

| Good Afternoon Friends, Cody...Great to see you back with us too. I've been MIA myself. I'd love some no name DL seeds. Do you want me to paypal you the cost of the envelope and postage or would you rather I mail it to you? Cost for the seed? etc. Roxanne...Again welcome to the Traveling Daylilies. I have been trying to e-mail you but it keeps coming back unrouteable. Please send me your correct address so I can add you to our membership list and you will begin to get all the e-mail you're supposed to. Annette...A BIG Hearty Angel Hug to you...our newest member. Please feel free to begin posting on this site whenever you are ready. Are we having a November trade? Has anyone volunteered to do a Christmas exchange? If not, I'll agree to sponsor the December one. What's everyone think about having either of these...any interest? Gloria...sorry to hear about the e-bay slump...I'll go check out your penny bulbs now...Tell Jennifer I ordered and received some of her doggy peanut butter treats and Ali just loves them. They do smell good enough to eat but thanks for the warning that they don't have sugar, or I might have been tempted to eat one. It's good to hear that your back is better. Hope all is well with you and yours. Paul, I have thought of you often as I saw the fires burning between LA and San Diego. I used to live in the mountains of KY and there were frequent forest fires there. Very scary to have the mountains around you on fire. I won't keep going on and on in this e-mail. I'll catch up on my reading and check in with the rest of you later. Debbie/budsnblooms |

| Anita, what could we swap for Thanks giving? Debbie, I'll be the first in line for our annual Christmas swap! Welcome Annette! Hope you will jump right in! Warning: I bought some fancy Lambertson daylily seeds from Germany on eBay and the US Customs SEIZED & DESTROYED THEM! Waaah... The seller is just wonderful & wants to replace them, but on the phone just now the Customs officer said that all daylily seeds need a phytosanitary certificate to legally be imported, but couldn't be bothered with getting me a list of rules. They told me to call APHIS & APHIS said they were wrong & to call Customs back! I'm having a serious attitude problem about bureaucratic Big Brother just now. I'm furious, in fact, but can't figure out where to go for help. *sigh* So, head's up. |

| marea a trick i've used to get seeds to canada is to instead of declaring them seeds, bulbs etc. declare them as a gift and as long as the package isn't opened they get there fine. |

| Hi Everyone, I am glad to be here with the rest of you that love daylilies also. I have been growing daylilies for several years now and would love to get more and more of them. I help out at a local daylily farm so I am in contact with all of her over 6,000 varieties of daylilies, which I love. I know I will have questions about growing and caring for daylilies and hopefully someone will be able to answer them for me. It is good to be here with all of you and hear from each of you. |

| Morning everyone, Just wanted to pop on quick and give you all the details of the awesome box that Cindy sent. I'll tell you, that girl was out of control on this particular shopping binge. I can't wait to see all of these new beauties come Spring: Tulip 'Toronto' (12) And if the bulbs weren't enough, she sent more goodies: *3 king size ReesesPB cups and eyeball gumballs, which ofcourse my kids made off with very quickly. Well, I certainly hope I didn't forget anything. As you can see Ms. Cindy outdid herself. Thanks again Cindy - I DO love and appreciate everything! I'll definitely be thinking of you often in the Spring when my gardens are bursting with blooms! I would be in for upcoming swaps - Thanksgiving and Christmas. WELCOME to Annette. Glad to have you join us. So glad to see you post Paul. I too have been thinking of you and hoping you were safe and sound. Marea, thank you for the info awile back on my seeds from 2006. I think I'm going to try to start them this January along with my 2007's. Just can't bring myself to throw them out - I'm guessing I'll get some to sprout anyway. Anita, nice to see you post. Glad you got everything in as the nights here are getting cold, aren't they? I still have some to get in - probably finish up today. Sure would love to see Jo pop in and say hi. If you talk to her, please let her know she's missed. Baby congrats to Diane and Barb! Check out this cool maze if you have a minute: www.winterrowd.com/maze Well, I don't have to work until later this afternoon and although it's damp and chilly, it looks like the sun is trying to shine. Think I'd better get busy on getting these bulbs planted. Have a good day everyone! |

