| I'm new to this so I'm not sure what to do. Wish list would go something like this; Tomatoes that don't mind a healthy shot of COLD several times while they are growing and setting fruit. I hope this works, Santa hasn't seen fit to bother with me in over 40 years, LOL. Thank you for letting me wish, |

| Everytime I log onto my computer someone tells me I am number "gazillion" or something and wants me to click and claim my prize. Now I really am the right number. That is too funny. I hope someone wasn't trying to holdout to be 100 because I hit it totally by accident. I followed a link from Square Foot Gardening and decided that I could fulfill a few wishes and maybe get some "good stuff" myself. My yard really needs help so I am anxious, and now I get a double surprise. I have only gotton seeds one other time and they came all mixed in one envelope with about 20 flower names written on the outside. I thought when spring arrived I would just plant them all in a flat and see what I got. LOL Since I think some are perreniel (sp?), I may not find out for two years. LOL I live in zone 7 in the NE corner of Oklahoma, but my climate is much different than most of Oklahoma. We still get the heat, but we have had over 60 inches of rainfall so far this year. I would say that we are more like Ozark gardening than we are Oklahoma gardening in many ways. I was reading the square foot gardening forum because I have been thinking about converting to mostly a raised bed vegetable garden because of all of the spring rainfall that makes it hard to get into the garden. In addition, I have steel rods in my back so I don't bend at the waist so bringing it up a little higher will help. I mostly work on my knees but as I get older that gets a little harder. Getting old ain't for sissies. This year I did a lot of containers and I liked that also, but in the middle of summer, I had to water any day that we didn't have rain. Thanks so much for doing this, and I was excited about the seeds before..........now I am excited to be the winner of the prize. Thanks again. Carol |
|
| What a great idea! When I first saw this I thought, the only thing I really want this year is Rudbeckia Cherry Brandy. But THEN, I started actually plotting out my 60' by 20' Red Bed, and realized I have a long way to go. So here is my list, Santa. Thanks for keeping me in mind. I'll take good care of your elves! Rudbeckia Cherry Brandy- even a single seed would excite me! |

| I was just wondering if there was a way to find out who had things coming to them posted that way we can see if we could cover the ones who only had like 1 or 2 planning on sending them that way we don't blast someone with say 20-30 packs of the seeds while someone else only got 1-2. I am not asking for who is sending to who or what just those that barely had anyone sending them to. I hope I made sense. Thanks Paula |

| Cathy - Kym has encouraged everyone to list their "Wish List" anyway. I am just now becoming a seed saver so I don't have a lot to share, but I did find that could fill a wish for four people, so I have those ready to go. In some cases I am sending very few seeds, but some were seeds I bought this year and didn't get to try, so I am just sharing the package. There are lots of veggies that I would be happy to get one or two seeds for so I could plant them, try them, and save myself enough seeds for the following year. I didn't think about veggies when I was making my list but I should have added Longhorn Okra because I would be happy with any amount so I could try it. I really got lucky because I was number 100 to sign up. It makes me feel a little guilty because I am the "big" winner and I don't have a lot to share. I am a pretty good veggie gardener, but I am flower challenged. I hope I will do better with them this year. |

| This swap is for ANYONE to post a WISH LIST...so Cathy..come up with 20 type of seeds you would like..and post before the 24th !! This is all about sharing, and enjoying the spirit of the holidays...Newbies are more then welcome to post a wish list... and...if you feel "quilty", which you shouldnt...we all started out with nothing...you could pick someone to just send a nice card to. This swap isnt about what we "get", it is about sharing in the "spirit" of the holidays !! and making friends, and sharing some holiday CHEER !!!! |

| Oh no! When I said it sounded like a privilege to receive one of Jordan's cards did I say it wrong? I meant it would be an honor to have her artwork arrive! I didn't mean to sound like I wouldn't love something like that and if it did I am extremely sorry! Jordan is one of us, just in a smaller body, and adored by many here, including myself! Again Kim (plantoneonme) if I offended you I am sorry,it was not my intention. |

| Kids do say the craziest things, don't they. I went to grade school in a small town in southern Oklahoma. Chuck Norris's grandparents lived there, and for a very short time, his parents also lived there. The town wanted to capitalize on the fact that it was once "the hometown of Chuck Norris" so they tried to start a museum. It was a poor excuse, but I didn't know that at the time, so I took my youngest son to see it. We were looking at a yearbook and this lady starting talking about when he went to school there. I told her that I had gone to school at the same time. She said, "Honey, I don't think so. He's a lot older than you." Well..............I explained he was a little older but we were there at the same time and only a couple of years apart. She said, "You sure don't look that old." As we left, I am smiling from ear to ear, because I was thinking "old Chuck" looked pretty good to me, and she thought I was younger. WOW My son said, "Mom, you know what she said about you not looking as old as Chuck Norris". Still laughing a little, I said, "Yes". He said, "You really do". |

