HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEB! Sorry I missed the date, but I do hope it was a good one.

    Mellen,
Lol! Maryanne has seen my jugs, both kinds, lol!!

    Maryanne,
I would include all the parents, but it could get too jumbled looking, so now I'm not sure? I'm sure your mom will love it whatever you decide.
Pandoro, like everyone knows what that is, lol! I'm mad that I never got my grandma's recipe for fraguni. It is an Easter bread with riccotta cheese filling sort of calzone like but not. It is only from the small area of Calabria that my family is from and the few reference to in on the web are in Italian.
Anyway, the bar is being bought by a person from NY City, so who knows what the place will become. The local news will be doing a piece on the closing. I'm sure it is going to be quite a party.

    Theresa,
You got me all excited for spring!

    Klickitat,
I was ready to yell, "Yea!!!" for you and then I see you're doing work for next semester, Yuk!

    Laura,
My brug cutting is doing well, so using a table top fountain as a proagation bubbler works!
Lol! Those stories are too funny! One of my best friends is the nurse in charge of the local emergency hospital ICU overnights. She tells some good stories! You two would have a great time swapping stories. The best one I remember is the kid, like 17 or so, who burned his actual a**hole(I know there has to be a proper term for it that is eluding my mind right now, lol) lighting a fart on fire! No it is not an myth, you really can light a fart and you can do some serious damage!

    Talk to you all later,
    Remy

Resident Lush here - heh (NOT!) LoL

    Nope, no Martini yet.

You gals and your stories! LMBO!!!
I have to tell on my dear sweet and dorky husband. Just the other night, he lit a fart on fire. He had the kids laughing and rolling on the floor. Fortunately, he had jeans on. James (my middle child) just wouldn't believe that you could really do that.
Way back when I was about 6, my half brother (one I no longer claim!) lit a fart on fire and burned his little tuckus. Duh! No underwear, cut of jeans up to his cheeks wiht the fringe from washing them hanging down. He deserved it, LoL (still does!)

We went to do some more Christmas shopping today. I will be sooooooooooooo happy when we are finished. Still haven't wrapped a thing.
I, too, haven't even sit down to do my cards yet. I told Rick I will mass e-mail cards this year if all else fails.

Carol - congrats on the new baby! Mixed feelings I'm sure, but what's not to enjoy about a new life! :-)
Everything happens for a reason I always say. Right?

Mellen - You just didn't realize what kind of craziness you got yourself into did ya! Ha! Jugs and booze...... whats next?
It's all fun and games 'til someone gets an eye poked out, hahahahaha

Maryanne - your hostess gift will probably arrive late. Please forgive me?

Remy - thank you for the recipe! Just reading you and Maryannes posts makes me hungry.

I picked up some new cookie sheets tonight and the silicone baking sheets. I've never used these sheets before. Does anyone use them? Do they really keep the bottom of your cookies form browning too much?

I looked all over for a new cookie press....no luck.
I have one that is probably antique. Maybe I should have looked at Hobby Lobby or some place like that....?

Well, I STILL have yet to cook supper, so I better scoot and get something fixed.

    Be good - :-)

what is this group coming to? burning butts and flags at full staff. oh laura, i just died reading your post and then remy - i think the word you were looking for is anus. an-us a funny group now LOL!! almost makes me wish i had gas N O T!!!!!!

tina, have you checked your confirmation to see if your package arrived yet? we don't hear much from patty, so it would be a good idea to check the status.

patty, if you are out there, please post your confirmation number for the package you sent and kindly acknowledge receipt. this is an absolute requirement of this group.

well, i received quite a few hostess gifts today. when the mailman came today, his comment to me was "you hit the jackpot". boy, did i.

i received a wonderful book from susan (giverny4me). it is called holiday theme parties and it gives entertaining ideas, decorations and recipes. it makes for a wonderful read and i have already seen some things that i will put to use. later on, when i'm sitting and relaxing with my tea, i'm going to savor this book. thank you ever so much, susan, what an absolute welcome to my library! i love your card. reminds me of the cards my sister would send when she lived in florida - santa always on the beach. for the longest time, my son had such illusions. thanks for that memory as well :)

i also received a box from janell, which included her candles -- a holiday assortment. wow, these smell incredible. out of the four, i'm not sure which i like best, but i am burning cinammon while i type. i had one of your candles from a craft box that went around earlier in the year, and they burn just right all the time and always smell so good. i so appreciate you sending these to me. i also thank you for the slipper socks and the ultra large almond/toffee candy bar.

