I had this plant once before, planted in full sun and it promptly died. I just recently purchased 2 with info on plant tags saying that they should be in partial shade in hot areas. I'll put them in morning-sun-only here in California's hot, dry Central Valley.

I have salvia limelight and salvia tula which looks like limelight on steroids (bigger and stronger and much taller). I bought it from The Herb Cottage in Hallettsville. Actually, I bought it from them when they were vendors at a San Antonio show but they do mail order. Mine is grown in a very large container and froze back in the winter and came back fine in the spring. The contrast of the chartreuse green stem with the bright blue flowers is really eyecatching.
