| This swap will be both simple and challenging, Does that sound confusing? The simple part is that you only need to send three things. The challenge is to make them interesting and very definately "Squirrley".
At this time of the year most of us are feeling a bit off. Wornout from Christmas and not quite up to starting a new project. Squirrels on the other hand are still out there zipping around. Trying to remember where they stashed the nuts AND looking for a little fun. If you'd like to feel a bit squirley and help your blooming friends have some fun Then join us for this Squirrley swap. Sign up's will be open until Jan 5 and I'll post partners on the 6th. Start looking for items to send now so you can mail by Jan 11th. What you will send: 1 A squirrel of some sort but not Alive. I know if you have a surplus that is tempting but the PO does not approve. LOL 2 A snack for the squirrel. A snack should be a small treat that the squirrel will enjoy eating. 3 Something you think a squirrel would like. There will be prizes for the most creative items sent and also for the first person who sends one of "Secret Squirrrel's" favorite snacks. There may even be a few surprise visits from Secret Squirrel himself. |
Follow-Up Postings:
|
| I'd like to be a bit squirrelly, please. ; ) Hope I'm up to the challenge. Treasa |

We're still trying to get things lined out here, and I've been having some health difficulties as well....but maybe by February things will be better, and I can play then. |

| Thank you Jeanne and my Birthday has been great. The kids have just left so really we celebrate my Birthday and Christmas today. Laura-What a cute Squirrel. I know some don't like them but I find them very entertaining. Hanna (my Husky) doesn't let anything in the yard so it is really hard for them to eat from the feeders. Beth-Sign me up for this squirrley swap. Shirley |

| Shirley, happy post birthday! I dont mind the squirrels as long as they dont eat the plants, and they freak my 2 indoor cats out which is always funny. I hope everyone had happy holidays! |

| Shirley and Heidi, so glad to have you joining in the fun. Welcome to the nest. Laura I love that squirrel picture. What fun to have them so close. Heidi Where I live now I have no squirrels either but I had more than enough last year. There seemed to be dozens and one day I was wondering why my gas gauge was going down so fast???? Wound up a squirrel had munched the fuel line and gasoline was spraying out all over. GGRRRRR BAD squirrel. Anyway, I still enjoy squirrels but I don't want them too close if I can help it. BB |

| My parents neighborhood has 'suicide squirrel squads'. They look all cute and innocent in the yard, then all of a sudden WHOOSH they run in front of your car like its a black friday sale on acorns! There is an unspoken rule that no one swerves for them anymore. Its too dangerous! ~L |

So far we have Teresa, Jeanne, LAura and Heidi in the swap. Melissa and April sitting out. Have I missed anyone? Nuts tha Squirrel is here pacing from window to door wanting to hit the road on his snack search. I'm trying to cool his heels until the first but..... he is beginning to get roudy. |

| My missing post was a welcome to Carol. Really glad to have you join us here in the tree. Make yourself comfy then pass the cookies ( with nuts of course) I'm not quite ready for a game yet but here is a warm up question for you. Using the broad definition of squirrel that includes tree dwellers and ground squirrels.... what is the most famous squirrel you can think of? BB |

| First squirrel I think of is Rocky from Rocky and Bullwinkle. Heidi |

| Secret Squirrel was/is secret agent/spy. Agent 000. One ad I saw said If you don't recognise the term you probaably shouldn't own the patch. Sorry heidi. No SS patch for you. There is a "clue" in the question. Maybe checking the definition will help. I'm wishing now that I had saved this question for a real game. Ok since it's tougher than I thought I'll find a prize for the right answer. |

Carol~ Lili is doing great. Her birthday was yesterday. Hard to believe she is 1 already, isn't it? I do have to say thank you for that Elmo you sent a while back. Now she's addicted to Elmo. If it has anything to do with Elmo, she wants it. She sees the little feller, and she starts squealing "Melmo, Melmo!!" LOL |

| Happy New Year everyone! I am not able to participate this month, but will stop in as workload allows! Not a big Squirrel fan, they are a real menace areound here! We are having two pecan trees and a wild cherry removed this winter to cut down on the squirrel traffic. (and the mess and the nests in the attic). There are HUNDREDS of quirrels here, they eat, steal or chew EVERYTHING edible or not. I did love Rocky and Bullwinkle though! I hope you will all have a safe and happy New Year~ Frances |

