Hello ALL!!!!

We did this a few years ago and it was great! micyrey/Michelle was the host. I'm going to copy a good bit from that!!

Here's the scoop!!
Each player sends me
~ A stocking - at least 12" long I want to be able to
stuff them, you can make them or buy them
(make it one you would be happy to receive!)

~ seeds to swap ~ you will get back the same amount
(or more) that you send, no more than
2 packs of each on mixed seeds(unknown
variety, ie zinnias mix) and 3 on
named cultivars(zinnias:canary yellow)
It's helpful if you GW name & year is on the seed packet

~small gifts ~to be sorted among the players stockings,
try to stay away from the very fragile it
takes up alot of room in someones stocking
to use bubble wrap. Also remeber jar
candles are very heavy, but votives are
nice. Hand made/store bought ornaments, pens, note pads, small calenders,seed baggies,plant markers,CANDY....you get the idea!!
Just try to keep everything a size that
will fit in a stocking. Don't feel you need to
stuff a huge box just, some(SMALL) nice gifts to
share.

Please DO NOT send any plants!! Bulbs for indoor winter blooming would be GREAT ie.. paper whites or amaryllis.

~Please send no less than 6$, (cash or stamps)to have your stocking sent back to you. If you want delivery confirmation please let me know and send extra $ for it! There are no plants in the box so we don't need to use priority,that should save some! YAY!!

~ I would like all boxes in by Nov 21!I will sort and pack all stockings and have back in the mail the week of the 23rd.They should arrive at YOUR home the 1st week of Dec.

About the small gifts,no you do not have to send in an item for each person playing(unless you find a really good sale! LOL!).Just send a stocking stuffed with goodies & seeds(and return postage!). You can send in several of the same items if you want.I'll be sorting what is sent in,then restuffing the stockings before I pack them up.

Bunny~ the last movie I saw out was Ghosts Girlfriends of Past. It's really pricey to go to the movies. Plus no family around to baby sit & I don't like to leave the kids with strangers.I'm so wanting to go see New Moon later this month though.Yes, I AM one of those Twilight freaks!!!I might just go solo. I think the last movie we saw in the theater was The Passion of Christ. It's been a while ago.

It's a blustery gray and drizzly day here :o/ and have to go do shopping cause they're expecting a thunder storm and more storms tomorrow and Saturday. Gotta pick up hot cocoa for the little one lol. The waves are kickin up again, I'm really glad I didn't have lunch before we left hehe.

I did want to let everyone know that my box cost over $9 to mail- PARCEL POST. And while mine was a bit on the heavy side, I just wanted to make sure that everyone included extra $$ for mailing the stockings back to you. $6 may not be enough.
I surely don't want April to be out any money for postage!!

I finnished my stocking(started it last month but never finnished it becouse I found out I would not be able to host it this year..yay for april)I'm just waiting for a few more things to add to the box and I will ship early next week.

I had one question for everyone, do we have any crafters or quilters in the swap? I may add some more gifts to my box if we do.

A flat rate box is a great idea...I nearly sent my stuff that way, but just wasn't sure if I'd be the only one doing that...so I decided against it. Lesson learned! :P

So in that case, quick question, April - if we print on line, it's less than if you send in a flat rate from the PO and DC's are free online where they are not if you take them to the PO. So do we include the amount for return postage, from the PO or online? I have plenty of large shipping lables (like 15,000 lol no joke!) if you need some lol I'd be happy to include a batch in my box for you ;) after all, it is flat rate and I can ship up to 70 lbs in it lol.

I craft and quilt. Does anyone scrapbook? LOL I don't know what I have more of, scrapbook paper or material!

When printing online postage, I think you have to be careful of the date - I seem to remember you have to put in the mailing date. If we send an online printed label for April (it would save her a lot of time waiting in line at the PO), what date would we need to put on it. The PO used to be very picky about the mailing dates on packages, and since these are supposed to be scanned, we don't want anything getting sent back or held or what ever. Dan, since you're a carrier, can you elaborate?

Would love to see some quilt pics from all of you who quilt. MIL made us an amazing quilt for Christmas a few years ago and it's so gorgeous! Then made one for our son's bed. It's quilted whales. It's so cute! I just love seeing all the different designs and color combinations. And all those hours put into each piece...WOW!!!

Oh, my box is going out tomorrow, dc#4203 0533 9405 5036 9930 0036 0811 71. I got it all taped up, and wouldn't you know it, while cleaning up I found my pre-printed return label. So, open the box, insert label, and tape up the end of it again!
