I was on cloud 9 last night when I saw these! =) 'Suppose' to be a beautiful day here today....almost 70! sometimes (most of the time) when I get outside...I look around and wonder where to start first, then I wonder over to something...hours go by and then when I come back inside I think to myself gosh! I didnt even get done what I went outside for! LOL love being distracted by things in the garden =)

Jayeanne, how exciting. I'm going to make sure I plant my seeds next spring. Didn't get the chance this year.

Had to post one more NICE picture. This is my grandson Brayden and he turned a year old two weeks ago. Now how did that happen?

Oh Margo! Isnt he just precious! wow... a year old already! Seems like just yesterday you were excited for his arrival =) Time sure has a way of 'getting away'....

Margo if this sets seeds, I would be more than happy to send some your way =) This is a photo of some 'toad lily seeds' I winter sowed in the milk jug method this past winter...they are still small but the wintersowing worked! look how many babies are here! Nothing bloomed yet on these ones....Maybe I should have thinned them out. I also just noticed some may be setting flowers! Just throw your seeds in a milk jug and winter sow Margo - it worked great for me! =)

    Happy Tuesday!!!

First of all, I have made three adjustments to GAME 1, "WHO WILL WIN THE 2014 WORLD SERIES"

I feel it only fair to remove Sue G and lavenderpyly from the World Series game. They signed up to swap and we really never heard from them. I had to contact them both after the send out deadline to see if they were still even swapping. I had stated in the rules that if you were going to be late to please post here. They did not do that. I have replaced their three spots below with Suzanne (hibiscusfan), Promise and Mary E.. ..Promise and Mary E had been previously eliminated, so they are back in the game. Hibiscusfan, now has two spots below....the German fetched her name.

    GAME 1 UPDATE
"WHO WILL WIN THE 2014 WORLD SERIES"

Game 6 San Francisco vs Kansas City Royals is tonight. Will San Francisco take the prize?? Remember, San Francisco leads the series 3-2. The first team that wins 4 games is the World Series Champion. So if, Kansas City wins tonight, we will move on to the final game tomorrow night. Which OBFER will take the prize?? Time will tell...............

Margo, I still can not get over the fact that young man Brayden is one year young. I love his name!!

Shirley, how was "Gone Girl"? It is on my list to see. It is supposed to be very good!

Skyblue (Susan), yes, baseball can be a very, very slowwwwww game. Flipping the channel is understandable...LOL! I certainly do it...LOL! The nice thing is that you really don't have to watch the game(s) to win. But a winner is soon to be!!

Enjoy your day!! You guys have been super fun to play with this month. So glad you enjoyed "Just Be Nice".

Jayeanne, winter sowing has never come easy to me. Now that we are out in the country with no windbreaks, it seems the wind can come from any direction and there is no safe place for them. If they do set seeds, I would be happy to send postage or do a trade. Just keep me updated and thanks.

I agree with everyone Annie, you have made this a very NICE swap and I had a lot of fun. Thank you so much.

Finally booked a caterer for my daughters wedding. It was a tough go there for a bit. They were either to costly or all ready booked. Unfortunately, this one doesn't have the linens or bartenders so will have to take care of those things ourselves. Now to get the bakery booked for the cake. Once that is done, the big stuff is all accomplished.

Another beautiful day here. Had to put up the Christmas trees at work today. The ornaments we chose are very pretty so it all looks very nice but much to early as far as I am concerned.

    Go Kansas City. Margo

Melinda - yes! this past winter I really went 'all out' winter sowing and what a tremendous feeling of joy that brings! love it!

Margo - yes! I would love to share the toad lilys with you rather the seeds/babies whatever. Im not so sure the toad lilys will make seed in time - I see snow on my weather map for Sunday - yep! If nothing else I would be happy to send you some babies I winter sowed - unsure of their colors so that will be a surprise to you and I both =)

Annie!! I cant express my gratitude enough of letting you know just how UHH MAZING your 'Just be NICE' swap went. You are one incredible woman and you did one incredible swap! Some days you had me on the edge of my seat, LOL - that is rare as I am constantly on the go! hahaha I really enjoyed everything!

Today is suppose to be around 73 - and then a few days later SNOW.... crazy crazy crazy....

Sharing another 'first time bloomers' very excited to see this one this morning... ....you ladies all thought I probably only had 'pink' flowers hugh? LOL! Enjoy your day!

Jayeanne that poppy is gorgeous!! I love it also!
This has been a great swap! And love all the sharing and pics from everyone!

Dawn, I sent you an email yesterday. Did you receive your prize (West Elm)? Let me know when you get a chance. Thanks! No tracking on you because you are a PO box.

Margo, what a relief to have the caterer! Weddings are alot of work and planning but what a joy it is when it finally happens. And then the day after, you can kick back and reflect and think about how broke you are...and smile!! LOL! It was all worth it!

    GAME 1
"WHO WILL WIN THE 2014 WORLD SERIES"

OK OBFER contenders, last night in game 6, the Kansas City Royals wiped out the San Francisco Giants. It is nitty gritty time....tonight is game 7, hence we will have a 2014 World Series Champion, hence one of you below will be a winner. Remember, to win, YOUR TEAM MUST WIN and your number is the FINAL SCORE TOTAL.
EX If San Francisco wins with a final score of 7-0 or 6-1 or 5-2 or 4-3, Suzanne (hibiscusfan) WINS because she has San Francisco and her name is next to the number 7.