LadyD, there were cute pics of Lili on the first BD that have disappeared. Probably a glitch in the system. They sure were not offensive. Frances, I have lived in places where squirrels were a menace too but here there are none and I'm surprised to find I sorta miss them. April. Thanks for posting the neat graphic for Count Down. Happy New Year Everyone. I for one am READY for a new year. Hope all is well with each of you and the future holds lots of good things BB |

| Happy New Year! It seems like it hasn't been that long since the year 2000 arrived. Those years are sure speeding by! We don't do a lot for the New Year. Tomorrow we will start to take down the Christmas decorations so that means a busy weekend. Both my husband and I are starting out with sore backs so I can imagine how we will feel by the end of the day on Sunday. LOL Jeanne |

| Heidi is the winner and will receive a named day lily in the spring. Way to go Heidi. Glad you got it before the next clue because that was going to be that he hailed from PA. ME Too!!! I loved the years he said spring would be early though he was not always right, Thanks for playing everybody. BB |
|
| Yippee I won!!! I love groundhogs/woodchucks. I used to work with 4 of them. There were 3 males and 1 female. The one male had a nasty streak but the little girl would let you pet her on the head. I had no idea that woodchucks were in the squirrel family. I hope to get my Christmas stuff down today. My son is sad that Christmas is over. I told him Santa needed to start on the toys for next year :o) Have a great weekend |
|
| Congratulations, Heidi! Being a past farmer, woodchucks were a nuisance in the fields. You had to be extremely careful not to hit any of their burrows, or you could damage haying equipment, etc. For some reason, they've declined, possibly because of the increase in coyotes. Speaking of coyotes, that reminds me that I'm getting 4 more sheep today. Have a great day, everyone! |

| Happy LATE birthday, Treasa! Hope it was great! :O) Did everyone have a good New Years? I hope everyone had fun & stayed safe. We didn't do anything- just stayed at home, watched movies & had apple cider with the kiddos. I think I made it to 9pm. LOL! The boys all went camping over the weekend. They wanted to get their "winter camping" honor for Pathfinders. The temps have to be below 40 day & night for them to get it. We got 4"s of snow on Saturday night, so I'd say they got the honor. I hope this isn't indicative of what the new year will bring us, though.... LOL! |

MArgaret, keep us posted on the progress with DH. My partner JAck had a heart attack ( possibly two) last spring requiring two different catherizations and two stents. Happy to say all went well and he is doing great now. Hope you can soon be reporting similar news. Today is the last day to sign up for this swap. Still hope we get a few more but regardless, we have a real nice group going here. I'll post a game later today. Just have not decided on the prize yet. BB |

| Margaret, What a scare about your husband. I hope things go well and keep us updated on his treatment and progress. Heidi, Melissa, Those with snow, I am jealous! They are saying that we may get some snow Thursday evening though so we will see... Of course, we get really excited when we get snow! It sure has been cold. It may go down to 12 degrees this weekend. I started out the year with some dental problems so no fun! I already have surgery scheduled to have a dental implant done on Mon. the 11th so more pain ahead next week and then I hope I am done with it for the year. All I can say is it is a blessing to have good, strong teeth. (Not me obviously. I have had tons of dental work done on my teeth ever since my baby teeth came in. When I was young - old days - they didn't even use anything to dull the pain when they filled your teeth. Sometimes I think that is why I experience so much pain with dental procedures even now.) Stay warm eveyone! Jeanne |

| Well Rats! OK SQuirrels. I took a picture of the prize for this game and now can't remember how to post it. It's nice figurine of an angry bird defending it's nest from a curious red squirrel. To win this you need to be first to name 10 different "squirrels" and tell at least one bit of info about each. Example: Kaibab Squirrel found only on Kaibab Plateau in N. AZ Hope this is not too easy but I decided the last one was too hard. BB |

| Sounds like a good line-up of nuts, Beth! Did I miss something? Are we supposed to wait for Chip to visit before we mail out or something? My brain is addled from the bronchitis so Im not positive about most things lately... Fun fact about the common black squirrel: The first time I saw one after moving to Michigan for college I thought it was a skunk and flipped out. Apparently they can go a bit gray when they get old. |

| Laura, both Chips and Nuts are on the prowel looking for their favorite snacks. If someone guesses right and gives either of them the snack they want there will be a prize. Just a hint; one snack is store bought (but not common) the other is home made. If either of thes guys arrived please post what snack they bribg before passing them on. Keep the snacks snall like "snack size" and you can mail them out first class. Total Weight needs to be under 13 oz. Laura, hope you are feeling better. Also hope everyone is staying warm back there in the East and Midwest. BB |

