It has shown up, but we mostly are interested in its ornamental properties.

...if you're lucky enough to coax it into blooming! It does have luxuriant foliage... I've been abusing mine - I mean - leaving it exposed to the East Bay elements. Looks like it'll survive, though it looks u-g-l-y!

PS: I could see there being an interesting discussion about ritual uses, Mazatec culture, etc., but if someone starts talking about tinctures, smoking the stuff, and so on, then the big red flag marked "idiot alert" goes up, for me. Anyway, discussion about recreational drug use is very limited, usually ending in "duhhhh". |

lol I believe in the old days here even mentioning this plant by name would get a thread deleted.

Haha...If you have smoked it then there is no need for it's discussion. If you have not, it is suggested you do not. Some herbs are meant for consumption, some are not, and unless you want to feel very uncomfortable, I suggest you stick to putting Salvia Officionalis onto your pasta.

The dangers are real. While seeking to re-create some sort of primal, spiritual experience - or just to have their minds literally blown apart - knuckleheads vie for a Darwin Award. But it's too far to say "not meant for consumption". The plant has important, specific values to certain people.