You girls have had to wait a long time for this...but...it is almost over....LOL! GOOD LUCK!!

You ladies all make these swaps possible, you make them fun and you put up with my corniness. Thanks!

It should be mid 80's today. Weather is absoloutley gorgeous. Yesterday, I planted in the ground, about 200 super sugar snap seeds, about 100 bush Oregon sugar snaps and lots of Fava beans. I need to get to work on all my lettuce. Now I just need some cool weather...not snow...just cool weather!! I do not allow my husband to plant anything as he has no idea what he is doing. I do allow him to put up trellises, so last week he got those up.

And two Q's while I am thinking of them.

    1) We had a squirell invasion this Summer. We have never had a big problem with them. I know they are hard to beat. Have any of you beat them?? If so, with what?

    1. I have been on a quest to make true, authentic, Southern UNHEALTHY FRIED CHICKEN. I do not care for chicken much but I am determined to get fried chicken perfect. Who can help me out here? Jeanne, Shirley, Melinda or one of you in the North. Email me with your "perfection" please if you are willing to share!

    Happy Wednesday....

Annie... you grow fava beans? Do you grow them every year? I have one plant in a pot the I'm growing for the first time.

Let me see if I can get a good Southern Fried Chicken recipe. Letting the chicken pieces marinate, in buttermilk, overnight is one of the key steps.

Congratulations Shirley! I love baseball. You know how some people sign up on football boards? I will be in big trouble if anyone here figures out how to make a baseball board. Hey! I wonder if that would work some how with seeds in place of the dollars? Then I wouldn't have to go to the bad place for "gambling".

    I emailed everyone yesterday who has won recent prize(s)....Shirley x 2 prizes, NonnaG x 1 prize, Bluee19 x 1 prize, Melinda x 1 prize and Erica x 2 prize. If I left someone out, please speak up...LOL!

Sue G. emailed me this morning. She received her package from lavender and will post about her package today. She is sending her package to lavender today.

We are getting near the end of JUST BE NICE. As always, it has been a pleasure swapping with you OBFERS!

Sheri, thanks so much for the fried chicken recipe (Food Network). I have not tried that one yet but will put it to the test this weekend. Cayenne pepper, love the stuff!

NonnaG, chuckle...chuckle about the baseball board. I actually tried to do a grid of sorts for the WORLD SERIES game but it would not work here. And If GW thought we were doing the g word (g a m b l i n g), they probably would remove it and slap me on the hand...LOL! SEEDS instead of $$, now that is a thought and most likely legal. NonnaG, do you have Indian Casinos in your area??? Or do you head for Vegas?

I ve been looking around and wondering about this 'rate and review' thread.... I guess I didn't realize that was there and my apology's for never posting a 'rate and review' for ya all! I want to thank the ones who left me such sweet comments under my name, wow!(Just read them today!) this is a great way to see how things are going with some of our members trades/round robins! What is with the sorry boxes that I am reading about? and about rate and review on receiving broken boxes?
Im surprised I haven't read on any of your posts where any of you talk about the rate and review? I am going to go through my past 6 month trades here with the group swaps and start posting some rate and reviews for ya all....Is anyone else using 'rate and review' or reading the comments?

Jayeanne -- I check that thread quite often if I'm going to do any kind of largish seed trade with someone I haven't traded with before. It was actually a life-saver once. Someone wanted over 100 packs of seeds from me and I checked their review. Needless to say that they had a bad review, and when I contacted the reviewer I found out that I definitely did NOT want to proceed with the trade. I think people probably check it more often than you think.

Oh Jayeanne, I have been so BAD about posting on RATE AND REVIEW. And I have been BAD about reading on RATE AND REVIEW. I am so glad you brought it up....a great reminder. RATE AND REVIEW is a great way to see how PRIVATE SEED SWAPS, ROUND ROBIN SWAPS, PLANT EXCHANGES etc...among GW members are working out, positive or negative. Like Shirley says, it is a good way to learn about traders/swappers.

In regards to The SORRY BOX, some people call it a REPLACEMENT BOX. That means if someone sends in an exhange/swap something that is broken, they are supposed to replace it. Accidents do happen, seeds get smashed, breakables get broken. It has happened to me on both ends. I sent something that was well packed but broken when they received it, so I replaced it. I have also sent seeds, packed well and in a little vial but they got smashed, so I replaced it. I have also received broken whatevers and smashed seeds and the sender(s) replaced.
Now, if someone did not replace within an appropriate amount of time, the receiver could post a negative on rate and review, somewhat like posting a negative if someone does not follow through with their seed/swap exchange by sending. And if my memory is correct, which I think it is, if someone did not send their sorry/relacement item(s), they could not swap in another Round Robin until they followed through. People usually just do it so there is not a problem. I have to look in some of my older files and see if I can find anything on this. Does anybody have info on any of this?

Jayeanne, I hope that makes sense. We have not talked about this stuff in a long time. Do any of the GWERS/swappers remember any of this? Since this Just Be Nice is just about over, I am going to copy this over to the November swap.

Sue G, thanks for posting. Once lavender receives your box
    package, this is a wrap!

Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween!

Thank you so much, Annie! Love my cup! My sister had bought be one almost like it, and it broke, so I am thrilled to have another. I drink hot tea almost all the time and it will be very useful! Thanks again, Melinda
