Hello all, I'm new to this forum but I have a question about this Salvia. I haven't grown it before but I wanted to try this year because of it's beautifl flower spikes (plus a friend gave me tons of seed!). So I now have about 12 seedlings and they are doing pretty well. I know they won't flower for another year but I just wanted to know what I need to do this first year to get them really growing. Can they take some shade? Do they need a lot of space this year to grow foliage or can I plant them close to other plants in the beds? Also, does it look best to dot this plant through out the bed or can I try planting a grouping of them? I have usually seen them dotted around the garden but I thought they could get awesome in one large planting. I just kinda want to get them into the ground and leave them alone til they flower net year. Thanks in advance for the info!
