Hi.....I'm new to clivia, so this is probably a very basic question. I picked up a nice budded clivia at a horticultural show back in February. It bloomed not long after I brought it home, then went into what I assume is its normal rest period.
When the weather warmed up in early May I put it on my screened-in porch, in bright shade (no direct light). I didn't repot it because I know they prefer to be in a snug container and the one it was in seemed fine.
Should I be seeing signs of a new bloom cycle sometime soon? The plant overall looks perfectly healthy and happy, but I'm wondering if there's anything I need to do beyond light watering to encourage it to bloom again? Should I be giving it a jolt of fertilizer? Or is it too soon to expect it to put on another show?
Mine blooms almost continuously year round. I keep it in a north window in the winter and outside in dappled shade in the summer. When it's outside I keep it watered and fertilize occasionally with fish emulsion. I have only repotted it once and that was when it broke the pot it was in.