| LAura, most likely, at least one of the squirrley critters will end up at your house since there are only a few of us playing this year. They both should be.....either on the road or snooping in someones kitchen today Nuts was at Teresa's last week and Chips was at Carol's. Where are they now? Anybody know? If they are "traveling" just say that not where they are heading for OK? Try to keep a bit of suspense. BB |

|
| I sent Nuts traveling. He didn't want to go. You see, I have chickens, two rabbits, 19 sheep, two ducks, and a horse. Nuts was frantically snooping for the shell corn and pellets. I caught him nibbling in the laying mash. Naughty boy!! He couldn't get at my stash of squirrel goodies in my freezer. Good thing. But, he was driving me nuts, because the snack I was going to send with him kept disappearing. : / That's why it took me so long to send him on his way. Anyway, he was so very kind to bring me a Snickers, which hubby quickly devoured. When he first arrived, I was a bit puzzled. Thought he was for keeps. LOL Cute little thing! LOL Perhaps Nuts will reach his destination tomorrow. |

| Laura, I mailed your package today. I am having dental surgery on Monday so I didn't think I would be up to going to the post office the first part of next week. I did get delivery confirmation but don't have the number in here right now. I hope you like what I sent. Jeanne |

| Treasa-Yum snickers-my favorite. I'm surprised Nuts did not eat the snickers when he was traveling to your home. Jeanne-Good luck on Monday with your dental surgery. Better get busy..I need to vacuum, do some dusting and dry some clothes. We are going with my daughter and her husband to Atlanta, GA to the Mall. It is so cold here I sure don't want to spend the day cooped up. This is the first time in 40 years I have dryed clothes in the dryer for a whole month. I hang my clothes on a clothes line (and love it). This weather is killing me and I need sunshine. LOL Shirley |

| Thanks for the updates carol and teresa. Things here seem to be moveing really slow here this month. I think we are mostly frozen up. and moving in slow motion. Teresa, Nuts had developed a bit of a bad rep over the years but I thought he was behaving better recently. LOL He does tend to find mischief wherever he goes but your house sounds like a really fun place for a squirrel. Being a farmer at heart I'd probably love it there too. Jeanne, best wishes for Monday. I had a root canal last Monday and go back for more of the same on Tuesdayof this week. The dentist wanted me back on Wed but My neck was so stiff I canceled. I need to go to town today or tomorrow and get the squirrels a snack so I can mail Monday. JAck keeps wanting to feed all the snacks to the blasted Javelinas. He thinks they are CUTE!!!! Well we don't have squirrels here so there needs to be something to mess up the gardens:q) How are the rest of you comming along on your boxes? Beth |

| Hello to all my (long-lost) OBF gals. I am so sorry to have been absent so long. My life always goes topsy-turvy when school starts and football starts, etc. but this year the boys were each on an additional team and I moved from 6th grade to Kindergarten so I just could not catch my breath. Then my 15 y.o. was struggling in school in a few subjects and I had to help pull him through those. So my gardens have been completley neglected and are overgrown and weedy but I'm looking forward to getting back out there in the next week or so if the temps ever warm up. I am trying to catch up on posts now. Happy New Year to all and I hope the holidays were a blessing for everyone. We spent time up in Michigan and then came home to find our temps were just as they were up there. I fear that so many of my tender plants will not survive this cold snap. Some forecasters even say we have a 50% chance of snow tonight. We are not set up to deal with that here. Anyway, I hope to join you all next month. I will be busy this weekend reading old threads here :) Theresa |
|
| Beth your box is in the mail DC# is 420 86332 9101 1288 8230 0963 9664 80 I had a great time packing it and my son had a great time playing with your "squirrel". I just hope he's still alive when it arrives. Squirrels have pretty thick coats so the temps shouldn't effect him to much :op Heidi |

| Oh Heidi! How old is your son? Maybe the squirrel can come back and visit or perhaps the squirrel in your package will be something he will like too. Once the squirrel gets here He'll love it. We went out hiking today and it was beautiful. Shirley, hope your trip went well. It still sounds really cold back there. Amazing what a "wuss" I have turned into after all those years in AK Theresa24 really glad you had a chance to drop in and hope you can join a swap someday soon. |

