Clivia novice...

I am an admitted clivia novice and just have acquired a beautiful big plant. I live in CT and I was advised to bring my new addition inside before the first frost which potentially could be tonight. Here is my question: How often should I water my plant during the winter months? From what I have been reading, I'm gathering not much. I've seen my new plant in full bloom at its former home and can't wait for spring!!

Thanks in advance!!

RE: Clivia novice...

Give it good light indoors and a temperature of 50-55F from now until March; water moderately over winter by keeping it just moist; freely from March to September and apply a fortnightly liquid feed. Bring into a higher temperature whan the flower stems appear and increase a little on the watering. Repot/divide immediately after flowering but only when necessary and don't overpot. You Clivia will do better potbound with a liquid fertilizer applied.