| Debbie - Thanks for the welcome! I would be interested in a Thanksgiving and/or Christmas swap. I love Thanksgiving. I think it is a pretty much ignored holiday…..simply because they haven’t figured out how to make money off of it. Annette - Welcome to the group. I’ve just been here a month so I’m a newbie too. This is a great group of people…..you are gonna love it here. Wow! Are you lucky or what! What daylily farm are you near? I live in NC and have started planning my ‘bloom time’ tour. We always go to Marietta Gardens….the Shooters are such nice people and it always takes my breath away when I pull in and see acres and acres of blooming daylilies. Gloria - What do you sell on ebay? I’m addicted to ebay!!! What is your id? I want to look. Also the peanut butter doggie treats sound wonderful. I have 3 spoiled rotten dogs and they love peanut butter. I’ll try to remember to post their picture on the other thread. Paul - Glad to hear you came through the fires intact. I am constantly worried about fires. Where we live is at the top of a ridge surrounded by over 1000 acres of forest. Last week my husband actually went off on his bike to track down where some smoke was coming from. Glad you and yours are safe. I wish I could say the same for everyone else out there. What a tragedy!!! Marea - Glad you liked your swap box…..and glad you found the bracelet. LOL Those people at the U S Customs are not too bright. Best to avoid them at all costs. I agree with cody_mi. I have traded African Violet leaves with a guy in Japan several times, and we always write on the package that it’s a toy with no value. Have never had a problem that way. Apparently whoever sent you the seeds are new to shipping internationally. For the Thanksgiving swap we could do seasonal items, of course. And maybe ‘get ready for winter’ items. Feeding our feathered friends comes to mind. Winter blooming plants….Amaryllis, paper whites, hyacinths to force. Maybe we could include something from our lives that we really love and are thankful for. Share it with our friends. Our favorite hand cream, favorite internet website, gardening hand tool….anything really. We could also share our favorite Thanksgiving recipe. Cindy - Your daylily crosses sound beautiful. I love the ‘5 sort of’…..LOL MaryB - Awsome box you got! Congratulations. I just wanted to let you know I planted some daylily seeds from 2005 in July and every single one of them came up. They had been in the veggie bin all this time. I’ve still got some 2005 seed in there. I guess that was the year I discovered the LA. LOL Anita - You are such an enabler!!! Great daylily sale; gotta study it to see what I want. I’m trying to stick to seeds since I’ve got about 20 daylilies sitting in bags and buckets in my kitchen waiting for this rain to stop so I can plant them. Love the photo thread….such great photographers we have here. The daylilies are gorgeous and Talon….little Talon….so A D O R A B L E.! Dawn your house is awesome! I didn’t set out to write a book!!! LOL Sorry! Roxy |

| I’m just checking in to say hello and to say I hope everyone has a fun but safe Halloween. Welcome Rockyridge, and Annette Dawn, your baby T is so cute, and your house is gorgeous. Mary B, so glad to see you are posting. Gloria, Diane, and Barb congrats on the new little ones, and yes you might say I’m a little jealous. Paul, I hope you are safe. Here are a few things that are going on in my world: I’m sad the plants are ready for a long winter nap, and although I love the color that fall brings, I hate winter. I can dress for the cold, but hate driving on the snow and ice. (I just know there is a ditch with my name on it somewhere. I really try to be optimistic about it, but if you only know how much I hate driving. I do because I have to. First of all, Shelby has hit the 5 year mark being in remission, and we have so much to be thankful for.:O) :O) On the flip side, my Nephew Joey has been diagnosed with juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma. His doctor sent him to Peoria and then from there, Chicago. After a few more test they will do surgery. The good thing is it is not cancerous, and with that we are very thankful. Just a lot of trips back and forth, and boy! are the hotels expensive there. This is my week-end off, I’m going to get out and clean up the yard. It is amazing how much stuff I’ve managed to leave out. I will try and check in when I can, and sorry if I've left anyone out. LIFE IS GOOD, |

| I've been thinking what to do for a Christmas Swap. But first...Anita if you decide to sponsor the Thanksgiving one, sign me up. Okay, here's the rules....The box must be mailed by December 15th. The idea here is to remember the "SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS", it's not about how much to spend, DON'T BREAK THE BANK. You can make or buy all of the gifts. Be creative in making or buying whatever you choose to put in your box. I want everyone to have fun "creating" your gift box to your partner. There are 12 individual items I have listed but you don't have to send all of them, choose at least 7 items. Also, you can count a single item as meeting two of the items: an example is A 2008 Calendar of Angels, this covers 2 of the 12 items; or a Bayberry Scented candle, it's both cheerfully lighted as well as smelling like Christmas. If you don't understand...e-mail me, and I'll muddy the waters some more (grin) The List: 1. A special ornament. I hope I have lots of people sign up. This is about giving with a cheerful heart and having fun. Send whatever you would enjoy getting. Participating in the Traveling Daylily Christmas Party: Who wants to sign up next? PS>>>I know some of you may not celebrate Christmas. If there are at least 2 of you, and if you will e-mail me, I will put you in touch with each other and you can plan your own party. Angel Hugs, |

| Cindy-Nice box you just received, sorry to hear you won't be in the Christmas swap. Cody-Fiddle I meant to check all those daylilies to make sure I still had. I did trade some with a DG member so I need to make sure. I did get almond puff and cabbage flower in a trade this year so won't need those two. I had to add them to my trade list. Annie-Thanks to our Lord and Saviour about Shelby's 5 year remission. God is good all the time. Paul-So very thankful your home was spared during all those fires in CA. That would have to be awful to have your home gone in minutes. All the memories and treasures of your life and your families. God is good all the time. It has been a hectic week-end for me. We shopped for living room furniture all day Saturday, came home for 10 minutes and left again to go and eat supper with the coon hunters club. Today found out my Uncle passed away Saturday so cooked for and visited with cousins. We took a drive to see the fall colors and I could not believe Lake Chategue. It was a sad site to see all those lake homes with huge dry holes in their backyard where the water used to be. I know it has been a dry summer but didn't know the lake was down like that. Posting some pictures of Dawson in the tiny town we found while leaf looking. Shirley |