| Beth~ I have 2 little boys, John is 3 and Jace is 1. Just when I had the box all packed up nice John grabbed your "squirrel" out of the box and asked "can I see this?". UGH. He really likes to help me pack up the boxes. When I told him that the box was going to "my garden friend Beth" he said "she's my friend too". He really is sweet for 3. Shirley I am with ya on the need for sun shine! Tonight is supposed to be our coldest night so far. I hope that it gets warmer from here. Heidi |

| Heidi, that is so sweet! What a lucky Lady you are. Carol addresses are on the way. Hope you are feeling better today. Looking at the old address list, I can't help but wonder where all the rest of the old timers are. It looks like we still need someone to host quite few months for 2010. Hope everyone is thinking about that. I have virtually "no" plants so I can only host when it is not appropriate to send plants. Well, guess maybe I could but it sure does not sound like much fun :( |

| Hi Girls, Haven't posted much lately as my son is home from college for another week and DH is traveling overseas again. So, my son and I are doing a lot of yard work (Brrrrr!) while he's here. We're raising one side of our property with topsoil to try to combat a drainage issue. Huge amounts of rain water comes in across our property from the street. We put up a berm. Now the water travels farther down the street and enters on my neighbor's yard, then rolls into mine! He doesn't garden, doesn't grow grass and won't do a berm. Last month we even had to pay to prune his trees, as they were dropping huge branches all over our property and breaking my bushes. Anyway . . . we've hauled eleven truckloads by wheelbarrow, spread it and mulched, so far. It's great to have a 19 year old's muscle to do this. He likes this kind of work and we pay him well so he can support his snowboarding jaunts. Am trying to get organized to do wintersowing. So far have filled 48 milk jugs with soil, made labels for 82. Now just have to plant, tape and record them. Then do more. Maybe today. Heidi, John sounds so precious. I think 3 years old was my very favorite age for my kids. Carol, do rest up and feel well. I feel for you. Jeanne, I know what you mean about the stiff neck from a dental chair. Hope it's over quickly for you. Theresa, can't believe snow in Florida! The weather is really surprising us a lot lately. Beth, looks like your players this month are having fun and being squirrely. Cute idea. Hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying the New Year. |

| Hi all I guess I will attempt to do March with an "Egg-stra" special swap. Easter is the first weekend in April so I think that having an Easter swap in March would work. Yes? No? Heidi |
|
| Yes, there was snow in Florida supposedly as far south as Miami! I'm not quite sure I believe that. Most of it was about an hour south of us and didn't accumulate much. If we were to have gotten it here it was supposed to stick and accumulate. I'm tired of the cold. We're really not prepared for it here. We don't have the right heating systems, clothes, etc. Our high yesterday was 35 and the low was 18. We've had about a week and a half straight of this. Yes, I know I'm whining. This was the first weekend in months that I've had free to get start getting caught up outside but it's just not happening. Theresa |

Not really sure what obf is but you are a very creative bunch. I was watching my squirrels foraging by the bird feeders yesterday and remembered seeing this thread. | Mary that is a great picture. The yard looks womderful. I have always really enjoyed watching the birds eating the sunflowers. That must be a big strong one to be holding up a squirrel. OBF is for Our Blooming Friends and I for one am not all that clever. I could not figure out how to include our logo in the header. For more info about the group try checking the swap fron Dec. Shirley explains it there. Thanks for posting and please do come back BB |

| Shirley, We do have heat but heat pumps just don't cut it when it's this cold. There needs to be some heat in the air to extract. I know when we had a heat pump up in Virginia it was not at all ideal! I will be happy to host May. Theresa |
|
| I know this has nothing to do with squirrels, but do any of you have a flower press. I am in the process of making one for myself. I see that they recommend using blotter paper. In the past when I would place flowers in a book to press, I would use wax paper and have good results. My question is does it really matter? Heidi |

| Okay, let's see if I can touch all the bases... First of all, Happy Birthday to Laura. I hope you had a wonderful day! My dental implant surgery seems to have gone well so far. Of course, typical for me is for the pain to get worse after the first two days so we will see. I have had so many procedures result in tremendous pain that I keep thinking I am due for one that turns out to be trouble free. Beth, good luck at the dentist. Carol, I will watch for your packages and be sure to let you know when they arrive. It sure will be nice to get a surprise in the mail. Ditto from me on the heat pumps. They do not work well once the temperatures drop really low. Then it's like all it does is to blow cold air into the house. We have heat pumps upstairs and down and I hate them in really cold weather. Mary, It was nice to hear from you. I hope maybe you are interested in joining our group. Heidi, I think you are the one who asked about flower presses. I wanted to get one of the ones that works in the microwave and they are expensive. Anyway, I made up my own style and sold some last year. I did not use blotting paper. The key in the microwave is that you have to do it is very short bursts and keep checking on the heat and dryness and whatever material you use against the flower (or leaf or herb) has to be really moisture absorbing - and not easily flammable either. Melissa, I'm glad that you and your family are enjoying Maggie. My poor dog has another lump that we noticed last week. I am taking her to the vet to have it checked out on Thursday. Sure hope this one is not cancer again. I would take her sooner, but I don't drive when I am taking pain pills and I wanted to make sure I would be off them by then so I can take her without any problem. Anyway, it looks like we have lots of good swaps coming up. I am planning several trips this year and none of the dates have been decided so I can't sign up to hostess right now, but maybe later I will have an idea of when I will be gone and when I will be home. Jeanne |