mellen, mellen, mellen, you funny lady. i received a can of whipped cream and the cap said "have some fun". LOL i received as well a jar of sweetart spoon fudge and an audobon bird call (most excellent - i love this and will put it to the test. and mellen, i just adore the ornament.. this is a dog, holding a bone and mellen personalized it with the dogs' names, my name the date and hers. i put it on the tree immediately. i just love it! thank you.

carol, what can i say. i lost it opening your box. there are two depends, decorated - one in butterflies, the other in flowers. as if that wasn't enough, there are bows on either side where you would close them. should have been wearing one when i came in and read this thread - between laura's story and remy's, i sure needed it!!! thank you also for the pouch and coal! (i've been good, i promise); also for the angel necklace and earrings; the bath set and the funky 3d puzzle - i've never seen anything like that. and carol, i just love the friendship ornament, it means the world to me, i don't think i'll pack it up when its time to put decorations away, this is a keeper-outer, i just love it. (it's a wrapped present with a note ont he front that says: friendship is a special gift - then when you open the lid it says and you can open it every day). i love it, i love you! your card means so much to me and i feel the same :)

i can't believe all the wonderful goodies i have received from all of you. all these kind gestures really warm my heart and i cannot thank you enough.

janell, it's been a while since i started typing and i have to say, this cinammon candle really has a wonderful aroma!

anita and kimberly, thanks for the head's-up, i'll certainly let you know as soon as they arrive.

dizz, your confirmation numbers are 03041560000746331571 and 1557. i certainly hope you enjoy the things i chose for you.

be well, have a great night

    remy, i'm still laughing.

tina, i'm just now seeing your post. sorry, wasn't ignoring you. i don't care for those silpats. i think they make the cookies tast plastic or rubbery. i'm not a fan. i'm parchment paper girl myself. and i use that paper and even flip it until i'm done baking for the day/night. too funny about your brother.

Tina, I can't WAIT to see Rick! LOLOLOL

Speaking of anus, it is always sooo fun teaching the unit about the planets. How do you pronounce Uranus? And yes, the kids get it. Hard to keep a straight face!

Don't know what pictures anyone is talking about? Did you mean Susan or Sue instead of Susann? Dizzy or Dizz for me (as Earthly says) is probably easiest with all us Sus gals around.

TWO boxes Earthly?? WOW! Santa must not have talked to you!! LOL! I'll be sure & post when ITs arrive.
I envisioned you opening this box with used depends and a big green pickle.... is that what you call a "stink pickle"?
Y'all are so funny! I've got tears dribbling over all these stories and none-such!

All this talk about anus(es), Ur-anus & lighting farts brought this story to mind .... my DH gave comment #4 at the end. LOL!

Thanks for all the Birthday wishes!
I've had a non stop Birthday weekend.. On Friday we had a steak dinner (My Husband wanted one day alone with me before the weekend started), Saturday my Sister had us over for pizza, Sunday my MIL had us over for Chicken. I went to the Olive garden today with some friends for lunch, and went out for pizza with more friends tonight. I'm tired of my B-day! LOL! I'm glad it's over!

    Going to bed early!

Debbya... glad to hear you had a good birthday.

    Michelle,
So sorry to hear about your uncle.

    Deb,
It sounded like you had quite an extended birthday weekend!

    Susie,
It sounds like you may be dointg too much! You better be behaving yourself! : )

    All you lushes,
I had a friend email me this Christmas game:

    Follow these instructions:
Click on the link and use your KEYBOARD ARROW keys(not your mouse) to get Santa drunk.

Don't touch the train track! Not good for Santa! The longer you can keep Santa off the tracks, the more he does(though it is funny when he hits the tracks!)

    Link below.

