If I buy protea plants to put on the slope of my canyon...will they bloom the next year--and do they grow fast? Since I live in San Diego...my soil is alkaline....what do you suggest to amend the acidity? I have ironite, and fertilizer for camellias and for Plumerias.....please advise...thanks

/Debbie