| Thank you all for the birthday wishes. Jeanne, your package arrived today!! Thank you for the birthday stickers around the outside too :). Included in my box is a pack of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, stickers, seeds from her 'stash', a cute squirrel shelf sitter (I think hes going in the bedroom!), and a mystifying orange lock&lock container with a note saying she hopes it makes sense to me and that the squirrels would like it... :) I don't know what you had in mind, Jeanne, but I see a geocache in potential! |

| Hi, Laura - Oh that is so great that your package arrived on your birthday! If I had tried to time it that way, it would not have worked. The ceramic squirrel is supposed to be a pot sitter - he is crawling out of the pot so you hang him on the edge of the pot by his back legs. Of course, there is no reason why he can't sit on a shelf if you prefer! You probably noticed that there are some squirrel stickers in the package with stickers. My idea with the storage container is that it is a food storange container and squirrels are always hiding food so they can come back and find it later. Anyway, it made sense to me since one category was something a squirrel would like. You got the others figured out! LOL Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful day! Time for me to head up to bed. Jeanne |

| Laura, Happy belated. Hope it was a good one. Jeanne, I hope you're doing well and recovery quickly from the surgery. I also am hoping that you're dog is okay and it's not cancer. Our bunny died suddenly last week. It wasn't from the cold because we had brought it in to enclosed back porch and they can, supposedly, take a lot of cold. My poor DS was beside himself. The vet is supposed to call us next week to see if they can determine what happened. He was only four years old which is young for a dwarf rabbit. :( Congrats Melissa on your new family member. I bet the kids are just loving her so much! I'm glad to hear that other agree about the heat pumps. So it's not that we are wimps here when it gets cold, it's just that our heaters are pooh! I can't believe that we made do with one in Virginia! Shirley I will let you know what I come up with for April. I'm looking forward to hosting. Theresa |

| Oh my, I just received my package from Carol and there are going to be some happy squirrels and people here in Lexington. She really sent a lot! There are ears of dried corn for the squirrels with a special holder to put them in, seeds for me to plant, some pretty butterfly coasters in a matching gift bag, garden gloves, and here are all the treats: Mountain Trail Mix, Peanut Butter Filled Nuggets, Milk Chocolate with Hazelnuts, Chocolate Peanuts, and Belgian Milk Chocolate Nut Blend. Will have to wait for my dental surgery to heal before I start munching, but the sun is out today and I may go to hang the corn holder outside and see if there are some squirrel games that arise out of that. Anyway, thanks so much, Carol, and thank you, Beth, for allowing us to enjoy the squirrels again this winter! |

| Hi all I received my box from Laura today. There was a little stuffed squirrel for my kids. John named the squirrel John. He said "come on little buddy" and together they went to watch Scooby Doo. There was a pretty crystal like dew drop to hang in my window and some yummy cookies. The box was also packed with seeds...lots that were on my want list. The bag with the seeds said "go nuts". Thanks for the box Laura I loved everything. |

| Glad you liked the squirrel. Cannot take credit for the yard, its my neighbors'. The sunflowers act as a kinda cheery fence. The sunflower holding the squirrel is a ten footer that reseeded from a mix, the stalk was so thick it took a saw to chop it down. It also fed about half a dozen goldfinches. I don't think it had any seeds left to reseed this year. I'll definitely be finding more. Back to the wintersowing forum with me. MARY |

