Question about Russian Sage?

Most of my perennials are coming out of dormacy. I am getting concerned about my Russian sage's though. Are they late bloomers? I am hoping they are as I have four of them...and I so hate waiting. We did have two bad cold snaps this winter...and I am hoping this didn't damage them. They had tons of mulch on this year. I guess I will just be "waiting" through the end of April for a sign.

Your Perovskia atriplicifolia(Russian Sage) is cold hardy to zone 4 so you weather in zone 7 should not be a problem for it.It takes a while for soil temperatures to warm. It will
be back.

I agree with Art. It will take some time. If your weather is warming up, pull back the mulch to warm up the soil faster.

Thanks for the information. That's what I thought too about the zone Art-this is the first year for it to come out of dormacy so I've been waiting and watching for it to happen. ...I pulled back the mulch last weekend and it has warmed up although on Monday we might get dusted with snow so I will put it back on and around them again. Sheesh...
