Looks like S.microphylla not for sure of the cultivar
a couple of other options 1)from the "Mesa Series" of Salvias
2)I have not seen this one but S x Raspberry Royale
3)Salvia microphylla "Red Velvet"
My Salvia microphylla "San Luis Potasi" Which gets that big
as well.

Found it in my records.... Salvia 'Riverside Sage' (S. karwinskii x greggii). I'm ashamed to admit this is the second time I've asked for this plant ID. I suddenly had an "ah ha!" moment and searched some old records and found it there.

Thank you for sharing your suggestions... perhaps they triggered something in my gray matter. :)
