tormato

As return host, this tomato seed swap is now open.

Deadline for joining, and my receiving your seeds is November 30th.

It'll likely take me all of December to mail everything back.

I'll post guidelines in a day or two. To contact me for my mailing address, email me. (emails routed through Gardenweb sometimes don't go through)

Gary

I would love to try some of those seeds as well. Some Naranjilla would be wonderful. If that's not available, then either some Cumin or Candela Di Fuoco Radish seeds would be great instead. Can't wait to get my envie from this swap. It'll be like Christmas. : )

My package arrived yesterday, and I am delighted with the varieties you sent, Gary! Even one I thought I would never find! It's time to start tomatoes for transplanting to the garden in March, and it's going to be a challenge to decide which new tomatoes to try first. Thank you so much!

If you're not aware, this computer was melting down several times trying to type long lists of seeds. I almost gave up with the non-tomato seeds. So, a few packages went out before receiving your non-tomato requests. If you'd still like them (depending on if they are available ) you can let me know if I should send a second package.

Tomato seeds (~10,000 total packs) should be finished tonight. Then it's the non-tomatoes, and the sending of many packages out, hopefully all next week. I just hope your screen name can be found with your wish lists so I know who you are who are requesting non-tomato seeds.

Happy new year everyone. . .
    Gary,
10,000 packets of seeds, oh my, I can't even imagine seeds in that quantity. Thank you for hosting this swap.

If you have not mailed my envelope yet, I would love to take some Litchi tomato and ground cherry (strawberry type) off your hands.

    Thank you

    Mal,

I received your email, but I'm blocked from replying to it. Please email again, but don't route it through Gardenweb.

Please send me a mailing address, and a list of about 10 tomato varieties that you may be looking for. Or, let me know what types of tomatoes you may like (colors/shapes/sizes).

At this point everything is going back out . So, there's no need for you to send me anything.

To those who requested the Harco (pit)...it needs a minimum of 90 days in the fridge (at 33 to 40 degrees). Kept moist but not soggy, it needs the moisture and air. A web search of the words "peach stratification" would get info with more detail.

5 or 6 packages to go.

My seeds arrived today, and I'm super excited! Not only did I receive a multitude of interesting tomato seeds but lots of nice bonus seeds too. It was just so fun opening the package and shaking out all the packs of seeds on a gloomy, winter day. The selection is incredible, and it will be difficult to choose which ones to plant this year. Thank you very much to all who contributed and to Gary for his dedication and organizational skills in making this trade happen.

I've had a great time researching all my new tomato varieties. I received 4 packs that I would like information about if anyone can help me.
One is, I think, a cross between Brandywine Sudduth and another variety. The tags say Blue Suede-uth Shoes, which may be the name of the new cross, and Brandywine Sudduth.
Another pack says Warren Bees (or Dees), experimental giant. I am wondering about the color and possible size.
Also, I have Dragoeva (or Draboeva, Draoova?). I have Googled various spellings and can't find anything.
The 4th pack is Mhsiao (or Mhslao) Mis Mung Shin. I could find no info online about this one either.
If the contributors of these very interesting 'mystery' seeds, or anyone else, can share details about them, I would love to know more.

I want to pay it forward....How many total participants so I can have an idea of how many packets to prep for the next swap. I also have 3 plants of your Blue Suede-uth Shoes F2's growing. Do you have a thread to report findings? Thanks to you, I'm having an overwhelmingly FUN spring ;)

This sounds like lots of fun and I want to join. but it makes more sense to me to make groups of eleven and send everyone back 10 packs of seeds the same as they sent out.

this way every person gets 10 new packs instead of 9 new ones. 11 in each group works better. 11 people send in 10 packs for total of 110 packs. then you send back 10 packs to each of 11 people because you have 110 packs.

the 10 and 9 does not work correctly. the 11 and 10 works correctly.

the way it is now 10 people send in 10 seeds for 100 packs and you send back 9 packs to 10 people for 90 packs. 10 packs go dead on arrival and are wasted.

the math does not work with groups of 10. the math works correctly with 11 in each group where everyone sends in 10 packs. with your method we should only send in 9 packs.

I am an applied mathematician. I have this correct.

I hope to see this rule changed for 2014. to eleven in each group.
