| Etravia, Hello. I have celosia flamingo feather and will put your name on it. Jenny. |
| Ok, I'll have to join. I can tell already I have lots of peoples wants : ) I'll just have to get my behind in gear to get pkts. put together in time. I am so behind on seed pkts. Humm...my top 10 wants...I don't have a true top 10 so I'll say -anything blue -anything that goes well with blue -anything cool like the giant celosia I grew this year -annuals that grow well in pots -a favorite of yours : ) Remy |
| Susie: I have a couple of questions. Should we just send 2007 seeds or are 2006 okay? Seeds that we gathered ourselves, or are extras from trades okay? Remy, I wonder if your giant celosia was the same as mine. It looked like flamingo feathers only it was 6 ft. tall. I would like to join, but haven't seen a lot of wishes that I can fill yet. I have lots of seeds, though, so I will send what I can. I do have quite a few salvias, and some gaillardias from trades. I have some B&B seeds but they are from 2006, and my plants don't seem to be cooperating this year. Here is my wish list from my gardenweb page: Asters - Ostrich Feather and Unicum Please send me the information. Becky |

| Ok, question for you guys, the Echinacea sunrise and sunset, has any of you actually grown them from seed? From what I read they don't come true, but does that mean they revert back to something like purple conflowers, or do they still look simular? They were on my top lists, but then I found out they're not supposed to come true, plus I had a few trades fall through on them. Flowergardenlady, I have Asclepia syriaca (common milkweed) harvested, which has large purple or white blooms, and is very fragrant. But it's one of those plants that a few select want in their gardens. Mostly people raising Monarchs actually enjoy it. (there's a pic of it on my trade page) Otherwise I have a few other varieties from trades and orders I could share. |
- Posted by flowergardenlady TN. 6 (My Page) on Sat, Oct 20, 07 at 14:44
| Kek19, I have never tried the hybrid seeds before myself, i also read where hybrids don't come true but i really don't know for sure if they revert back to the purple or not, i just collect the seeds for people who like to experiment with flowers to see what they come up with. I did have a seedling that came up beside my sunrise Echinacea and it was Pink and on the cone part reminded me of green eyes. |

| Susie, I tried to resist but I see a lot of wants I can fulfill if I get out in the garden, especially Salvias, Petunias and Coleus. I don't think I can get them harvested and packaged by November 15. If you are going to extend until November 30, I will get busy harvesting. Alana |
| I'd like to play but have a couple questions - is the deadline for sending november 15 or 30? is there a maximum or minimum we should send? are we putting what we have of other's wish lists on here so they can be marked off or are we just sending from their wish lists? Top 10 |

NEW MEMBER's 1yr or less With no seeds please Write if you have not gotten a reply from me lets try agin I hope everyone remebers to look at others want list in the gw page so if its not listed then maybe you can still share . this is going to be so much fun I have been collecting seeds all weekend :) well off to help sguanzon:)) Be back later . |
| Susie, I know you said at the beginning we would get back the same number of packs we sent in, so I am wondering where the seeds for the newbies are going to come from? Don't you want everyone to send an assortment to go to the newbies? Or did I miss the post where you explained that part? Also, I have Susie, Alana, flowrs4ever and moonphase wanting salvias and also saw that trish robertson and momcat listed salvias, so I will send some for them, too. I have more from people's wish list but have been too busy to go through my seeds yet. Becky |

| Ok SAD SAD NEWS :( I have been searching about my sage/salvia plant & I trully thought the seeds very in the podfrom where the flower come out so after all blooms were gone I cut stem to bring in to dry in hopes that the seeds would drop out :) easy right ??? Will No Seeds . So all the dryed tops is just the sage/salvia itself |
Here is a link that might be useful: Bog Sage
| Susie, I have an uliginosa and mine did not set any seeds, either. With salvias, you have to let the seeds dry on the plant, though. I don't think it is a hybrid, so it must set seed for some people. Bumblebees are a problem with salvias because they poke holes in the calyx, which is where the seed is formed. Becky |

| Being that I was computerless for the past couple days, I got lots of seed packets made for the swap. Now I just have to fill them with seeds! Becky, Shirley, Thanks to everyone who says they have seeds for me : ) |
| Hello, I think I have to join you guys! I have a few of the posted wants on here. My question: are we only sending in things on people's lists, or is there random swapping, too? I have: and I'll be doing more later, and posting my list. I know that one thing on my list will be a reseeding petunia that has a strong scent. It could either be an heirloom petunia from a catalog, or just something that pops up in your yard every year. |

