My saliva cham. has discoloured leaves - some are yellowish down one side. Could this be a virus?

Don't know this specific plant but virus usually cause blotches, dots or streaks in the leaf itself which often stay yellow and the same texture as the rest of the leaf. Bacteria and fungi usually cause soft spots and rotting that spreads quickly. If it is a bacteria/fungus problem you can spray with Physan or M-45 Dithane or equivalent chemical, or, if you are an organic gardener, with ground cinnamon (not as effective).

If it's a virus there's no option but to burn the plant. Even if you get a cutting to propagate it would have the virus too.

If you can post a picture I'm sure the rest of the group will try to help though I think you'd be better off posting it at the pest and disease forum. Link below.

Good luck. RJ