I was on a family reunion cruise and posed pool-side sipping umbrella laden drinks with a pair of them. They were being taken on vacation by a fellow passenger on behalf of some kids she knew, (or was related to, or something) and taking pictures with lots of the passengers. Its such a cute idea! |

| The silly squirrels have not been to my house yet, but I had a visit from one of Beth's squirrels during one of the previous years when she had a squirrel swap so it will suit me for those who haven't ever had a visit or who have children at home to get the visits first. Theresa, I was sorry to hear about your rabbit. I can imagine how upset your son was. Could the vet tell you what happened? I had a rabbit as a child and my daughters had one when they were girls. They are such soft, gentle creatures. Today was when I took my dog to the vet to have the new lump looked at. She will be having surgery to remove it next week on Thursday. Third lump to be removed in about a month so it sure has been rough. So far, the two that were removed were not the same thing and it sounds like this one may be a cyst so different thing once again. We just hope that this one shows no sign of cancer. It is rough getting older - for the dogs - and for us humans. Stay warm everyone. It got into the mid-50's today and the sun was out. What a welcome break in the weather. Jeanne |

| Wow Heidi, that box knocked my sox off. I don't think I've ever had a better, more fun or more creative one. Right off the bat "Super Squirrel had me laughing out loud. What a face and what a character. This jet propelled squirrel came with his favorite treat, Homemade chocolate peanutbutter acorns(he was fighting both me and Jack to defend these0 and a picture of his girl friend ina magnetic frame. NO battle there. She's cute but noy quite my type. A bright sun catcher for my Kitchen window, more garden gloves an adorable snowman planter with basil seedswater crystals for plants and a set of beautiful cards. There were poems and stories with everything and all the lyrics to Mississippi Squirrel Revival ( a long time favorite of mine) Hreidi did you make these cards? They are adorable. You've got me wishing I had offered a prize for creativity. Jeanne Hope things go well for your dog. You're right getting old is not easy. Heidi I'm sending you a great big THANK YOU. That box is the most fun I've had in a while. At least as good as Christmas. hugs,bb |
|
| I am so glad the squirrel made you laugh. I will describe him for everyone. He is actually a dog toy that acts like a sling shot, so he flies through the air. He has on a blue helmet, red cape and goggles with his eyes bulging out. I looked and looked for a squirrel and finally when I was about to give up I found him. I laughed and had to show my family...which they thought I was nuts but oh well. Yes I did make the cards. The squirrel card was cut out on my cricut. I will be sending chip on his way tomorrow. I have some goodies baking in the oven as we speak. Heidi |

Beth Beth-DH loved the flag and wanted to put it up but I said no we will wait until Spring when we can enjoy it. I sure don't want this weather to ruin it. Beth sent: I'm sure Dawson will take the baby squirrel and the tree trunk away from me....gosh that is darling. | Hi everybody, Okay, Shirley, I think I can take September. I'll be out of town a lot in July, August and December. Let me know if that's okay. Haven't been a hostess before, so hope I can uphold the standard :-) Cheers, |

| Good Morning! I spent a few hours yesterday doing long overdue "Fall" clean up. It was just gorgeous outside, bright sunshine mid 50's hope to finish it up today with even warmer temps in the forcast. I have gotten so soft living in the south, brrrr, don't think I could stand a northern winter anymore! It was so wet in November and December and freezing in January I am glad to get a reprieve even if it only lasts a week or so! Shirley Jeanne Heidi Laura I couldn't find a squirrel photo (I know I have dozens) but here is a relative. I can imagine the birds chittering 'who's the knew guy?!?!' Frances |

| I will be posting the February swap on Monday. I hope that is OK with everyone? I want to give everyone plenty of time to mail out their packages next month, since it's a short one. |

| Shirley, glad you enjoyed the box. I had a few "second thoughts" about the flag but I had thought it was cute. Super that DH liked it too. Frances the chipmunk is adorable and more than welcome in this squirrley bunch. Melissa, I'll be gone most of next week but will check in when I can Beth |

| Nuts just arrived at my house. He was sent by Shirley and brough a Zero bar as the snack. It's just beautiful out so he may want to go out to play. 63 degrees and the sun is out! I just came in from doing some winter sowing. These are my first seeds for 2010! I was able to plant 13 containers. Usually I start from scratch and this year I decided to wash and save the milk jugs from the previous year. Wow, it goes a lot faster! Thanks, Shirley. If anyone in the swap has not received a squirrel yet, please let me know by e-mail and Nuts will come to your house next - otherwise, we will just see where he lands. Jeanne |

| Chip left today. I had to buy my postage at the post office instead of online. I forgot to get a DC, but it did go out flat rate priority. Heidi |

| I went ahead & posted the February swap. I want every one to have time to think about joining, and make plans on what to send. |