| Hello everyone Maggie I would love to try the lance Corpral if you have any left to share, thanks ! I have shoo fly plant and bunny tails grass I can send th Lisa. Susie, I would LOVE some white siberian Iris !!!!! Stage rat, YES I would like some, and thanks soo much ! Can I interest anyone in Shasta Daisy ?? I can add them in, if so. Ok, It is going to take some time to go thru everyones list, but I hope to have some more to share. Susie, I am actually considered a newbie still, but I do have some seeds to share...been harvesting all I can this fall. BTW Susie, I have to tell you I am sooo enjoying the plants you sent me in a swap a few months back, thanks again ! Susie, I did a swap a month ago, same way as this one, what helped the person that held the swap, was we ALL sent in the wish list seeds, in a zip lock baggie with the persons gardenweb name on it, that way YOU wont have to sort them, it would already be done..then we put the extra seeds ( which would be for the newbies) in one for you to use as you wish.(marked NEWBIE seeds) Not sure if you want to adopt this idea, but I know it helped, and wasnt hard to do. |

| I would like to add a category to my wish list if I may. I used to grow quite a few everlastings and somehow I have gotten away from them over the years. If any one has Helichrysum, Gomphrena (I already have QIS), Helipterum, Acroclinium, Statice or other kinds of everlastings, I would love to have some. So far I have Zinnia haageana Aztec Sunset for the folks with zinnia on their list, Black Dragon Coleus for those requesting Coleus, at least a couple of types of Petunias for those requesting Petunias. Remy, I am sending you a few seeds from Frillytunia white that I had this year. It was less productive of seed than most and I have no idea how true they will be. Momcat I have a few Japanese MG's for you, three different Celosias for Trish, Tithonia for those who requested it and I think I have a few Lupin seeds for Brittneysgran. I have quite a few packs of Gomphocarpus physocarpus syn Asclepias physocarpus if anyone wants it. I had 5 large plants this year that were totally eaten by Monarch cats and grew back out each time for at least 3 generations of butterflies. LMK |
| I'd like to play too! I will update my wish list and post it as well. I went into everyone's pages because I don't have the latest and greatest to grant everyone's top 10 wishes. Don't be bashful about telling me "no"! Unfortunately, I don't have everything 'named' and I grow flowers in mixes so colors are hard to identify once they all go to seed! cottageflowers This is all I have so far. I'm going to go back over the lists this week to see if I can try to send something for everyone. I just started to try to get my 'have' list together but it's a nightmare not having it done for so long... |
| ramazz, I would love to try some of any of your salvias. I have some Penstemon Husker's Red, Rudbeckia Indian Summer, Echinacea Magnus that I have harvested so far if anyone is interested. White Four O'Clocks will be ready soon. Deb |

| Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween! I also wanted to let you know my list is basically a "dream list" - I've got plenty of theme gardens in the yard - the kids have named them "butterfly corner," "wildflower u(niversity)," "the peanut - (roses, columbine, asters, peony)", the "clothesline" (hmm they're starting to get a little less creative - aren't they - basically tall perennials), the "kiss" (oranges, yellows, and reds), and next year there'll be a "chocolate" garden for my daughter, a "Man" garden for DH (natives to Nebraska), and my purple/yellow corner. |
| oops forgot two - the shade wildflower garden - it belongs to the old man maple (tree is over 150 years old) so I try and get older flowers that have maybe been around as long as he has and a rock garden with basically sedums in it for now |

