| Sign me up! I've got seeds that'll need good homes so they can grow next summer! This swap has become part of my Christmas traditions. I like putting on some Christmas music while packing the seeds into their envelopes and thinking of the smiles I'm putting on the faces of people when they see another card with seeds in their mailbox! And yes, you should see the smile on my face when I receive one...lol! Kym, a big THANK YOU for hosting again this year! |

| I'm already seeing wishes I can fill, but I'm going to wait until at least mid-November before I begin putting seeds into envelopes. It's more fun to send 1 seed packet to 50 people than 50 seed packets to 1 person. But then again, I also like to find someone I can just send tons of seeds to...lol! I'll find a happy medium somewhere! -Dan |

| Hooray! I was just wondering about this swap the other day. Time to start organizing my seeds so I can figure out what I have to share! Maybe my little boy can help me with my cards this year(although I think he may be more interested in eating and ripping the cards- he's that age). Good to see so many familiar faces back again! |

I am SO happy to see everyone again this year..yotetrapper that is one of the nice things about this swap, you send what you CAN ! No pressure here, it is just a nice way to bring some Holiday Spirit into our friends homes and gardens. HO! HO! HO! Santa Kym |

| I don't have a lot of seed to share this year, but I'm going to check and see if I can put together at least a few packets to send. I feel a little bad about the possibility of getting more seed than I send, but I just love this swap so much. I'll see what I can do. |
|

| Just wanted to say that, if the thought of making cards is a bit daunting and keeping you out of this swap, the dollar store is a great place to buy Christmas cards, and they're in stock. I like using the smaller ones because they'll fit into the bubblies and the seeds will be safe in transit. I just bought 3 boxes of 20 each for $3, and am ready to start filling wishes. I've been going through the lists and finding good homes for the seeds I have. HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!! |
|
| Ah, so many lists and so many seeds. I have to get to the $ store to pick up some cards and get started. Otherwise, I am going to be swamped doing up cards at the end of the month. This is such a great swap. You can tell by the number of members signed up that it is a popular one. Thanks for the "FIND" feature advice too. Margo |

| Hi everyone! I'm glad to be joining the seed swap again. Last year was my first year...my user name was Darlyn58. Using that name was not allowing me to post follow ups, though, so I had to create a new account..Rudolph25, lol This swap is so much fun, that I didn't want a little technicality to stop me!! Kym..I will be emailing you with my new information! |
|
| Getting excited! Todays goal is to go through everyones list to see whos wishes I can fill. So far so good! Going to take a lunch break and get back to it. Kym, you want an email with who and how many, right? Randi |

| Susan, Kym will be e-mailing us a list with everyone's information. That way we can all write out our cards, insert the seeds, and mail them all out ourselves. That way she doesn't wind up going to the post office with a few thousand envelopes to mail out. Can you imagine? Lol, she'd look like Mrs. Claus hauling in a bag with that many envelopes! |
|
| Please sign me up, I have enjoyed this swap every year and can really use a little project to cheer me up this Season! Not sure I will have a lot of cards this year, but will be watching for wishes I can fill Will send my info along pronto! Frances |

| Thanks for posting in the Seed Exchange Forum,Kym. I don't know why I haven't ventured into the Round Robin Forum until now, this is where the action is! I just printed out the lists so far and went over everyone's lists with a highlighter. It's neat to see trends in people's lists, and it's given me ideas of new plants to check out. | I'm sooooo happy to be here again!! Sorry my Wish List went way beyond 30,...I was going to edit the tomato list, in particular, but I was also down to the midnight hour by only a very few minutes and so I just kinda panicked-out and posted my list as it was. - Would've signed-on here and posted a lot sooner, but a while back our 4-year-old Presario-700 notebook bit-the-big-one and it wasn't only until very recently we were able to acquire a new machine (thank God for Carbonite). Then,...there've been other things going on, here, that have been energy draining to the point that one of the last things I felt like doing was to go online. For one thing, nearly 3 months ago my wife, Elly, was diagnosed with uterine cancer and, at one point, nearly bled to death due to a non-stop "period". Since then, she's had a total hysterectomy and we were assured "they got it all". Even so, Elly has endured 4 preventive radiation treatments to hopefully insure nothing nasty comes back. I've never been so scared in my entire life! I totally believe, though, that if I hadn't prayed everyday (as I always do), and if not for the prayers of others, things likely could have been a whole lot worse. - Also, Elly's 90 year old father passed away at the end of April, and two of our neighbor friends passed-on as well. - Anyway,...now, Elly and I are definitely looking forward to this year's SSSS (our absolute fave, as always)!! All I gotta do now is pick out who I'll be sending to, then make the cards-n-envelopes and get more stamps,...oh, and coffee, definitely gonna need more coffee! :) |

