My yard is filled with this perennial my grandmother has been growing. I have been calling it Salvia, but now I believe I'm mistaken. It looks a lot like speedwell. How do I tell the difference?
Do you have an image you can post?
Salvia flowers have a hood and lower lip, and leaves and flowers come out of the nodes in pairs.
Check out Robin's Salvias for a lot of Salvia images for comparison
Here is a link that might be useful: Robin's Salvias
As far as I know, Veronica stems aren't square, whereas Salvias are. :)
