Your Favorite Garden books

I'm looking for suggestions of garden books to order.
Most interested in ones that are for a specific type of gardening.
Like:
Butterfly/bird
vegetable
South west or midwest regional
Wildflowers
Heirloom plants etc.
Probably my all time favorite is Allan Lacy's Autumn Garden. It is beautifully illustrated with full color pictures and very well written. It inspires me to dream about how a garden can be "someday" and names specific plants for me to search and wish for.
I guess this is my garden wish book.
Please list garden books that you have enjoyed and a little bit about what made them a bit better than the usual. I sorta prefer ones that have been around a while but if if's new and still special to you, that's fine too.
Thanks
Bethb

i really like square foot gardening. we do a lot of container/raised bed gardening and i find this really helps me figure out how much to plant and where to put it. kind of basic and i'm pretty sure there are a lot f books out there on the subject, but i like the layout of this one too-- a page for each veggie giving space requirements, soil needs, planting and harvesting tables, etc.

Rose, you are so right on that book. I have used it for years I garden now mostly in containers but used a lot of the techniques even in my regular garden.
Great for anyone trying to start with veggies or grow more in a smallish space.
Thanks for mentioning it.
