Gardening in ZA!

Hi all!

I just started a garden and am wondering where you shop for all your good ol' garden materials?

I was looking at some local stores but am considering online/used items. Have any of you used Gumtree ZA for this type of thing? Was checking out the supply here:

...but wasn't sure if it was a good idea?
Let me know you're opinions!

Hi Jenna

This may be a little late if you've ready made your big purchases. In which province are you? If you use Gumtree (it's kind of like Craigslist) at all, it's better to go and see the items in person rather than sending money and hoping they will be posted to you. There's a lot of scams like that. A better option for online buying is Bid or Buy, which has a support system, refunds etc like Ebay.

Personally, I only buy hard to find items online, like giant pumpkin seeds (these aren't available in our local nurseries). If you are in GP I can recommend a lot of excellent nurseries for general stuff and a couple of specialist indigenous ones.
