Is anyone growing Leucodendron in S. Florida?

I know it needs dry weather, so wondering if it will survive our summers. If so, how do you grow it? I want one so badly, but they are expensive, so not buying one unless it will survive.

I very much doubt it would be happy with the heat and humidity of Florida. As far as I know the only places it will grow in the US are the California coast and higher elevations of Hawaii.
