This was given to me and mistakenly mislabeled. Anyone have a good ID? There are a couple I think it might be, but not sure.

I agree. The form San Carlos Festival comes to mind.

Thanks! I was also thinking San Carlos or Wild Watermelon.

RE: ID please

I was thinking Wild Watermelon because of the white throat.

RE: ID please

I'm not sure Wild Watermelon will come true from seed, at least for flower size. Don Mahoney of Strying Arboretum collected it just below the alpine zone on Cerro Potosi, the tallest mountain in northeastern Mexico. I was given a choice of a seedling from that collection as a gift for giving a talk there. On a suggestion, I decided to call it Wild Watermenlon. It does indeed have a white throat.

I think that S. micr. Cerro Potosi and and another one, possibly Santa Rosa, are from the same lot.

Ah, the plot thickens. . .I was given this as a rooted cutting and it has grown into a wonderful plant. The blooms each have a distinct white throat. Thanks for the info, Rich!

RE: ID please

The flowers should be almost double the size of most microphyllas.
