Haemanthus question

| While H. multiflorus is in full bloom now, H. albifloss seems to never bloom. While H. albifloss grows well and divides readily, it does not flower. Just curious as to what it might take to get a flower?

If they had it too good, then they don't flower.
These plants respond to the first showers of the season by (litterally) bursting into bloom.
Ever seen Namaqualand in full bloom? The Dutch tulip fields are a pale facsimily by comparison. The Calvinia weatherstation issues alerts after the first rains, and then the tourists come flocking in by droves.

| My H. albiflos always blooms in November. I have two bulbs in a small terracota pot with sandy soil and under lights after a summer spent outdoors. I don't feed it or water it much throughout the year. Seems to be one of those plants that does better with neglect. The seeds are ripe now. |
