Does anyone know where I can obtain this plant. I recently saw them on a visit to the botanical gardens in Ft. Bragg, California where they weren't offered for sale, fell in love with them and really want some of them. Have searched on line to no avail. Am willing to swap Central Florida cuttings. Thanks.

I have lots and seeds as well. What kind of cuttings do you have? These are easy to grow and spread fast, I have the bright red and some paler pink ones. I have heard there are white ones but I have not been able to find them. Rebecca |

Hi David, I kept my pot indoors last winter. It bloomed from November to June. I think it would have died in last year's winter, because we got quite cold too. I see them in gardens in Victoria, nearer to the ocean where temps are more moderate, and people have them in the ground year-round. My first one (pink) has spread so much that I am going to divide the pot and try some outside and just bring a small amount in for the winter, so I don't lose it. My second one (red) is still small, so its pot will come inside. Jan in Vict. area PS. for anyone looking for them, the name has been changed to Hesperantha, I believe. |

| I'm still operating on Schizostylis coccinea. For fellow zone 9 folk - in damp and sunny areas this plant has the potential to be vigorous. It naturalises readily and forms colonies along riversides - really enjoying the damp soils over the summer. It also seeds generously and can be found some distance away from the parent plant. Pretty, but needs watching. |

| Hesperantha is totally hardy in a PNW zone 8. I grow three different cultivars personally as well as sell them throughout the winter at my nursery. They are tough as nails, require no special treatment (other than a sunny and evenly moist location) and will bloom well into January or February in the Puget Sound area. |
