LBAM (Light Brown Apple Moth) - and the area of infection includes Watsonville and environs, where Cabrillo College is.

Any particular species of Salvia?

They don't appear to be attracted to Salvias, but the possibility that they can hitchhike on any plants is reason enough. I'm not sure if anyone knows how host specific they are.

FWIW, the LBAM has not been found in Riverside Co., CA, where I live. But it was found in adjoining Los Angeles Co., where it may have been eradicated. This according to the University of California Riverside, Center for Invasive Species Research.