| okay I sign up Mamma G she loves christmas so am sure she wants in. More hugs to Talon, that house is beautiful what a talented man you have. mine can do the yard beautifully but has no carpenter skills. I am happy with my retirment home tho. paid off is the key means dh can retire at 65. will be nice just being togeather playing in the garden. grandaughter and gg child are doing well. hope she gains some weight she wears a size 0. don't take after chubby g-ma. When I was a child I lived with my grandparents, grandpa brought home a live turkey in a gunny sack, kept it in the basement till kill time, I made friends with it then cried all day on kill day and wouldn't eat it. any other turkey lovers out there?hugs to all carol |
|
| Aww Carol! Thanksgiving is NOT your favorite Holiday I can tell, how sad. I met a girl who raised 2 Easter chicks (back in the day when they sold them at the dimestore for Easter) in her basement & backyard for many years. At night when they opened the door to the basement up would come those 2 roosters to be introduced & perform for treats. She's a vegetarian... Paid off last home ~ congratulations! I'm a bit jealous, but someday H & I will get to have a home again. Dawn, it's true, that house is just magnificent! Have I said that 100 times yet? Tell your DH he has become calender quality from all that hard work, *wink* Shirley I can well imagine how sad that lake looked - I saw ariel photos of the nearly dry lakes in Georgia on TV & realized how bad the drought is. Prayers for gentle rains. Snow in the mountains here already so I'm carrying my 2 special Brugs in & out twice a day. Both are finally filled with flowers now that I started fertilizing them, hurrah! My import replacement is coming, it was the only envelope intercepted in the last round of auctions, so hopefully these will make it through. He even asked me if he could substitute one sold out batch with Braided Edgings x Bed of Nails!!? Fingers crossed here. Decieded that I want just one new daylily for 2008: Tet. Lavender Blue Baby. Wish me luck, huh? lol Rox, you were RIGHT ON about what we could swap for Thanksgiving: ...Anita?? Debbie??

| You are both welcome! Cody, the pink stuff is Graptopetalum paraguayense, the jellybean sedum clump and the others ARE research projects. They were happily living in daylily pots, but all need Winter protection. (Hope you win Bluegrass this time *grin*) |
|
| I was so sad to read about your DH's job hassle. So glad you at least got some bliss & respite from worry out in the warm Sun planting Spring bulbs... Here's a big hug and a blast of postive energy (((~<>~))) for finding a better lawyer and for finding those new opportunities now open... |

| HAPPY HALLOWEEN T.D.s!!! Check out the TD picture thread #5.....I posted some new pics, and a few esp. for Paul. Nice to see more of us posting. But I'd still like to see some of the "quiet" members speak up. Would love to hear how every one's Fall is going. I know.....a PRIZE! That usually gets things moving. ; ) I have a very cool, brand new book that I bought this morning to give away to the winner. It's a book all about pumpkins! Very fitting for the Halloween & Thanksgiving season. A must have for your gardening book collection! It has beautiful pictures and lots of ideas for neat things to do with pumpkins....even for weddings! You should see the awesome "pumpkin fountain". I will definitely be making one next year. Ok....here's the deal. Whoever guesses what Talon dressed up as for Halloween is the winner of the book. You must be specific! Hope everyone has a delightfully spooky day! Don't eat too much chocolate (Gloria)! LOL HUGS, |

I've signed up for her's too...Don't forget to sign up for both if you can. Going to look at everyones pictures now.. |

| Good Morning All, Late Happy Halloween wishes to everyone. Hope you all had a fun holiday. My daughter dressed as Little Red Riding Hood for what will probably be her last year of trick or treating. My sons were way too old and cool to trick or treat and just hung with friends this year. Dawn, I'm going to guess that Talon dressed as a Toucan for Halloween. Loved those two new pictures of him on the pictures thread. What a sweetie! And speaking of pictures, Shirley, that Dawson just gets more gorgeous with each new picture. He will definitely have the girls hanging around when he gets older! Cindy, you're welcome - glad you liked your box. I know all about shopping and the "one for me, one for you" system. Great Halloween boxes everyone! I, myself am still planting bulbs....... Annie, good to hear from you. Great news that yet another year has gone by in Shelby's remission. Before you know it, we will be celebrating 10. So sorry to hear about Joey, but I know you will keep your chin up and stay strong and focused for the family. Debbie, I will join your Christmas swap too. I think I read in one of the posts that Shirley was in too. I don't think that Anita planned on organizing a Thanksgiving swap, I think she was just wondering if we were going to do one (read her post 10/26 at 9:19). SO..... if there is no one else that wants to do it, I will organize the..... ****I AM THANKFUL FOR YOU SWAP**** I will incorporate Roxy's ideas (had already been thinking along these lines too - you know what they say about "great minds"?) and I will also come up with a few more ideas of my own. I will keep the rules somewhat small and simple since we will be working on a shorter timeline. I will take sign ups until Tuesday, 11/6 and will post partners names on Wednesday 11/7. Boxes will need to be mailed by Wednesday 11/14 and I will do a random drawing for a prize from whoever has their box out on time. I will be back later tonight with specifics on the boxes. It looks to me from reading through posts that this was the interest for the Thanksgiving swap so far: 1. MaryB Let me know if I've gotten this wrong and you would like your name removed. Off to plant a few bulbs before work. Back later. |
|
| Good guess MaryB, but that's not it. The Toucan was one of the costumes I looked at, but couldn't seem to find one available in his size. Good try! Keep guessing.. ~Dawn (mamabirrd) |

