Someone said Walmart would have heat mats in Jan. I have not seen any in my local WM , they have peat pots and pods and seed starting trays but not much else. Will I have to wait till feb to find them locally? Anyone have any experience with this and how much has wm had the standard size for. Ive noticed online the cheapest ones are around $19 or $20, but most are higher. Need more info please.

I noticed in the last part of December they had them in Home Depot in a display with the Jiffy seed starting stuff, etc. You might try there. Brenda

Steve: I have not found heat mats at any of the stores in my area. The best I have found is $20 on the web for a combo heat mat and seed starting kit. Good luck in finding one at Walmart! I did see one lady who used an old electric blanket but I don't have one of those, either. Becky

Brenda-- I feel that your part of sunny ca is a lot different from the midwest and eastcoast as they always change the stores around for the winter season here and dont even bring out the seed starting stuff till after the first of the year, whereas yours probably stay out year round. I have a heating pad but afraid to use it as it may get too hot for my seedlings, even though it has a low setting. I guess I dont have to have one , but I would like to have one for the b&b and other stubborn ones like subrotunda.
