I have come across this really beautiful plant and would like to grow it. The picture shown on

is unlike anything I have ever seen.
Can this plant be grown at home?
does it require special care?
has anyone tried, and do you have hints to offer me?

| What do you mean by "grown at home"? If you mean as a houseplant then the answer is no. Like almost all ZA Protea family members it requires maximum light, lots and lots of fresh air, a phosphorous-deficient, slightly acidic soil, avoidance of over-hot conditions, very good drainage and clean water. It will be fine just kept frost-free (and may take a little frost in fact). With best wishes. Rob. |