|
| Morning Everyone: While Thanksgiving should be one of the most celebrated and meaningful holidays, too often it is forgotten. It's jammed between Halloween - basically an overblown holiday which means absolutely nothing and Christmas, while being a deeply meaningful holiday itself, each year it becomes more and more lavish and commercialized. I was in the stores last week - huge multiple aisles of Halloween items, huge multiple aisles of Christmas items and one small end cap of an aisle with some ugly plastic turkeys. It's a shame that that is what Thanksgiving has become - just "turkey day". We've lost the meaning of what this holiday was meant to be - not only to share a dinner with our family and friends - but a time to really reflect on what we have in our lives that we are thankful for - the big and the small. So, with this in mind, I would like you all to prepare your boxes with a thankful heart for what we have and what we are able to share. Remember, simple is good..... *****I AM THANKFUL FOR YOU SWAP***** 1. A handwritten, heartfelt card or note telling your swap partner why you are thankful for them being in your life. 2. As Roxy suggested, something in our life that we are thankful for such as our favorite handcream, gardening tool, etc. Keeping with the thought that we should be thankful for little things, this MUST cost $10 or less. 3. On the other end of the spectrum, we should also be thankful for how good life is to us sometimes and be willing to share that with those we love - I would like you to send your swap partner a promisary note for a fan or two (whichever you can do) of one of your very finest daylilies! Please be specific on what you think you will be able to send so that we can daydream this winter. These will need to be sent in April or May of '08, bareroot, regular parcel post is fine - no need for priority mail - we'll keep costs down since this involves mailing a second box. 4. Please share one or two favorite Thanksgiving recipes - something that is traditional at your table. 5. A current copy of your favorite gardening magazine - something for your partners to snuggle up with as the days grow colder. 6. Please include a small treat for whatever pet(s) your partner shares their home with. We all know how thankful we are for their love, devotion and companionship. If your partner has no pets, perhaps something to feed the outside birds. 7. A Fall item of your choice. 8. Bulb(s) for forcing to brighten up our homes. ****************** Please sign up by Tuesday, 11/6. I will post partner names on Wednesday 11/7. Boxes will need to be mailed by Wednesday, 11/14. I will draw a name from those who have their boxes out on time and send a prize to the winner. MaryB

| Boy what a box I love ya back miss shirley ! went to old house today to pick it up. good thing too. They don't speak much english so didn't know plants went dormant they were about to dig up all the plants and toss them thinking they were dead. so they were happy to hear they would be back. they have turned it into a day care. shirley did have a nice pumpkin graphic on the front, they thought there was one inside. reminds me of funny story I heard about a place in africa that had pics on everything of what food was inside the container. first care pkg from america shocked them when they saw the gerber baby food jars. My box was incredible crocosmia, babtlon, constance and star of east lots of each, japanese iris chitose hime, bearded iris boo, daylily havanna day dreaming red hardy amaryllis, can I plant this outside in zone 7? 3 calla lillies, bag of pink rain lillies, double yellow creme upstar tulips. yeehaw affirmation jasmine soap. a boyd bear key chain that says bear hugs. a beautiful wolf welcome sign that says welcome friends, already on front door, I love it a wolf figurine that sorry to say is in numerous pieces. I love my goodies. thankyou Shirley you are the best. will try to get a pic tomorrow. hard frost last night so too cold to plant, will do that tomorrow also. big bear hugs carol |

| Carol-So glad you found the box..didn't realize I was sending it to your old address. Gosh UPS is as bad as USPS for breaking things. I'm ticked the figurine arrived broken. Yes I leave the amaryllis outside here and they do great. They really multiply quickly too. Saw your pictures on the picture thread, your yard and house looks so neat, I really like it. Canna-You are too much lady. I was just looking at our local paper and all the staff at a local Drs. office dressed up as bees and the two Drs. (who are husband and wife) dressed up as the bee keeper and the other a flower. Where are all the trick or treat pictures? Would love to see some pictures. Dawson went with his cousins so will post a picture of them. I can't remember all the guesses as to what Talon was so lets see I will say. Shirley |
|
|
| Mad duck ~ LOL !! That kid is adorable no matter what! Great suit Dawn & congratulations to Auntie Canna. I did not get ONE trick or treater out here in the industrial zoned country. I DID get my seeds from Germany, though! Doing such a happy dance that I wish I could find my maracas! Check out these high hopes: Now my most grandiose daylily dreams are all almost filled for 2008 (did I tell you that I have 3 healthy Bridey sdlgs?) Just that one last auction that ends tomorrow... Hope y'all are having a sunny happy weekend ~m'

