Salvia flava x ?

I'm germinating out a few seeds of a hybrid Salvia I got in from Robin. It looks like I am getting 100% germination from 3 seeds as I did with S. indica. I'm excited to see what develops in these plants.

    Joseph,

    Treat this like indica.

This is a real beauty, nobody knows for sure what it is! Seeds from Geoff Genge in New Zealand. Now he got these from Alaska!!!! Supposed to be a hybrid of flava x hians........I find this hard to believe!!! To my amateur eye, I see instantly that flava is involved......but hians??? No! Also S. bulleyana could be involved.

Salvia 'Gloomy', with odd brown flowers is obviously related.....worth growing for the beautiful lime-green foliage.

Again, will flower 2nd year from seed, not so fussy about drainage.

    Robin.

The seedlings are developing nicely. All three seeds germinated, a total delight to see.

The seedlings are coming along now. Only 2 more months before last frost date.
