I took a drive after work to see if I could find some
Salvia farinacea populations. I drove past some on the way to work so I went a little further east. Ran across a population about 1/8 a mile long. Most of the plants exhibit
ed a more lavender tint in the flower some single plants
were 4' across.I will need to check on my more
North western populations see how they came through the drought.Hope we can get some seed this year for Robin and Annette.Rich would you like some too?

| I have seed from a wild population in Bosque county, texas that was sent to me. I do not know what the flower looks like yet. I also have collected some from the Blanco River 10 miles up from Wimberly towards Blanco Texas on Wayside Drive. Again, I am waiting on the bloom. The two are definitely different from each other. The leavews are a different color green and the shape is different too. Art, I have some salvias with your name on them. Do you want me to bring them into town or do you want to come out here?- Mara |
