How tall does this get in your garden?
Supposed to stay 12" to 20".
I bought this yesterday and would like to know true height before planting.

I like salvia's that stay short, or taller is okay if they don't have to be staked.
I especially like how my Hot Lips always stays mounded.

Does the tag say what species this one is?

I'm guessing it is a coccinea form.

It's Salvia coccinea ‘Summer Jewel Red’.
I'm planting it today and hope it gets no taller than 20 inches.

I grew these and Summer Jewel Pink from seed (Park Seed) last summer and they got about 15-inches high and wide and bloomed continuously until frost. I dug a few and took cuttings of some to over winter since they are not hardy in our zone 7b/8a climate. I will be interested in how tall the year old plants get this summer.

"I especially like how my Hot Lips always stays mounded."

What does that mean - always stay mounded?
