I received this salvia in a garden swap. I love it! Someone wants to know what kind of salvia it is, can you help? You can click on the photo to make it larger.

Hard to tell, even in the enlarged image, because of the distance from the flower spike. It looks like Salvia nemerosa `East Friesland' or some other variety of this hybrid.

It looks like salvia verticillata 'purple rain' to me or some kind off verticillata.

Hi Annette, I did a google image search on salvia verticillata 'purple rain' and YES I'm pretty sure that's it. THANK YOU. It's a wonderful long blooming, low maintenance salvia
