Where it is is very dry and I am indeed 'tempted' to move it. But I won't until I have some seeds...

I also thought it might be a hybrid when I saw this on the hummingbird forum, so I suggested posting here. But there are two seedlings... what are the chances that they would both have the same mutation?

It is nice; I like the leaf margin. I wouldn't move it... and I would also try to get seeds and cuttings.

Very nice Salvia. I agree it's a keeper if you can manage it. The leaves do remind me of a Salvia I've seen before. I'll look thru' my archives tomorrow.

Im guessing it to be hybrid of some kind. Looks like it might even be a dwarf imitation. But is certainly spitting out the blooms for its small size. Looking forward to Richard's thoughts on this subject.

I think it is also a Salvia coccinea. The pigmented edging is similar to shade-loving species like S. miniata, which adapts to straight sun by darkening the foliage. The air temperature would also be a clue. Is it abnormally cool or hot?

Does the flower open up fully, or attempt to stay semi-tubular?