| Talon is just so adorable.....every picture is cuter than the last!! Congratulations Canna! Pumpkin book....hmmm; You'll have to tell us all about it when it comes. Sorry I've been MIA. I've been lost in the CO-OP. WOW! I'm gonna have to take out a second mortgage just for plants if I don't watch it. LOL I've been trying to get all my daylilies in the ground before winter. I had 30 or so in pots that I bought early in the summer, then I got the free daylilies from my friend that were all bare root. I got them all planted finally! Now back to planting the potted ones. Some of the free ones were big clumps but most were single or double fans. I'll try to get a picture of the "new" part of the garden later on and post it. Roxy |
|
- Posted by brittneysgran z6NC (My Page) on Sun, Nov 4, 07 at 14:03
| Roxy-Please post your new part of the garden or all of the garden. LOL we love pictures. Canna-I've never been to the Casino in Cherokee but have went by it. They say they have one of the best buffet bars anywhere. WE get all the traffic from Georgia through our little town headed to Cherokee. Carol-I have already forgotten half of the things I put in that box myself. Marea-Nice seed crosses, sure hope you get some nice ones out of those. My crocosmia man in England has forgotten me I think. He said he would let me know what postage and the cost of my bulbs would be but haven't heard from him. Need to get busy lots to do and not much daylight left. Cody-Please keep the daylilies until Spring...I am having a time keeping all the last ones I traded for alive. It is just too late in the year to get them established right now. I know your zone is colder than my 6 so we better hold off for our trade. I'm trying to carry them in and out each warm day but it is a pain. I've lost half of them already. Shirley |
|
| Shirley, thank you. Of course if I get any nice sdlgs you KNOW I will share. Crocosmia from England? Oohlala, I think I ran across his website the other day, loads & loads of exotic cultivars ~ hope he gets back to you soon! I'm so sad to hear you've been losing daylilies. That just plain sucks, doesn't it? Do you know WHY they are succumbing? The last one I got in this year were yours but they all dug in right away & are doing fine. I won my auction for Tet Lavender Blue Baby!! Spring shipment will bring a serious celebration here in Oregon *grin* |

| Marea-Looked up Lavender Blue Baby..That is a nice one..way to go. The daylilies I lost were just too small I guess they really have to be big for planting this time of year. Yes I want those different cultivars of crocosmias, sure hope he lets me know something soon. I have a garden club meeting today, I really enjoy the lunch and meetings we have. Got to make sure my speaker is going to show up...Bye Shirley |

| Cody-Wow nice ones..I got bonnie holley this year also. I try to stay away from the lily auction. Roxie-Hope you get your computer fixed. I hate computer problems. I have the worst luck, I have been furnitrue looking for months and finally found the leather I was looking for so purchased it two weeks ago. They were to deliver it this Thursday (I have already sold mine so have none) well Ashley furniture where I bought it burnt to the ground last night. Looks like I will have to start all over again. Thanksgiving is almost here and no furniture. Shirley |

| Hi, I have some Stella De Oro daylily seeds I got in a trade that I don't need and some Happy Return daylily seeds. I also have some open-polinated daylily seeds from my garden - several trades. Will send them for SASBE if you are interested in them. Thanks, |
|
| Thank you so much, Annette, but no ~ I'm obsessed with blue & purple & don't have enough room for what I have. Shirley!! RATS! That's awful! Hopefully that company can reorder your furniture if the insurance claim goes quick?? Glad you kept your computer chair... Cody, you DO have exquisite taste. Sorry about all the wins LOL! I know exactly what you mean about the mixed joy & anxiety. Here's hoping you get LOADS of tips tonight ~<>~ Aren't y'all gonna join in the Thanksgiving and/or Christmas swaps??? OK, back to listing auctions to pay for my win, |

| We've had two more to join our Christmas Party: Jo and Annette. Now our list looks like this: Annette Annette...I would like to have some of the open pollinated seeds...I have Stella coming out the wahzoo. Let me know how much to send/paypal. Sorry Shirley about all the problems lately. I can't help about the furniture...but, if any of the daylilies I sent you don't make it or if I have any you would like, let me know and I'll replace them in the spring. I put some out late too...I'm hoping they will be okay in the spring. Cody sounds like you got some beauties. I'm staying away from the auctions...I'm hoping Maryott's will offer some of their beauties cheap again this coming spring. I think MaryB. said she would post the partners for the Thanksgiving swap soon. I'm getting excited to start our holiday trades. Jo...it was so good to hear from you. Please come back soon and meet our new members Roxy and Annette. I know you will love them both. You have been missed. Doing the happy dance for Mamabear and Grandcub Lauren. Hugs are sent to the proud parents also. This is Gloria's 1st granddaughter...do you see hairbow's and frilly dresses in this childs future? Maybe a parasol to keep that ol' southern sun off her delicate skin. (Just kidding...but here's a real hug and congrat's. Angel Hugs, |

