Dear SA WildFlowers,
Is Devil's Claw an exculsive African Wildflower? Saw it growing throughout Mexico.Gorgeous.

It grows wild in the Texas area.

Hi Alberto,

That's the trouble with common names!!

Harpagophytum procumbens comes from the Kalahari (RSA, Botswana, Namibia, Zim)

Proboscidea parviflora (and other species) come from America

Both plants and more are called 'Devil's Claw'.