This recipe is from my grandmother and has been used 100's of times. Perfect to keep in refrigerator and only use when you just want a few rolls nightly or all at one time! I've kept it over a week and used as needed! NEVER FAIL ROLLS 1 cup boiling water These are very good and easy! Great after work to make a few when get home and have hot rolls with evening meals! | Melinda, no fair, your rolls recipe sounds so good Elly & I want some right now!! :) I have a question, though: Might the recipe work as well using butter instead of shortening? Here's a recipe for stuffed celery my dad always used to make for Thanksgiving, taken from Meta Given's Modern Encyclopedia of Cooking (c)1955, Volume 1, page 208. Blend cream cheese with 1/4 to 1/2 as much Roquefort or Blue cheese (Dad always used Blue), season with salt, paprika, lemon juice and Worcestershire. - That's basically it, then just slap it on some celery ribs like you would peanut butter. It was always a hit. I've made it a few times, but I probably won't this year as we have an over-supply of peanut butter. ;) Darrin |

| Darrin, not sure about using butter, but I would think it would work. I was wondering that myself! It works pretty much the same way. I have a big bowl in refrigerator right now that is almost to the top and just made this afternoon. They are good! The celery sticks sound fabulous! Love everything in it. Will definitely have to try them! If you try it with butter, let me know! I may do that next batch! Melinda |

| I just picked up my cards to send along with seeds. Both Target and Wal-Mart have 32 cards for $3. AMAZING deal! |
|
| Yeah, -LOL- I loved that cheesy stuffed celery even when I was a little kiddle, and I was kind of a fussy eater. Used to sneek one or two extra off the serving platter, sometimes, when Mom wasn't looking. She knew, though. :) Oh, and I have another question. In your recipe is it really 2 "Tablespoons" of salt? I mean I realize it's 7 cups of flour, but,...? |
|
| ilovefarac, how many rolls will your recipe make. I'm needing an easy one to make for Thanksgiving. Haven't made yeast rolls since high school home economics class. That wasn't yesterday. |
|
| I just got done mixing up the roll dough. Is it normal for it to be a bit sticky? PS Thanks for posting...I was looking for an easy recipe for rolls & I love trying new ones. |

| Yes, the recipe does call for 2 tablespoons of salt! And yes,it is a little sticky! But it is good! Yes, I am sure I will love the celery sticks! Sounds great! I hope that all has a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know that I am thankful for so many things this year! Esp. surviving my cancer thus far! So glad to wake up every morning! And Darrin, I hope that you and your wife also have a much better year than this past one. To all the others who have so much trial in their lives, just keep the faith! It is all that kept me going for quite a while and continues to do so daily! Once you are down, their is only one way up! Have a great day! Hugs to all and Happy Thanksgiving! Melinda |

| Happy Thanksgiving Kym, Melinda and all...it's almost here, can't you smell the aromas from the kitchens? :) Been preparing food and making side dishes so there is only turkey and baked potatoes to do in the morning, only one oven and got the improvise, dd and sil are coming over, she'll do the clean ups, sure am thankful. Kym... sorry if I seem to be rushing with my suggestions, forgot you'd do it after all signed in but knew it was coming up soon, smile. So sorry to hear of your struggles Melinda....Darrin and all others, glad you are keeping faith and hope that all speeds up improving. NEVER FAIL ROLLS look yummy, wish I could eat them, used to think myself wonder woman, ha...esp have to stay away from sugar. Darrin, celery sticks look good, reminds me to pick my celery, it's truly best ever, got 2 plants at Farmer's market 2 yrs ago and saved seeds, have 2 big ones and few babies now. I think seeds dont need to be covered when planted, same as basil and some other seeds. Getting my lemon and thai basil picked in the morning to stuff in turkey along with lots of garlic. See you all soon....take care and enjoy. HUGS. Bea Happy Thanksgiving. |

| Retsec, I have never made them all at one time. Since it's just me and occasionally another person, I would do a few at a time. I am going to make them all today for tomorrow to take to my sisters. I would say they make at least 3 dozen or more. Wish I had a better answer, but the reason I loved them so much was they stayed for week or so and I took out the amount I wanted. Melinda |

| Oh Kym Your angels are just beautiful,,love them,, good ideas too thanks for sharing Happy Thanks Giving to you all Lisa |
|
| Kym, meant to tell you those are some beautiful angels! Just made double recipe brownies, tasty and moist...next is curry rice then I'm out of the kitchen til morning. HEALTHY BROWNIES All ingredients in approximate amounts: 3 eggwhites ( or all or part whole eggs, I often use 2 eggwhites and 1 egg) In a small bowl, mix flour, baking powder and cocoa. ( Good alone or topped with cream cheese and cool whip lite blend, for one suggestion.) Variation: Blend Peanut Butter ( I like crunchy) with part of the batter and transfer into one side of pan before baking...or spoon into batter in pan and swirl. |

| A fun candy to have ingredients on hand & pull out when you have a group of people hanging out together. When my kids were younger their friends loved to make this & take some home to their family. Of course, eating mistakes is part of the fun! Christmas Pretzel Reindeer Recipe You will need: Pretzels (2 inch size work better than the ones that are dollar coin size.) To make a reindeer: Let it set up & store in an airtight container. I couldn't find a photo of it this morning, but found one on someone's blog. The angle of the antlers make each one slightly different. |