| Debbie-That's so sweet of you. I know two I just lost is Jane Trimmer and Marys Baby. Spacecoast Behavior Pattern was struggling for awhile but has perked up a bit. Actually I only lost one of yours and I think that is great considering what those daylilies went through. LOL Marea-Yes my computer chair is still here...I really do need a new one though. Going to be down in the 20's here tonight... Shirley |
|
| Good Morning Everyone, Brrrr....it's getting cold here. (Still planting bulbs, Miss Cindy) LAST CALL FOR THE THANKSGIVING SWAP. I will post partner names later this afternoon. So far we have: 1. MaryB If I've missed anyone, please let me know. |
|
| Looks like there will be no more sign ups for the Thanksgiving swap, so we will partner up like this: Jo & Shirley List of rules are in my November 2 post. As always, you are welcome to send more if you wish. Please mail out your boxes by next Wednesday, 11/14 so that they are received well before Thanksgiving. Have fun! |

| Yeah Jo so glad you are in this swap with us. We as Americans sure do have alot to be thankful for. I am so thankful for getting my furniture yesterday. It was a store and not the warehouse that burned. I really like it and have always wanted leather. My livingroom looks so nice with all the new stuff. I told DH that furniture will have to be our last. He hopes to re-tire (don't know if I ever will) so there won't be lots of money for extras I'm sure. Shirley |

Doug said he would have rather had pumpkin ale ;). This week I started classes to get my Real Estate license! I will be done at the end of this month. Boy, is it a lot of work! I am in class for 6 hours a day and then I have tons of homework every evening. My exam is next Friday and then I have to take another class before I can apply for my license. Yahoo I am so excited! | Good morning everyone;) No time for the rest of my catch-up right now;( WOW, I am so glad I did not get in this months swap, Just found out last night DH is taking this week off, only works Mon-Tues next week & then another week off, I don't EVER get anything done with him around. Have to get back to looking for the stupid book DH wants me to find, have a great day all..:)Anita |
|
| ...I'm online researching MaryB again to finish packing my swap box *grin* ~ glad I have some time & can have the postman come to pick up pkgs, this is fun! I have my H. home for the week too and it's storming *sigh* Debbie, can we change the Christmas Party Swap requirements to just AT LEAST ONE ITEM off the list so EVERYONE can join in? [hint, group!] |

| Jean-Would love to have some of your snow-anything with moisture in it. I had to water again this past week-end, it's so dry the ground is like powder. I hate this time where it gets dark at 6:00. I can't get anything done when I get home. Anita-My couch and loveseat have recliners but my other set did also. DH hogs the recliner so if I ever want to recline it will have to be on the couch or loveseat. I'm curious as to why you don't like them to recline. Loved your pictures on the picture thread. My I bet your yards and home was absolutely gorgeous with all those beautiful blooms. Canna-Real estate sure is the job to be in now. I think there is a real estate office on every road and corner here. I've heard they make very good money. How did you do in Cherokee? Marea-I thought for sure EVERYONE would want to get in on the Christmas swap. I wish just one time we could all get in on a swap, that would really be fun. Jo-Sure miss your posts and I almost have your box ready to go. Stopped at Lowes to pick up something so hopefully will get it mailed tomorrow. Does anyone have a size 12 Victorian outfit that I could borrow? I would take very good care of it and mail it right back to you after I wear it on Dec. 7th. I'm trying to help out the Garden Club and stand in a window display in our town. The owner of the shop will pay the Garden Club $150.00 for one night (3 hours) of standing in the window of their store. Our town does a Window Wonderland with a Victorian Theme and it is just beautiful. Folks come from miles to see it every year. They have a white coach and white horses pulling the coach with a driver all dressed in white. Folks pay to ride around the town in the coach. Shirley |

