Does anyone know where to find cryptostephanus seeds or plants. Either C.vasonoo or C. haemanthoides? I think that they are hard to find. I live in the U.S. and I am a Clivia and Agapanthus enthusiast. I would love to add Cryptostephanus to my collection.

Actually, I don't know if these are actually indigenious to South Africa. Maybe South Central or East Africa?? Anyway, If anyone knows a source for buying or trading these lovely plants, please let me know!

Thanks : )

The attached website has a couple of species listed (look under "Bulbs"), but is says they're out of stock. I've dealt with him a couple of times and gotten good service -- you could contact him and see what he can do for you... Good luck!

Here is a link that might be useful: Rare Exotics

Hi Dave,

I did contact this seller and he told me it was unlikely he would be getting anymore in anytime soon. Thanks anyway!

You might ask Silverhill Seeds if they happen to have any or will be traveling in the north. I got some seed from them a few years ago, although it was never in their catalog. I expect it is short-lived, like a lot of amaryllid seed.

I have seeds often from my plants of Cryptostephanus vansonii. Anyone is welcome to contact me for abvailability.

Hi,

Thanks for the posting! I'm afraid I don't have any seed to exchange right
now. But I do have some clivia seedlings that I've sprouted. Some are
yellow and some are suppose to be daruma variegated from China. I would be
willing to send you one of each for some C. Vansonii seed.