| Hi, I see alot of newbies joining in...I only ask that you take the time to make a want list on your trade page..that will show others that you are serious about being involved here on the site. Also, please email me your mailing addresses...and if you plan on sending a card to someone, please let me know. Kym |
|
| Wow Kym! This is AMAZING! And you are doing an AMAZING job at it! It is so nice to see the newbies and the lurkers joining in, what a fun way to get them started! It would be nice to know the most amount of seeds sent in a RR and see if we can break the record! I'm going to start getting some envies ready! I haven't even started yet YIKES! Vic |
|
| It really is amazing how big this is. I, too, would like to know if we're hitting records of members participating and seeds sent. WoW! And, DOUBLE WoW on how many cards/envies are being sent so far! I am sure by the time more of us have a chance to get everything packaged and then to tell you, it's really gonna rock! I don't want to run out of something for someone I promised to send to, so I'm not reporting until I have it ready to go out that I'm sending to that person. I, too, may not send normal quantities of each item because of the number of requests of the items I have, so I'm trying to spread around the holiday spirit as much as possible. I know I will enjoy getting some of anything on my list and figured others would as well. Kym, you are doing a fantastic job. This is becoming more and more fun every day. It's going to be totally awesome when December is here and people start reporting with holiday joy that they received cards and such in the mail. What fun!!! Thanks for your hard work on this. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Blessings, |

| mpmom, that is not such a dumb question. I signed all of my cards, along with my non-gardening ones, without thinking about it. I sure hope that's okay-it could get pretty ugly if I have to open 'em all up and mark it out. Sheesh. Kym, I am working on a final update and will send it out a bit later. Alana |

| I just started in Hydroponic indoor gardening in a small apartment located in South Central Wisconsin (zone 4-5). I am really wanting to try to grow: Nicotiana Rustica (Sacred Tobacco) Thanks! What a wonderful opportunity to connect with other gardeners! :)
|
|
| Oh I hope we can put our names on them! I really enjoy knowing who I got from, and when the flowers bloom it is a nice reminder of that person! : ) I have also put my name on all the seeds I am sending, so if it doesn't grow you know who to blame! LOL Vic |
|
| I'm signing mine too, and I hope anyone who might send to me will sign. I want to know who to thank, and of, course to make a new garden buddy. |

Kathy, Ill get you an update ...actually Ill wait till sign ups are over...and only have to post one list...OK ? ( that is tomorrow) I am getting an average of 40++ emails a day..and trying to keep up on the info rolling in. Ok, this swap has literally brought me to tears...I have people sending me a "SECOND" list of who they are sending to...The generosity of you all is overwhelming ( as well as making my hands sore..LOL) Most of you dont know that my husband took our Christmas money out of the bank last week, and lost his wallet five minutes later..I was soo upset...BUT after seeing all of the giving here, and the "true" spirit of the Holidays..you ALL have made this the best Christmas for me. I thank each of you for giving so much...and YES, even one pack of seeds is generous in my book. If you havent emailed me your mailing address, please DO as soon as possible...thanks ! WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST CHRISTMAS EVER !! Mine already has been, and it isnt even here... ( If you email me, please put your GW name..so I dont get lost...and Ill respond as soon as I can) |

| OPPPS ! I forgot to put... YES, PLEASE PUT YOUR NAMES ON THE CARDS !!!!!!!!!!!! It is just suppose to be a "SECRET" till it gets to the doors...this way we can thank the people that sent, or know who to ask if we dont know how to grow those special seeds. Also, use a return address just so there isnt a problem with them getting mailed...I didnt put my name, just an address..but do what you want..maybe even put "santa"..LOL when we start to receive the cards...please post, and let us know what you recd...Lets keep the fun going !! and also we can let each other know we appreciate what the other one has done for us. |

For me would you believe I don't have any plain ole purple coneflowers? so my list is: Question??? is there a way to search these 2 threads by the type of seeds I have? To make it easier than going trough all the list and finding someone that matches my seeds? I hope that makes sense. Mary |

| Hi! I know that i already have a list of twenty but i just want to add one more: 21: Carnivorous Plants I recently got involved in them and want to expand my collection any carnivoures are welcome. Kamil |
|
| Mary, if you have something specific to search like "cosmos" or "morning glory" type those words into your search function. This is usually CTRL-F (both keys hit at the same time). Then just keep clicking "find next" and it shold take you to every instance where that word(s) occurs on the page. You can write down the person's GW name and continue on. This might be a quick way to search for the people who have a few specific types. Hope that helps. Sue |

| This is gonna be fun! I'm glad to see everyone having fun in this! I hope grovespirit gets better. Yesterday morning, Nov 24th after 2am I leaned down to pick something up beside PC and got sharp pain in head..which I had this slight pain before for few day. I got up and fell in the living room. Heart was racing. Ambulance called. Went in for blood & urine test, CT, EKG.. thankfully nothing was found to be wrong, but the problem persist. 18 hrs later heart thrust twice and raced for over a min. Now it's been over another 18 hrs. I feel better but headache in that spot still there a bit. I'm suppose to get more tests done. I think the strong pain is only the hearts reaction to it! I hope that anyone that is ill in any way gets better soon. It sucks to have any kind of illness any kind of complications whatsoever. Lets hope everyone stays safe and healthy this year and the years to come. Happy Holidays everyone, be well! -David |