| Susie, I'm sorry to hear about your niece. I hope she is feeling well very soon. This seed swapping thing has me hooked. I was only going to do one this year, but it's so fun that I want in on another one. Since I'm not very specific, I've put a description of my gardens at the bottom. My Zone 5b dream list starts with: I love working with cottage garden and native plants. I prefer PERENNIALS as I have too much area to keep up with annuals every year. Thank you Susie for hosting this exchange. I certainly appreciate all the work you are doing. Squirrel Girl |
| Sorry, to hear about your niece, Susie. I hope she's feeling better soon. I couldn't sign into my page on Sunday to updated it but I think I have it set to go now. I don't know how you all keep up on them. Please feel free to post or email me with anything you like! This is the last wish-list swap I'm doing so feel free to ask. If I have it, it will go into your baggy. Ladyglads, most of my shrubs aren't setting seed. (I do have spirea). They were new this season so didn't put out many flowers at all. I have my eye on the wine Weigela for you though and will send a packet if I can get any. Here is my wish list that seems to change daily! I really need shade lovers, although that's not apparent from my list LOL! I just put in an arborvitae hedge which is going to get huge and block out my sun! If you have something you think I shouldn't be without, it would be much appreciated. I'm not fussy in the least bit. I've been leaning toward variegated plants lately. I won't have a package out for another couple of weeks in case we get some more sign-ups. I have some stuff for the newbies, too but I'm going to have trouble with our new Zone 9 friend from here in NY! |

| Oh lordy, you put my two favorite things together in one thread - wintersowing and seed swapping. I am so in. :-) Janet1_2007, I am a regular at the big box death rows too. Yay for frugal landscaping and plant rescues all in one! :-) I am low on seeds to send to swaps thanks to the two big swaps I've done so far already, but I'm still collecting seeds so will have more to share here by the time I send in my package. My top 10 wish list: Also awaiting final word on the actual deadline. Sweet autumn clematis seed here is finally ripening, but not ready yet. Not sure if it would be ready by November 30, but almost positive it won't be by November 15. Thanks for hosting, susie! Terri |

| Yuk, it's too early for snow! Thank goodness for winter seed activities to keep us busy during the cold months. I put poppies in your baggie for you, susie. I just got them in a commercial order, haven't tried to grow them yet. The White Cloud is linked below. The other 2 are similiar to the orange CA. poppies but they have double petals and are a little ruffled. I have a section of the wild ditch daylily under a tree in my yard and thought they would go nicely if they bloom around the same time. Is there a cut off date for sign ups by any chance? I wanted to try to send something in for each player even though I won't have a match for everyone. I don't want to mail my package too early and miss any late sign-ups. lol, Linda, death row is a gardener's dream! They aren't very good at deadheading the plants, either. I like to 'pardon' the plants that still have seed heads attached to them first so I can try to grow more over the winter! |

| Hey, Alana. If mine is all you have to send in your final pack, let me know and I'll send you a SASBE for it. Thank you! Are you still looking for dwarf mexican petunia? If you are, I have one more packet of seeds for that I will mark for you. :-) Linda - I'd love some Sunset Hyssop! And I'm aiming for a solid wall of Heavenly Blue MGs this year, but I won't say no to the mix - that might be all I get! ;-) Thank you! Terri/rofLoL |

| Suzi, did anyone answer your question about the dogwood? When the red berries fall off, that is where the seeds are. I have been checking periodically and labeling seeds with people's names, so if mine end up being duplicates, cross the name off and give them to some one else! I have not been posting here very much. Also, I have Japanese morning glory 'Keiryu' for kek, michigan alice and momcat and can send a few more packs if anyone else is interested. It should come true since it is the only morning glory I had - I got it as part of a plant trade. Becky |

| Oh WOW, I don't check in for a bit, and look how long this thread has gotten!!! And it looks like I'm actually gonna get some of my wants! This swap is so cool! I just hope I have some other peoples wants, it almost looks like they're all being taken care of! Anyways, why I'm here.... I have harvested some Ornamental grass seeds. I have seeds from Japanese Silver Grass, which doesn't come true to seeds, but I'm sure it'll still produce a nice hardy tall fountain grass. And another grass that looks simular, 8-12ft tall, fountainy, large white plumes, no white stripes, but I know it's perrenial and hardy to at least zone 5. I'll packet some up and send it in if anyone's interested. |
| Hi KEK--I'd love some of that tall grass--so Susie, you could add that to my bag (that's of course unless my bag is totally filled with all my other wants already!!) This is going to be a great swap--thanks to you all-- |

| Terri, I would love to have the Ruellia; please mark it for me. Among the things I am sending in for you is an unopened commercial pack (2006) of Heavenly Blue MG. Maybe that will get you started with them, but it won't be enough if you are planning a massive wall of them. I have a few things for michiganalices's white garden and a couple of other goodies for folks, so no need to do an external trade. I will be sending in another little envelope. There are still a couple of folks out there that I did not have anything for. I am still looking for them, too. Alana |