| Roxy, your "I'm Thankful For You" box went out in the mail today. The conf. # is 01038555749283561820. I hope you like everything. Thanks MaryB you are a wonderful sponsor with some great ideas. I had so much fun getting this box together for Roxy. Marea...I know everyone else understands what you meant by changing the swap requirements but it has gone completely over my silly noodle. Will you e-mail me and tell me your idea? I'm open to any suggestions. Speaking of the December Swap, here are the participants that I have so far: Debbie I would love to get at least one more to even out the number of participants but if not, I'll do the old switcheroo in matching you up. I need to know by tomorrow (11/15/07) if you plan to play with us so I can assign partners and finalize rules etc. A big hug and welcome back to JO and MaryS. Shirley if I had a Victorian dress I would gladly loan it to you. It sounds like a beautiful scene. I've been checking out the photo thread...BEAUTIFUL pictures. Sharon, Cindy, and Sherri...I miss seeing you post. Debbie |
|
| Debbie, I just meant that it would be easier for those of us with no money to be required to send just ONE gift in our box for the Christmas swap? Shirley ~ what FUN that Victorian wonderland sounds like! Sure hope you find that appropriate dress soon. The Costume rental shops in that theatre town I used to live in were FULL of period costumes, I wonder if that's a possiblity there. Hope you can post photos of the event. MaryB, your I'm Thankful for You Swap box is going out in tomorrows mail. So sorry I'm late. Marea |
|
| Good Morning Everyone, Marea, I was so glad to see you check in. I know Oregon got high winds the other night, so I've been thinking about you. Your swap box went out yesterday, so hopefully you'll get it Saturday. Hope you like! Shirley, your towns Winter Wonderland sounds so cool. It must be beautiful to see the whole town take a step back in time. Do you actually ever get real snow for it? Wish I too had a dress to loan. Hope you find one. Also hoping for lots of rain for you soon. I forgot to tell you all that Annie emailed me last week. She wanted me to let you know that she won't be posting much for awhile and that she cannot take part in the Dec. swap. She will be going back and forth to Chicago when needed with her nephew Joey and family. His surgery will take place in December. Please say a prayer for them. We just had a few nice warm days - in the 60's, but today back to the cold. I think we may even get a few snow flurries by the weekend. We lucked out here when we had the last cold spell - no snow, but a town just about an hour SW of me got almost a foot. Oh, I'm not ready... Canna, good luck on your test tomorrow. I've heard the exam is extremely hard. Better get some things done before work. |

It's still tremendously painful for me to sit at all ... and don't even ask about going to the bathroom ... ouch! LOL Hubby is letting me use his laptop right now, but this is still preety haed to type lieing on my back. I will go back and read what i've missed, but won't be posting again till i can sit at the home compter. miss you gals and guys, sharon |

| OUCH Sharon...I hope you feel better real soon. Marea...I see your point about not wanting to hit the pocketbook too much at this season. So I am going to repost the same list of items I did before but leave it to each individual to send your partner what you can. This list is just a guideline and if you have an idea that isn't on this list...feel free to include or replace it with an idea of your own. The main idea here is to remember that Christmas is about love, families (including long distance families like the TD's) and sharing what we can. Where it is one thing or many:0) The List: 1. A special ornament. Made or bought. THE PARTNERS: Since we have an uneven number I will do the partners like we usually do when that happens. Debbie sends to Annette Remember to mail your boxes out by December 15th to make sure they arrive by Christmas. If anyone needs a mailing list or wants to check to see if I have a questionaire available on your partner...feel free to e-mail me. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas. Debbie

| Debbie, Marea and MaryB I know if you had a costume you would let me borrow it and that is so sweet. I will get lots of pictures and post when we do it. MaryB-No it has never snowed that early here but it would be wonderful if it did. Annie-Thinking of you and Joey and all the family..special prayers for you...God bless you Joey Sharon-So sorry to hear about your back...when the old back goes everything goes..I have been there and done that. It is blowing snow here..it was in the 70's yesterday, rained last night and temps are now in the 30's...You just never know what the weather is going to do. Who knows it may just snow on the Window Wonderland. Shirley |

| Hello Everyone! I'm B A C K ! ! ! I've been offline for 10 days! Ended up buying a new computer. Not exactly what I wanted to do right before Christmas. Too much money and time. Learning a new system takes so long....at least for me and my pea brain. I've got Vista now. What a pain! I've got too much to do this time of year to be learning anything new. LOL But I certainly am happy to be back online. You don't realize how addictive surfin' the net is until you have to quit cold turkey. LOL I'm temporarily using yahoo e-mail. If anyone wants to reach me it's: roxanneshrewsbury at yahoo.com They haven't retreived all my files off my computer yet. So I'm working in the dark here. LOL Debbie, I e-mailed you this morning. Your box is ready all I need is a mailing addy. Glad to be back! Roxanne |
|
| HI EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A GREAT BIG WELCOME TO OUR 2 NEW MEMBERS, Annette and Roxy I got a wonderful box from our very own Miss Shirley (smiles) It was filled with goodies... Lets see, Most of the yardwork is finished, all we have left to do is cover up my potting bench, lay mulch, and put the bubbler in the pond, then we are set for the winter. Whew..... didn't think we would ever get it all done. I am very glad to see so many of our group posting. Just like old times. I will do my very best to get here more often now. On my honor, lol. Dawn, I will have to post a picture of our little (tongue in cheek) Alex. He has grown so much. He just turned 1 on Oct. 22, but he is 32in tall, and weighs nearly 25 lbs.and has 12+ teeth, which you have to watch out for, as he likes to try them out on any of your handy body parts that presents itself. He was a turtle for Halloween, our oldest gd was cinderella well, I need to go back and read all the posts. Shirley, hugs to all, |

