Varieties of Salvia that do not flop

I'm looking for purple or blue plants which can tolerate lots of heat and sun. Can anyone recommend salvias that fit all these criteria?

If all of them flop, is there a support or method you use to keep them erect?

Thanks,
Marlene

Indigo spires doesn't flop for me, unless it's not getting enough sun, then it reaches.

In sun, the guaraniticas do not flop. Any problems with wind?

Salvia chamaedryoides, S. reptans, and S. villosa are Chihuahuan desert and mountain species with blue flowers. S. coahuilensis is dark indigo, S. muelleri is royal purple, and the lycioides x greggii forms (San Isidro - lavender; Los Lirios - dark purple) are pretty reliable. All of these are low shrubs that can tolerate sun. They do need good drainage and occasional deep watering during drought.

"black and blue" salvia (also it is true blue, not purple!)