    Talk to you all later,

we are moving right along. i hope maybe some other boxes get to their intended recipients this week. even if one or two gets there after christmas, it's not the end of the world because it will still be december. it's always good to close out one swap before we start the next month's - not so much the sign up, but the assignment of partners, etc.

jules, explain your screen name, if you don't mind.

patty, sounds like a nice box. so you collect roosters as well? that's three that i know of in this group. just found out debby does and i've always know tina did.

dizz, that was too funny. your hub has a great sense of humor. and your poem, honestly, i'm dying here. that is too funny. this whole thread has been an interesting read.

deb? you don't get the news out there? olive garden? glad to hear you had a greart birthday weekend. an entire weekend celebration sounds excellent.

micke, prayers and good thoughts to you and your family. i'm so sorry to hear of your uncle's passing. i know you've been burning the candle at both ends these last few months, so please stay strong and keep the faith!

Jules, how interesting! I thought about asking if there was any meaning behind each member's GW name. We are such a chatty bunch, that I always forget because I'm trying to catch up with all the posts!

Clarissa just wrote and told me she was scared but happy and wanted her favorite grandmother there.
her dad and her lived with us until she was 7 or 8, so she is my favorite In all future shops I want baby things. she works but has no insurance so she won't have much Me and my cat Misha are both in swaps and waiting, pups cry for my attention now. mamma ignores them hugs

Micke-So sorry to hear about your Uncle. It's always extra hard losing loved ones around Holidays. Prayers and Hugs for you and your family.

Maryanne-Glad you received your box..I have a list of the daylilies I will be sending come Spring. Thanks for hosting this month.

My GW name is an easy one. My Granddaughter's name is Brittney, she was the first and holds a special place in my heart. Nothing like grandchildren.

    Deb-Happy Belated Birthday...

Sassy-I'm posting pictures of red kitchen. Can't believe you collect the victorian ladies and gent figurines too.

    Hi Maryanne,
The site is working. It went down earlier, just after I posted of course! But it's back up and running so I hope you go play: )

In the spring, when invites for the local GW exchange happen. Some smarty pants always writes "It will be fun and you will get to find out what Remy's real name is." Then I always get a few new people asking "So what is your real name?" of course in earshot of the smarty pants who are cracking up laughing. Because if you haven't figured it out by now, it really is just Remy. Anyway, to why it is my GW name, I first started coming to GW in the late 90's and my name was odd and not taken, so I figured why use something else: )

    Klickitat,
That's really neat about her writing you back!

Gotto go look at the pics,

Micke, sorry to hear of the loss of your uncle...

Maryanne I sent to Mellen and received from Great Granny Carol, so take the "giver" off the waiting list...

Jules, love the Klikitat story, I knew that name from somewhere, I read all the Beverley Cleary books over and over as a child.

Giverny4me is from my favorite place Giverny, France, home to artist Monet, was able to meet my sisters there and visit Monet's house and gardens, see the place where he painted the water lilies and other paintings, (deadhead some flowers for them shhhhhhh)we sat in his gardens all afternoon, took the train from Paris there and back, there were fields and fields of sunflowers, one of those days you can see forever in your memory.

So what is behind everyone else's GW name? Earthly Delights kind of sounds like a brothel, don't you think Sassy?

Sassy, Myrtle Beach sounds good to me, I figuire give the Northerners till mid-January and they'll have all their winter sowing done and be ready for some warm weather...

Oh Sassy congratulations on your granddaughter...not too long to wait! Have you bought out the baby girl section of Dillards yet?(Do you have Dillards)

Carol, congratulations on the baby. It's nice you are close that will be a big strength for your granddaughter. That must be the hardest thing for a teen to tell the people who care for them. I would be looking for baby things too...I do that anyway, lol. Now we have a good reason to!

Remy was the name of that bar where you used to work your jugs dancing on tables called Coyote Ugly? I'm getting confused (not, just evil, lol)
...o.k. now I am going to run away before Remy comes after me.......see ya

    HI. Ladies..
Ok so Beans.. Well LLbeans. My name is Laura Lynn and my maiden name used to be Bramlet.. Hence LLbeans? Strange but it stuck. Besides it was better than Piglet (related to Whinnie the Pooh, not that I am a Hog).
Remy and Diane, did you get my emails?