| Paul-Happy Belated Birthday to you....Glad we are only one day late. Thanks MaryB for being on your toes about Paul's Birthday. I'm having some low back pain and it's driving me crazy. Looks like I am going to have to get out the heating pad again. It's no fun to get old. Shirley |

| Happy Belated Bithday Paul! May you have your best year ever! Poor Sharon! I just read your post, wish I could come help you. And poor Shirley! Hope both your backs heal quick! Mary, I thought you might like those streaked hosta seeds, giggle. Here's hoping you hit the genetic jackpot. I saved a few for me to try, too. I THINK that is a little variegated Ginger plant I sent you, but the greenhouse that I bought it from said, twice, that it's a HOUSEPLANT. I laughed & bought it anyway. I think it's a beauty, hope you have room for it. Please be sure to announce when daylily planting season comes to your area so I can send your daylily. Those were the prettiest bones at the local pet store & the clerk said her dogs love them, so hope Chelsea is thankful for 'em. *grin* Jo, so good to hear from you. Thanks for updates! Your grandson ~ all the kids ~ growing up so fast!! The years are racing now for me apparently. Roxy, so sorry about your 'puter hassles. Glad you made it back so quick & glad it meant you got a new shiny one, tho, regardless of less Christmas money. I went through a complete crash last year & had to buy a new one too, cheaper than fixing the old one. I am having fun choosing what to send ya for Christmas ~ will be sure to post when I get the box in the mail. Happy Monday y'all ~m'

| Thank you. I watched "The Fountain" to see if I can pick up any clues... sorry to say I didn't find any :-). It's a strange, what the heck is going on kind of a movie, but I enjoyed watching Rachel Weisz (you ladies may enjoy Hugh Jackman more?) Paul |

| It's getting closer to Turkey Day. The boss is thinking about giving us three days off this week. I sure hope he does, one day for shopping, one day for house cleaning and one day for cooking for our Thanksgiving get together. I have it all planned out. Has any one been watching The Bachelor? What's up with that guy? I just knew he was going to pick Jenni, what a curve ball he threw not picking either of them. Shirley |

| Hello Everybody, I received the most wonderful box from Debbie. My husband picked it up at the P.O. for me on Friday and forgot to mention it! We left to visit the kids in Virginia on Saturday and got home Monday afternoon. The box was in his truck all that time. Thankfully we didn't get any rain or freezing weather. Believe me......He'll never do that again! Where do I begin!?!? Huge box....totally stuffed! How wonderfully talented you are Debbie. My bird house gourd is nothing short of amazing. We both OOOO'd and AAAAH's over it. All my favorite things are on it. A warm and wonderful card . . . Really made my day. Thank you soooo much Debbie. I really love everything you sent. You have certainly brightened up my thanksgiving. Your box went out priority on Monday....I'm hoping it gets to you tomorrow. #03063030000053660063 We will be leaving for Virginia again tomorrow....probably won't be back till Monday.....soooo H A P P Y . . . T H A N K S G I V I N G . . . E V E R Y O N E ! ! ! Roxanne |

| Oh Marea, I'm worried about your box... You hadn't mentioned yet that you had received it so I just pulled out the del. conf. slip. When checking it, it said it was delivered last Friday morning (11/16). Please let me know if it came (DC# 0306 0320 0002 2358 9902). MaryB |

| Oh Mary! I rushed right to the other office in this warehouse complex as soon as I read that - the box WAS delivered to that business last Friday. That receptionist doesn't like my looks I guess - she will not even bother to call me when boxes are misdelivered there (often) let alone open the door & let me know when i walk right by her window in the mornings to my mailbox on the highway. Grrr. I was angry just now so forwent offering her money to let me know like I'd planned on. Anyhow - what a magnificent box!! ~TWO loves of cranberry orange bread with golden raisens with recipe + 2 others (going to be the highlight of my Thanksgiving, i can tell already. How cool to send the recipe, too. I'm going to try the Pumpkin Crunch Custard and Squash & Apples, too. Yum) ~A years subscription to horticulture!! Thank you very much! My subscription had run out & I'm so happy I will get more. ~Fig & Brown Sugar handsoap that smells delicious on my hand as I type. I love it! ~Mixed nuts - heavenly ~A Cadbury cramello bar - decadent & one of my favs ~Blushing Beauty tulips, which were on my wishlist, to force, along with a HUGE Amaryllis 'Aphrodite' for Christmas!! I have a thing for these too, even sprouted a sdlg this Summer. ~TWO kinds of kitty treats and TWO fun toys these are the BEST! ~TWO cards. The thankful note is going to be taped to my bathroom wall so I will read it every morning & never be depressed again. And she gave me a beautiful primitive countryside thanksgiving card that adds, oh by the way, I'm sending you 'PLAYING WITH SHARKS' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you Mary! thanks for everything ****** Roxy ~ The Red Lion Amaryllis you sent me is blooming beautifully for Thanksgiving, I am thankful for you, too. |
