I don't know about Purple Volcano, but the others are nemerosa / superba types, which are hardy in USDA zone 5.

I also want to know if any of the selections are invasive in a garden.

Thanks rich dufresne; at least I don't have to worry about them being perennial in my zone.

I'm in zone 7b myself, and they do get heat stressed if there is low humidity and poor drainage. They are less fussy in Ohio and Massachusetts.

Nemerosa forms are generally sterile.

Thanks Rich, I had some salvia in the Victoria family last year with bloom spirals over a foot long, but unfortunately only three of the six came back. They were cuttings given me so I'm not sure what I planted. The salvia was so beautiful that everyone stopped to look. It stayed in bloom from June until we got frost in late Oct. I have bought Blue Hill to replace the ones that didn't come back and hope it will be as showy.

I bought the ones mentioned above except Lubecca, but couldn't find it this morning. I also bought Purple Rain and Rose Sensation. I guess this is my year to experiment with salvia.

I do appreciate your comments and help because I am just learning about salvias.