Michelle. Praying for you and yours. If there is anything please let us know.
Remy, it is Rectum by the way.. Ha ha

Klikitat~ I loved Ramone Quimby... Especially age 8. I think I read all the books as soon as I got them.. I used to love the school book fairs.
Sassy pants, I posteed in the other forum for you..
Ah computer is acting strange gonna send before it shuts down..

Micke, I'm sorry also! We're here for you dear!

Giverny4me....WOW! You go girl! I can't imagine ever getting to visit France. Since dh has his own airplane, maybe I need to tell him to fly me there! (Not!) lol
Thanks so much for the well wishes, We (I) paid last week to have a 2nd ultrasound, and definitely know she will be a girl, we have pics of her "business" as Julie calls it! lol But most important, they checked every square inch of that child, I was so impressed! And everything is great! Baby & Mommie are doing wonderfully! And that lucky daughter of mine....every ounce she's gained is entirely in her belly, no where else? I would have killed to look that pretty when I was pregnant with her! She's my only birthed child, have 3 others but I didn't give birth to them. Ok, I guess that made no sense, Jerry has 3 by a previous marriage. But we were married when they were young, so they're mine too! And their Moma knows it! lol

I must admit, we do have to put up with some humidity in the summer, but I wouldn't live anywhere else, love Myrtle Beach, acutally, I have the best of both worlds, I live 20 minutes away from the ocean, so I don't have to deal with the beach traffic, but very convenient to get there quick, and now they've build all these fancy roads, etc to get you anywhere quick, can't beat it! And yes dear, I have a Dillards, and OMG! You must be physic! lol Not only that, I have a beautiful little girls bedroom suit already picked out for my 3rd bedroom, (was gonna use it as a computer room, but....darn it...it has the canopy and everything! Whats a good grandma to do??????? lol Ahead of myself? I would say a big ole YES! *giggles* I don't care! Carol, Maryanne & I are gonna be showing pics until you girls literly BEG us to stop! But we won't listen! lol

Oh yes! Earthly & I are going to open one(naturally, we wouldn't let the grands find out), and actually I LOVE the name and perfectly fitting.......EARTHLY DELIGHTS....just kinda flows with the scheme of things, don't ya think?

It was Tina I thought was dancin' on the bar, darn it, has Remy been bad too? Details! I love Coyote Ugly, btw!!!!
    The music is great!!!!

OK, my vote is, since this is still "Moma Clause's month, she should compile us a list, of names/GW names and what they mean! She should have to! Look at all that good loot she's gotten, I'm jealous!!! And its one of my steps to admit it<div class='message-component message-body__image' key=80626b4f04c9b259><img class='img-responsive cursor-magnify' data-type=15 data-id=80626b4f04c9b259 data-imgid=80626b4f04c9b259 data-cm=5858 data-compid='body_content_img' src=https://st.hzcdn.com/fimgs/80626b4f04c9b259_5858-w240-h163-b0-p0--.jpg width=240 height=163 alt='' loading=eager /></div>

Laura didn't have one before, but will go check again. Ok dear, I'll check the other forum! LOL!!!! I was wondering when someone was going to tell Remy that little fact! You crazy girlssssssssssss!

    Hey Maryanne!

    Hugs girls! Duckin' & Gone!

As for the response from Beverly Cleary, I'm going to have it framed and eventually place it in the nursery once we start having kids. Her books will be the first collection, too.

Giverny... what a great background on your screen name! I've been to France dozens of times, but never to Giverny. There must be some special museum or whatnot for Monet, no? What a special place that would be to visit!

sassyd... Myrtle Beach, eh? Looks like our next vacation might be on the beach. I've never been, but hear wonderful things about the area. And I think your idea of a list of names and where they came from would be a terrific idea!

Nap time for me. I have a little more cleaning to do today before hitting the gardens to do some transplanting. We'll have a high of 60 today which makes for perfect gardening weather.

Speaking of gardening (we do that here, don't we?!) I got a $350 gift card from the father-in-law (yeah, he's a biiiiig spender) for Christmas and plan on putting it toward a tiller. It'll be nice to not have to rent one and also be able to do it after each harvest of veggies rather than just once a year. I'm soooo excited!

Here's the quick story behind my GardenWeb name: Sandlapper is a term for a South Carolinian and you sometimes see it used in businesses, etc. It fact, there is a magazine called the Sandlapper Magazine that is about South Carolina. (Now, being near the beach, Sassy is probably more of a sandlapper than I am...I am near the middle of the state...LOL)
The rose part is because when I first joined GardenWeb, I was really getting interested in growing heirloom roses. So that's the story behind the name!

    Hi All,
There are some good pics over on the graphics thread!
Both Shirley and Theresa have such nice homes!

    Sassy,
Congrats on the impending grand daughter! You have to be very excited now that it is so close to happening. I know you will spoil her rotten, and probably teach her how to play pranks on people or something very "Sassy", lol.
I'm excited that my cousin's child is having a baby in Jan. They are going to call her Remy! When she first go pregnant, she emailed me asking aboutthe history of my name, and if it was ok to use it, like I would of said no! lol.

    Susan,
I would love to go to Giverny. My father went to France and a few other european countries. Anyway, he made me take French in school so that when I went to France, I would be able to communicate, lol. I do hope to go someday.
And LOL! No, no Coyote Ugly kind of stuff going on though I'm sure the guys back then would of loved it!

    Laura,
I have a confession... when I first went to write you a check, I wrote Laura Beans!!lol! I was cracking up as I was tearing up the check.
I did not get your email.
You should use your maiden name for a company name of "Bramlets Bracelets."

    Klickitat,
Cool about the big gift card and tiller!

    Sandlapper,
I never knew the term was for a SC person. Learn something new every day!

    Talk to you later,
    Remy

My name has no story. :(

It's just my first initial and last name. When I first joined GW I was too dense to realize that people had cute sometimes garden-related names and I was also too programmed into the "internet-surfing" first initial last name mode - LOL!

Since then, I've developed the name "CheerMom" (which I think may already be taken here at GW) 'cause my daughter's been involved in cheer since she was in second grade (now in high school).

I'm really liking finding out how everyone got their names!

hi everyone. we're almost done with this thread as well. i think we can go to 150 posts, but i'm not sure. maybe we can make it without opening another one.

i want to thank annie for the wonderfuul hostess gift you sent. and i have to assume the post office did not drop it and treated is as fragile, because the beautiful glass snowman ornament arrived intact. i love it annie, thank you. i am also thrilled with the plant markers, i've never seen markers like these - just wonderful. the christmas dish towel is also a welcome addition.

kimberly. i want to extend my thanks to you as well. the double fugde cocoa sounds excellent. i'm going to set up a hot chocolate bar for christmas and i will be using this. thank you also for the tree ornament, that will not go on my tree, but will be displayed with my display of trees -- if that made sense. i have many miniature trees that range in size from a few inches to maybe a foot or better, of all types and materials, so that is a wonderful addition. thanks also for the penguin/candy ornament.

okay, i believe i have it right now. if i don't, tell me please

my name is just what you think it is....i relish in my "garden of earthly delights", so it is only appropriate that when i signed on to garden web, that is the name that typed itself into the little identification space. i seriously don't think it sounds like a brothel at all!!!!! honestly, i'm going to have to stop by a few houses and wash your mouths out with soap. (ever hear that one? - it ranks up there with iodine and mercurochome)

sassy, your graphics crack me up. you must either spend hours looking for them, or have a heck of a library stored on your computer. i used to do that with sound wavs, but have none now.

tina, are you baking or still shopping. what if a future partner wanted to send you a cocktail shaker and now you ruined it?

susan, i was so off with your name. i really thought you were missing new york. give r (her) ny 4 me - you know like (sing it in your best zsa zsa voice) new york is where i'd rather play, i get allergic smeeling hay, i just adore a penthouse view, darling i love you but give me park avenue.

my cut finger is wearing a finger condom. have you ever seen these things? they come in various sizes and colors LOLOLOL these are excellent, especially for not getting a bandage wet, wish i had found them a few days ago.

come on everyone, ship your boxes, i'm sure your partner is anxious to receive. seven more to receive and we're done with this one.

On for just a few.. Post later.. But I .. Oh.. evening.. YOu ladies are all so smart, but I just figured out a way to keep all my seeds straight as opposed to using a dumb card filer, where I can never see the picture... I am using a baseball card collector holder pages.. I can get two packets in one pocket, and for the seeds that I have rec. from all you cool ladies. I can put a small picture showing me what it looks like, so I don't grow something purple, when I really wanted red.. I am so darned impressed with myself.. well right now anyway..
Ok off for now be back after I pick up all the Legos and Geo trax..

sorry nancy, i had you in both columns. i'll never get this straight LOL

laura, not only beautiful, but smart as well (must run in the family lil sis LOL) lee valley sells a binder type book with pockets to place seeds, along the line of what you did for what i'm sure considerably less money. you one smart cookie!!!

i store my seeds in two different size blanket boxes. they are vintage wooden boxes that were given to me about 20 years ago, and the woman that gave them to me, said they were in her family since she was a little girl. she was getting ready to retire, so she was around mellen's age LOLOLOLOL (kidding) the bigger one holds flower seeds and are split according to type in zip lock bags and are all filed alphabetically. the smaller one holds veggie seeds. i had all intentions of using those organizer cabinets that you put nuts and screws and stuff in and had picked up a bunch of them secondhand so i put them in the dishwasher to clean and the heat melted them. end of those boxes. i have intentions this year to plant the 18 million seeds i have anyway.

i'm stuck on two gifts to buy, not knowing what to get, and i'm torn about buying gifts for two other people. i really don't want to for so many reasons, but i'm not sure what to do about it.

hopefully a few more boxes will get there today, including mine to dizz.

    have a good day,

Not a whole lot of time to post today. I'll be heading out in a few minutes to mail Susie's box. I hope she likes the special items picked out just for her.

My big exciting news for the day has to do with the landscaping I did yesterday. It was a HUGE undertaking, but this one badly neglected area got covered in tons of blooming shrubs, trees, and plants. While the original photos didn't come out, I'll still post the final outcome in the spring. Now for the rain to come and help out with the watering. :)

Ok, girls. More individual posts later.

Whew!*** Releived it all made it without anything breaking Carol! Glad you enjoyed your box. You DID say "anything wolf related" would be great, so I took you at your word. Had to get one of the wall hangings for me too - none of them were alike though, so I sent you the one I thought was prettiest. I just love those dearly depotted headstones, they are so funny & entirely at home with my scraggly-looking houseplants. Figured you could/would wear the flaky-friends pin all year! LOL! Don't make yourself sick on all that candy & "bear poop".
I'm watching for Santa to come by myself.

    Maryanne,

Im guilty as charged; I scanned over the posts but did not see where you had posted. Wow, we are a gabby bunch of ladies; I cant believe how fast the posts add up, and I am so glad you liked the labels. I love mine, because I put the name of the plant on both sides and if one side fades I can just pop it out and see what the name of the plant is. You might say I over kill when I tag plants, after losing so many tags over the years, I now bury a small tag with the plant also. The worse thing I have to do is dig it up to see what it is. Hey, I just want you to know I did have a box of candy, for both you and Janell but forgot to put it in. Hubby says it tasted good! LOL

Ive been reading over the posts now that I have some time on my hands. Im off till Christmas night. YIPPIIIIIIII!

Laura, a blooming friends friendship bracelet is a great idea!

I cant get over how funny this group is. Can you imagine all of us in one place at one time? I really must know where you guys find all these cute pictures, and would someone please send me a step by step cheat sheet on how to do it.

Carol, congratulations on the new grandbaby coming! I want to be grandma so bad, but no luck yet.

My username, Ive collected raggedy Ann and Andy forever, I had to add the 1 because someone else had it, then I tacked on my zip code.

Going to make some potato soup for dinner, does anyone else ever fix this with bacon and cheese?

    LIFE IS GOOD,
    Annie
